This is not your standard relaxing massage with candles and aromatherapy (although that can be nice, too). Johnny’s massages are hard-​core, uncomfortable, and sometimes even painful. But it’s for your own good — tight and inflexible muscles need targeted attention to loosen up and recover. Johnny takes a very clinical approach to figuring out what hurts, where it’s tight, and how to make it feel better. You will walk out of his office feeling renewed. Highly recommended!

Johnny stands out as a gregarious masseur who knows his stuff and knows his customers with exceptional expertise. He spends a significant amount of time getting to understand the idiosyncrasies of your body, your pain and discomfort, and what you want to accomplish. No part of his care is a throwaway gesture; everything is calculated to produce results and move your body closer to your goals. He’ll adjust the speed and depth of your therapy to the level you desire, and will tolerate no half measures from himself. What is so evident is that the most important thing to Johnny is ensuring craft is executed with precision and effectiveness to your greatest benefit.
He has worked hard to make the experience soothing, with a dimly lit room, his own artful essential oil combos, and a better than average massage bed. He is flexible with his schedule, and will work around yours as much as possible.
As a long time runner and beginner crossfitter at 38 I couldn’t have been asking for more trouble. He’s been able to get me to a place where it is once again a pleasure to lay down in bed and go to sleep. His focus on improving the range of motion of my hip flexors and quads has been intense, but the results have been speedy and powerful. With his help, I can actually take my kids skiing for two days and feel no discomfort at all. Can’t recommend North County Massage Pros enough.

I knew the first time Johnny worked on me, that he’s a true expert who intuitively knows how to work with the body to undo serious knots. (My husband also said the same thing after his first treatment.) Johnny approaches each patient as an individual with an eagerness to see progress and help your body heal.
I’ve been to many massage therapists over 20 years. Johnny is in league with only one other sports therapy center (in Canada) where I received lasting help from. I’m 61, work out hard, cycle, and sit long hours at work. Knots and injuries happen and Johnny knows how to untie them and help you heal.

My Husband and I have been coming to see Johnny for quite some time for severe back pain. This past year Johnny has also helped me gain relief from Frozen shoulders.
Now he is also seeing our (2) boys after high school football practice. Johnny works wonders!!!

I cannot recommend Johnny enough. I pinched a nerve in my back from weightlifting and was in tremendous pain and could barely sit or stand. Johnny is a true healer, I felt like he couldn’t rest until my pain was relieved. He was flexible in his schedule to get me seen and after the first treatment I felt a significant decrease in pain and more flexibility. By the second treatment, 3 days later, the entire issue was resolved and I was back in the gym training. This is serious therapy people. I am so glad our paths crossed! This man is golden and blessed.

As others have mentioned before me, he worked tirelessly, with a great attitude and incredible knowledge as to how best heal each of our 13 year old soccer players. He made the boys, many of whom had never received a massage before, feel safe and comfortable, something any parent would want. And the resulting stamina, speed and lack of pain the following day would make any sports enthusiast want to make Johnny their personal masseuse. Where do I begin? We brought a soccer team. yes an entire 13 year old boys soccer team to Oceanside to compete in Nationals and we needed a good PT/​Masseuse to stretch the boys out and massage them after 1st day of matches. Johnny came to our hotel with table, set it up on the grass under a palm tree and worked tirelessly for 4.5 hours working through each boy’s troubled areas. He was so incredibly knowledgeable and explained everything to parents. On top of all of that, Johnny is truly a nice guy. He gave the same energy to the first boy as he did the last! Johnny’s work paid off in the biggest way with a WIN for our boys Sunday morning! I highly recommend him and we will definitely use him again the next time we play down south with our kids!

Our boys’ U-​13 soccer team was playing a tournament in Oceanside this weekend and Johnny came to our hotel where he spent hours giving each of our players individual treatment that did absolute wonders.
Whether the boys were just fatigued or carrying an injury, Johnny knew exactly what to do and had excellent advice for all of us.
The boys and parents were all very impressed and are looking forward to next trip down south.

I was able to walk again! I contacted Johnny on a Friday night (late) and was pleasantly surprised that He went out of his way to see me early Saturday morning. Entering Into the appointment I was in a ton of pain and barley able to walk but after leaving his office I was able to move again! He was extremely kind in answering all my questions as well as explaining every move preformed, what part of the body it affected, and how it helped. It was nice to know what was going on and why I was initially in pain. After the message Johnny walked me though different movements and workouts I could do to both stretch and strengthen my lower back (it’s things like that that take the appointment to a whole new level). He is both passionate and professional and I am incredibly thankful for His work, I look forward to my next visit.

I’m an old baseball player turned triathlete with plenty of past injuries. Now I’m just looking to stay mobile. Johnny is the best.
He is able to incorporate some of the best attributes of a chiropractor and physical therapist into his massage therapy.
I usually go to his place in San Marcos after a busy week hobbling into his office and I leave rejuvenated! I’m thankful that I don’t have to shop around any more for quality care and a place with the right ambiance.

Johnny is the BEST! I have been seeing Johnny for over 3 years now. When I started with him I was considering having surgery on my shoulder. I had cortisone shots and PT nothing was helping with the pain. Johnny worked on my shoulder and after two visits I was back to 95% feeling so much better. I was referred to Johnny from my chiropractor, Dr. Olinger (next door to A Quiet Place). He recommended that I get deep tissue work to help with relieving pain, and to help the adjustments hold better and longer. I was reluctant to try another massage therapist, since I have not had much luck finding one that really does deep tissue work. Finally, I have found a therapist that truly does deep tissue work! Johnny uses a variety of effective techniques to get serious results. He really loves what he does, and it shows. I now try to combine my chiro. appts. with a massage, and finally feel like I am making progress with some long term injuries and muscle spasms. The studio is clean, calming, and soothing. I am very happy to have found Johnny at A Quiet Place, and feel very comfortable recommending him — a great massage!

I got a massage from Johnny yesterday and it was an awesome experience. Not only is he is a gifted masseur with great technique, he relational and has a great way of interacting with others. The facility is far nicer than I was expecting… very clean, soothing, and peaceful. The massage was both relaxing and therapeutic. He applied the prefect amount of pressure. So I am new to massages and have been going to A Quiet Place for almost a year and was referred to Johnny last week and he gave me an amazing massage and I am now hooked! I have been living with a back injury since 2007. With this I lost much strength and ROM. Most physical therapists, doctors and massage therapists have not made much improvement. My husband and I recently moved to California. Soon I found Johnny who has in just a few months has made a huge difference. My ROM is almost completely back. The pain is less, flexibility and strength has increased.

Johnny rocks at giving sports therapy massages. I really needed a step above the standard deep tissue for my rib /​scapula which were popped out of place. He knew exactly where to go, wasn’t afraid to dig in there and when I left I felt like a pile of jelly.
He got into some of my thicker muscles too such as my hamstrings and glutes, which were built up from years of running, surfing, swimming etc and improper stretching. As Johnny said to me,… «You came in to get fixed!» Worth every penny, don’t go anywhere else, especially if your an athlete.
