Holiday Wine Cellar

Found out about this place from some friends and fell in love once I found out about the beer cave! They have a very extensive collection of beer and wines that any connoisseur would go crazy over. They have rare Belgium beers and German beers that I was most impressed with. Very fair prices. They also have tasting room downstairs. Staff is super friendly and knowledgeable. They have there own parking lot which makes it easy to find park. This a place you should be checking out if are in North county area for sure!

Best liquor store in North County. They have almost anything you’re looking for. And if not, they find something comparable for you which is just as good. Checking out the wine cellar downstairs is a must, it’s amazing seeing all the aged wines down there and trying to find the oldest. The staff is super friendly and helpful, and is very knowledgeable.

This place is a candy shop for anyone who likes alcohol, its has a great selection and the staff are always helpful, always on my list to visit regular to find unusual beers

If you’re on the hunt for a particular alcohol, this place is probably your best bet.
After discovering an amazing beer at a local gastropub, I was devastated to hear they were tapped out! I asked the bartender where I could possibly buy bottles of the beer & he recommended this place to me. I tried calling Bevmo, grocery stores, & another liquor store beforehand, but had no luck. This place was the last place I was going to call & they said they had 7 bottles left!
This place is huge! Rows & rows of liquor & beer & a wine cellar. They also had a large, walk-​in refrigerated section.
Definitely check out this place to purchase alcohol or if you’re on the hunt for something particular.

This place has everything. I even found a Fife wine the last time I was here (which is my last name) and I had to buy it. Lol

This place has everything you can think of or want. I noticed the beer and spirit tastings sign outside. Any place that has this scores cool points in my book. When you walk in on the right side of the store they have a little tasting area they have different items depending on the day.
We were greeted by an employee at the register, and we were asked if we needed any help, just told him we were browsing, and that it was my first time. I was amazed with all the alcohol they have in the store, and how neat everything was set up. As you continue walking there’s a wine section by the spiral staircase, yes they have another floor which sets them apart from most places. Along side the wall by the wine is a walk in cooler for beer, cider ales, etc. Very unique atmosphere. Loved the setup, tasting area, and wine room, everything was so well organized, makes things easy for what your specifically looking for. Exiting the cooler theres an area where they have self serve wine machines, I think you just get a prepaid card and swipe over the wine you want, and enjoy. (That’s how the ones in San Diego work). The room has stools so you can sit and relax, barrels for décor, and wine art on the wall seems very peaceful.
Going downstairs there’s more wine from different regions, etc. A different employee asked if we needed help, and we again said we were browsing, but thank you. Very good customer service. I will definitely recommend this place to family, friends, coworkers. Can’t wait to go back!

Holy Smokes! the mecca of everything booze
I thought Bevmo was the best place to go for anything alcoholic beverage related… boy was I wrong. When you Enter Holiday Wine Cellar it appears to be a small place but as you venture further in, you are taken on a magical trip through Booze-​Topia! They have it all! and if they don’t they’ll make sure to get it for you… they even had a grip of Modern Times special brew. Currently (like right now) they have Pineapple Sculpin from Ballast Point.
I know those were mainly micro brews, although ballast is big now, but whatever, they also have a very extensive selection of wine, liquor and select cigars. If you’re ever in the mood for having something special to drink, I suggest you check this place out, chances are they’ll probably have it. I will definitely be a return customer, very happy with the variety and prices.

I have been going to this store since I was 5 years old, back in 1977. The place is like traveling back in time. Is has not changed one bit. Amazing variety’s of everything you can possibly think of quality stuff and friendly staff. I always spend a good amount of time browsing the store before buying something totally different than the last time I was there. Even though this is in California they actually have a «CELLAR» ! ! there are no cellars or basements in this state period. So its really cool. =) ENJOY!

This is a five star review for a dying breed. Holiday is a true local liquor store– not a corner market with a beer cooler and liquor and playboys behind the counter. Good selection– not BevMo selection– but how could it and stay a small independant? Knowledgeable friendly staff.

The selection here is great. There’s a ton of options for beer, wine and all different liquors. The staff has always been very helpful and they do have a rewards program which is pretty nice. The only thing is some of the alcohol can definitely be a lot more expensive than going to Vons or Stater Bros. I definitely recommend coming here for different alcoholic drinks that you can’t find in most stores but overall the common drinks will likely be more expensive.

Saw this in San Diego Magazine. They have a great selection of booze! I have found a bottle there I can’t find any where else !! (Pearl, Cucumber Vodka) My husband finds his fancy rum there.

I don’t normally rave about liquor/​wine/​spirit stores, but this place is fantastic!
They have a nice variety of different kinds of alcohol for the size of their location. They also assemble gift baskets for any occasion but usually during the holidays. They have pre-​made gift baskets that include wine, dried fruit, nuts, and other fun snacks. If you don’t see a gift basket that you like, you can request they custom make a basket for you and charge you accordingly.
My favorite part of this location is the wine cellar that is downstairs. Any «wino» will fully appreciate the collection of wines kept down there. The best part of the wine cellar, there is an elaborate wine tasting room, which has wines installed into drink dispenser-​like machines. They pour the same amount each time you set your glass underneath the spicket. You’ll also want to notice that there is a price for each «tasting». When I asked about it, the people working the wine tasting told me that you can purchase a card (upstairs) that has any amount of money on it, then you can come down to the wine cellar and taste away!
They also mentioned that a lot of people will purchase tasting cards with various amounts of money on them and give them to other people as gifts. What a nice gift idea for the wine enthusiast!
Make sure to try this place out!

Smaller interior packed with tough to find wine, beer, and liquor; secret bottom floor
Knowledgeable staff, weekly tastings, a wine tasting machine downstairs, online store, mostly refrigerated beer tells me that this store is run the right way. Found tons of cool stuff: Cisco Pechish Woods, Monomoy Kriek, Logsdon, Hopfenstark, Modern Times, usual suspects, expensive Evil Twin, Mikkeller, other Norwegian and Danish imports. Liquor wise found Bruichladdich Black Art 4.1 for $ 330, so there’s that. Prices not so bad. Reminds me a lot of an upgraded La Bodega, the best beer store in Riverside CA. Will be coming back often as this is the best bottle shop that I know of in my area besides Texas Liquor in Carlsbad.

Really solid fan of the staff and their selection. They do a great job of procuring some harder to find whiskeys and spirits. Actually trekked out out here to track down something specific I was looking for. Probably one of the well selected stores in the greater San Diego area, BUT what I will say is that you are going to pay a bit of a premium for the price. Just from perusing around and understanding what’s in the market, you’ll be paying about a 10−20% premium over some other retailers around town.
I think generally if you’re in the area it’s not a bad choice– the other places that I frequent around the Southern California area are a bit further away and if you had to account for shipping– it may turn out be negligible. Then again; Escondido is not exactly the middle of all the action; so the lower volume probably necessitates the prices. Think of these guys like the Whole Foods if booze. A bit of a premium, but it is nice to have one spot for all your goods.

They have a really large and good selection of craft beer. I like that they had a lot of stuff I have never heard about. They also had a really good selection of liquor. Whatever you are looking for I am sure they have

I come here for the secret wine tasting room downstairs. It’s a great opportunity to taste different wines prior to purchasing. They also have specials on Sundays – sorry, I have no idea what the exact special is for the tasting room because I’ve always been treated by a very generous friend :) You can sign up for emails and keep up with their monthly specials.
The other thing I like is the variety of different hard liquor. I like to get flavored vodka and they have all brands and an extensive variety of each. The staff is friendly and helpful. One guy even looked up cocktail recipes for me when I was eyeing the jalapeño flavored stoli.

This has been on my list of places to visit in North County for wine selection recommended by personal friends. I finally was in the area and decided to check it out, what and incredible selection of wine in the two story store !! Even cooler was on the lower floor they have an Enomatic wine serving system where you can purchase a prepaid card to sample all the wines. How cool is this? You literally can purchase each of the wines by the ounce to find wines you might not otherwise try.
This is a great little place to select wines; they also have other spirits and beers. I did see a humidor as well but was so blown away by the wine selection I did not take a look. I will be back !!
