The cardamom latte was delicious. It’s the only thing I’ve tried, but would definitely go back when I’m in the area.

I loved the look of the place, but the building has a strong, unpleasant odor. This place has great potential, but in desperate need of a cleaning. Also, I ordered a cappuccino and was given a latte. Super disappointed.

Best coffee in Escondido, no question about it. Music can be just a little loud for personal study. Prices are steep, but you get what you pay for. Their Ethiopian pour over is my favorite coffee I’ve had to date.
Can’t say much about the food because I’ve never tried it. Also no idea about any of the blended/​flavored drinks. But as far as their pour over, French press and drip coffees, they are fantastic.

The playlist is too much lol, not relaxing at all lmao. Living on a Prayer was playing, now its Eye of the Tiger? I am cracking UP!!! But yeah the music sucks for a coffee shop setting. The Kyoto cold brew is weird, but I also drowned it in honey and sugar before I even drank any. It tasted acidic anyways. Staff was fine, cute atmosphere, would definitely come back if I lived in Escondido. They have a lot of books, some board games and playing cards too.
Its really hard to focus on my reading with people laughing at the music.

Boyfriend & I thought to check out this little place in Downtown Escondido instead our usual A Delight of France spot. It’s a cute little spot. No much of a welcoming of a «hello» unless you seem to be a regular of the place. We didn’t let us stop us from ordering our lattes & breakfast panini’s. Prices seem reasonable like any breakfast place we’d go to but it would be great if they included some sort of side dish like fruits with the panini’s for what it’s worth. We’re thinking the place use local ingredients for how the place was set up. So we got our number & sat anywhere. We picked to right by the window. They called out that our lattes ready. They were ok for the vanilla & caramel lattes we got. Tasted a bit bitter & could of used more sugar. The design on the lattes wasn’t consistent either since my boyfriend had a pretty heart & mine was just a circle. We wanted about 15min more till they arrive with our food. It looked delicious! I customized my fancy panini a bit more & it was delicious. Boyfriend loved his after being happy that they carried Tapatio. While enjoying our food we noticed food delivery arriving to the place & our thought of local ingredients went out the window seeing the delivery guy bring in Costco. Haha we can’t hate on it too much since Costco does have great ingredients. We just thought for the worth of everything we got it would be from fresh local farms. All in all we’ll come back if we do feel for a good panini. Wish they can do half panini’s.

Love coming here for a quick iced cold brew and to get some work done. The staff have been so friendly each visit. I know that they have like an open mic night on the one of weekdays so that’s pretty cool if you are a musician, poet, comedian etc.
Great location on Grand Ave with lots of regulars and cool people!

This place makes me want to drive to Escondido every day. Easy going staff with a great sitting area. Free Wi-​Fi.

It was complicated to get a cup of coffee, just coffee. The price of a cup of coffee in CA is silly. It was an OK cup of coffee. Just OK. Beans are over roasted and coffee is high in acidity. Customer service is good. Tables and chairs are clean. Hard to find a seat. Always full of campers here. It is quiet except for one person chatting up a date. He was obnoxious and me and my friend had to move to outside seating.

Such a little gem of a place hidden away in Escondido. I had to wait longer than I cared for to get my mango iced tea which wasn’t really worth it but quenched my thirst regardless. Service was fantastic. The staff took their time with me considering it was my first time there and apologized profusely for the lag on getting my iced tea to me. I had their coffee cake warmed up which was really just disappointing to me since the crumb to cake ratio was WAY off and it lacked any real flavor. The ambience and staff make up for any lack of flavor I didn’t get from my cake and tea, enough so that I’ll definitely be back to give other menu items a chance.

After messaging the owner of this business with several complaints, we tried to visit this place again. Since its Across the street from our office, it’s convenient. Nobody from the office even goes here anymore because they never even answer the phone. I asked them today & he says «phones aren’t really our priority» really??? Is the owner aware of how much business they’re losing? On today’s visit to the coffee shop my co worker order a kale salad that I set high expectations for! Last time I had it, it was great, beautiful presentation! This time my co worker got a slob of spinach. Never again, and it’s such a shame because this place has potential.

I love this place but it’s always busy so get there early for a seat in the mornings or afternoons. I got the horchata latte and a hot coco with vanilla pumps. Lastly make sure you specify exactly what you want in your drinks. But over all great atmosphere great energie great drinks (:

This place has its cute local coffee shop charm! I love the overall ambiance of the place, the seats inside and out (especially the rocking chairs), the customer service was excellent and the music was a good selection.
The only downfall was the cost. Definitely pricey and the matcha chai latte was okay. Not the best I’ve ever had. My husbands cold brew that I stole a sip from was delicious!
The caprice paninis were delicious but took 15 mins to make. So if you’re getting them to go make sure you make time for it!

Great coffee, great baristas, great service.
Plenty of board games, power outlets, tables, etc.
Good social and study atmosphere.
Shout out to Charlie Davis’ latte art. Even with almond milk it’s phenomenal.

It’s pricey.
Everything about Kettle Coffee & Tea is great. The coffee is amazing. The ambiance is great, with the sidewalk seating or the comfy chairs by the fireplace. Their wi-​fi is strong. And for the most part, I’ve had really great service.
It’s just pricey.
Every now and then they have live music, which just adds to the great kick-​back vibe.
I usually order cold espresso drinks, and without a doubt, they are delicious. But for $ 5+ dollars, I’d like more than a 16-​oz size. Maybe a 24-​oz? Because 16 ounces of coffee that good gets polished off in five minutes. And I want to stay and hang out.

Really cute place– nice urban yet comfy atmosphere. The staff was very friendly. The avocado toast was yummy! Great place to sit and chill. I live in Murrieta and I wish we had a place like this! I’ll definitely be back

Adorable shop; there’s nothing else like it in Escondido! …Which is why they are pricey…
They have an awesome variety of flavored drinks, and most flavors are made in house. Their coffee is of the «bright» variety, which isn’t my taste, but the Lattes are great! Lavender lattes & mojito iced tea are some of my faves.
I got a London Fog this time, however, that was such a disappointment especially since it’s a classic drink; it tasted like black tea & milk, no bergamot. I spent an extra few dollars to have someone else dump milk in a cup of tea when I could have just gotten a tea bag & done it myself at the bar.
The acai bowls are amazing! Best homemade granola! It is the soupy kind of acai bowl, not sorbet, which is totally fine & good; just fyi. However, unlike every other café I have ever been to, they charge outrageous prices for every topping outside the basic berries & granola. It’s just not an acai bowl without bananas, coconut, & bee pollen.
Wifi is great. It’s usually packed, any time or day of the week. Variety of seats to work standing or sitting. Outdoor seating is adorable. Pastries are good.
I’ve had to remind the baristas about my order more than once, even maybe every 3 times I visit; most of the time, the staff acts like they have better things to do.
My review is 3 stars for prices & staff. Some baristas are great, but others are so bad… Compared to North County’s other great coffee shops like Perks, Pannikin, & Vinaka, the prices & staff don’t compare.

Let’s face facts, Starbucks is a coffee factory. Sure, you’ll get a consistent product in a timely fashion (most of the time) but their uniformity can be downright boring sometimes. However there are times when I want to try something bold and innovative. I think I found what I’m looking for here at Kettle Coffee and Tea.
The first time I was here I jumped at the chance to order their Spiced Chai Latte. When they said it was full of fresh ginger they weren’t kidding. I like ginger drinks so this was right up my alley, and probably one of the most unique chai concoctions I’ve ever had. On my second visit to Kettle I ordered the Horchata Latte. That was another new beverage I’ve never had before and more justification on why Kettle gets a solid four star rating.
The customers at Kettle are the artsy types with their dark rimmed glasses and sketch pads. Not particularly friendly as they all seemed self absorbed with their work. The Barista however was both cheerful and helpful.
If I had a recommendation I’d stick with the hot drinks. The cold drinks come off as too sweet.

We rarely come to this part of town so it was a real treat to have stumbled across Kettle Coffee & Tea in downtown Escondido. I honestly didn’t know Grand Ave had so many cool & cozy restaurants/​pub like eateries/​coffee shops. Kettle Coffee & Tea had an open front patio that was inviting.
The staff working there that day was great as they were helpful and offered us samples of their cold brew. We went with the Kyoto cold brew which was $ 3.50 I think for the smaller size. Not a bad cold brew but perhaps a bit more acidic than I’d prefer. There’s a nice condiment station with milks, sugars, and honey.
The coffee shop seems large yet comfortable inside. Most of the tables and chairs were occupied so I’m assuming this coffee shop must be popular. I’d absolutely come back again and try another coffee. Don’t forget to get a punch card for your coffee purchase (you get a free coffee after ‘x’ amount of purchases).

Stopped by here for a quick bite to eat while running errands. This place could’ve been better. I ordered the acai bowl, which was alright. It was topped with strawberries, granola and blueberries. Standard. Pretty soup like tho, not thick at all. My aunt ordered the veggie panini and had to alter her sandwich because they didn’t have the pesto. The sandwich was ok, but was still lacking the listed ingredients on the menu.
Service was nice and they were apologetic, but pretty slow.

I heard their lattes bring all the boys to their yard so im like… I better give this place a shot. I have to be honest I hate warm/​hot coffee, I’ve never been a coffee drinker and I never will be. However I do enjoy cold drinks such as iced coffees and iced lattes, but then again im not crazy about them.
Ive been to this place twice now. The first time I came by there was a classical guitarist playing which added so much to the ambience. This saturday though around 10:30 it was pretty crowded.
I have to say I am really digging their decore. Everything from the brick wall to the unfinished ceiling. It is all just amazing. They have a back area with board games and a small library, oh yeah and a fireplace! The outside seating is very nice as well. They sell growlers here! I thought it was awesome because ive only seen thees in breweries, but then again these guys are real roasters.
The good is pretty darn good too we had the breafast sandwich, for 4 bucks you can’t go wrong.
I had the iced Horchate Latte, call me Mexican but I love horchata! So when I saw this I made up my mind in a second. I was pretty disappointed, I was expecting that horchata flavor but I didn’t get it at all. Too bad. Good thing is I got 10% off of it by checking in on Unilocal!
The staff is super friendly tho. Everyone knows everyone! Customers came in and they knew them by name. I felt wierd so next time ill wear a name tag and im goal setting to have the pwner buy me my next cup of latte in the near future. No jk ill buy my own I dont want him getting the wrong idea.
All in all this is a pretty solid place with alot going for them. I will definitely be a regular here.
