I feel like I was a little deceived by . The pictures were beautiful. They made the motel appear idyllic. However, upon arrival, you can see that it is certainly not. You don’t know until you arrive that the motel is located on a busy corner intersection that is teeming with shady characters and the frequent police and/or ambulance siren. My first indication was the two shady fellows checking out my car as I pulled into the parking lot. The second was the fact that the hotel manager stays behind a glass partition the entire time, and you can barely hear him when he speaks. The third was the smell I was greeted with when I open the door to the room. It was musty and the room was thick with heat. The wall air conditioner did not work very well either. I am a LOVER of baths. This is the number one thing I look for when booking a hotel: THETUB. The bathroom was very pretty, but we had to call the manager to come and fix the bath tub because it wouldn’t hold any water. Also, the sheets were rather itchy. I give it two stars for effort, but given the chance, we won’t be back here.

After a long day at Legoland and a visit to my brother, who lives nearby, my husband and I decided to get a room and call it a night. This was a first choice as it was just down the street. We book our room and continue to enjoy our evening with the family. After all our fun had been expelled we head back to our room. First things first, I hit the little ladies room to only be greeted by a plethora of roaches. And I mean these suckers where everywhere. On the toilet, sink, floorboards, tub, and even the damn toilet paper. I leave the bathroom in a hurry and proceed to tell my husband«there is roaches everywhere babe, this is disgusting.» Only to hear a reply of «yeah, I just pulled the covers back and they were on the pillows» This is unacceptable! He goes downstairs to tell management of this issue, which I’m sure they were aware of the problem. At first, they tried to offer up another room. «We will move you into a new room» Um excuse me? No! If one room has roaches, THEYALLDO!!! We paid $ 85 and a $ 5 key deposit to sleep in these deplorable conditions. I think not. After my husband arguing with the manager for about ten minutes for a refund, I had to go and yell at him that I wanted refund because I was not having my children sleep in these conditions. It worked. We got all our money back and ended up having a better night thanks to our friends over at the Quality Inn. The only reason I am giving them one star is because giving them no stars isn’t an option. After this I will be call the city of Escondido code enforcement a call. These conditions are deplorable and substandard. For the rates they are charging there shouldn’t be roaches!

This place Is located on a very busy corner of you can hear every car on the street not mention sirens all night the AC only would come on every 30 minutes or so the room was very warm. It is located in between 2 thrift store and has about 8 parking spots. We got back to the room before dark and didn’t come out till daylight. The man who owns this place is very nice and the room was nice and clean and I wish his business does well but I wouldnt feel right if I didnt post an honest review and a family stays here and something happened.

Mike at Escondido Inn gets 5 stars because he keeps his hotel the cleanest I have ever seen. It’s a low-cost inn so don’t expect the most expensive TVs or anything like that, but Mike and his family keep this hotel running well, efficient, and they are all so super nice. I arrived after checking the price and feel of two other Inns/hotels and was about to leave when Mike insisted I see a room before I make my decision. He was right, I stayed there almost a week. I now live in Escondido which was the point of my stay, to have a nice location, close to everything and the freeway to see where I wanted to place my roots out here. I love Escondido Inn!
