Escondido Auto Tech is THE BEST! I took my car in because the check engine light was on. As it turned out the issue it was having was probably still under the manufacture warranty. I didn’t even think about that but Escondido Auto Tech did! They even called the dealership to confirm the warranty on that particular part. So even though they were losing business, they wanted to do the right thing for us! I will be taking my car to them for all oil changes etc in the future. You can’t go wrong with them. They are kind, professional and above all, the customer truly comes first :)

Absolutely love bringing my vehicle to EAT!
Brought my van in to have the brakes checked and routine oil change. They drove me home while they did the work and picked me up when it was done. They called with their diagnoses, options and prices for each option. They never push any extra expenses and ONLY tell you the facts. They a great professionals!
They also appreciate their military and offer a discount.
Love, love, love this place and will miss them when we move!

This place was so helpful. I thought I had brake trouble, it turned out a rock was just stuck in my router. They were so nice and I didn’t feel pressured like most mechanics make me feel! Very pleased with my first experience. And I will be recommending them for sure!

These guys are awesome (a little pricey) but again I drive a Volkswagen. So parts cost an arm and a leg. But great old school customer service and so laid back. Won’t even think of another garage again.

Amazing experience. Let’s just say I am not so savvy when it comes to explaining car «noises». I called Frank who intently listened to my ridiculous monologue, only to find out his earliest appointment was 6 days away. No worries, he had a recommendation for another shop he trusted for transmission work. I took the appointment anyway. He asked if I could drive by so we could take a ride and listen to the problem. He could get an idea and order parts for the following week. One test drive later and an inspection later, we have an answer. Thinking I am bringing my car back next week, how surprised am I when he asks if I can leave it today? Sure I can! Frank says it will be ready the following day. Too late in the day to get the parts. He gives me 2 options, differently priced and explains the benefits of each. I make my choice and am on my way. Awesome! My car is going to be done tomorrow. I was thinking next week! Color me more surprised when 3 hours later, frank calls and says my car is ready! BUT they close in 10 minutes and I am 20 minutes away. So what does Frank say to make my day even better, «I will wait for you. Just come down. The shop will be closed but I will be in the office. «But wait it gets better… I arrive to a closed shop, Frank is patiently waiting, proceeds to run my card to pay for the work, and the bill is $ 60 LESS than he quoted me!!! He found the parts in town to save the overnight shipping charge. Could this guy be any more epic, no I don’t think so. I followed my gut thinking anyone that would refer me somewhere else because he didn’t have the time for my car that day, would be the guy I needed to be patient for and wait for to fix what I didn’t know was broken. Turns out I was right. Excellent work, car is fixed, of course. Frank was honest, fair, extremely patient, and unbelievably friendly. Every car we own will be in Frank’s care going forward, I can’t recommend him highly enough.

These guys are the best. They do great work and have old school customer service. They take pride in the work they do and how they treat their customers.

My car was having issues starting up, wasn’t smelling to hot and it was making some not-​so-​normal noises, so when I took it to EAT for a diagnosis I feared the worst and I prepared my wallet for a little downsizing. When I got the call from Jim that it was just a very minor repair and it would only set me back $ 60, needless to say I was a little elated! Not only did they fix the issue, but they were honest and affordable which are two traits not normally associated with Mechanics. I will be back for sure and would recommend these guys to anyone!

Had an issue unresolved after two trips to another shop. Now wish I’d looked up these guys are Unilocal first! They are 5-​star awesome and nailed it, returned the car on time, and it cost a bit less than they originally estimated. For great quality and friendly service, take your care out to EAT! I’ll definitely be returning here for my next service.

I feel comfortable with these guys. THey are very knowledgeable, will tell you specifics of the diagnosis, the costs, and how immediate you would need to take care of something. They are not there to rip you off like some of the auto dealer mechanics are. They actually want you to save money but also drive home in a working car. Super relaxed atmosphere, i will be going here until the Pathfinder no longer can find paths.

I found E.A.T. here on Unilocal.Drove from fallbrook to check out this 5 star rating establishment. I was not disappointed. Great customer service! I was in and out and was not pressured into anything like these other auto places.
Frank gave me the discount that I didn’t expect to get. This place is great. I’ll come back.

Came here for a quick smog check since Unilocal had a few good reviews.
I had a coupon for another location but Unilocal reviewers had a no-​go for it so just decided to come over to get my smog done here.
I’m glad I did!
Arrived and waited a few minutes to be greeted by Frank but that’s somewhat to be expected in a smaller shop with no receptionist. We spoke briefly and he said he’s already booked up for the day so I offered to wait and see if any of his bookings don’t show up. He decides to take my car in right away which is more than I expected, great customer service.
His lobby had a coffee machine and I helped myself (no Starbucks run today) and when he writes everything he offers me some water. I brought in my tablet to read something but I didn’t have a chance, while I was waiting it had a very nice conversation with him, saw an old time customer come in with some issues he had with another car, left happy. Another old time customer comes in to pick up an SUV and she didn’t get overcharged and got some good advice telling from the conversation.
I saw another old time customer come in and not only did she get great customer service and solid advice on her car, she also didn’t get charged for whatever she brought the car in for!
It was great to see a mechanic care about the customers he has and have such a great attitude about things. I will go there again when I need something done!

Escondido Auto Tech was given the challenge of smogging our 96 Honda Accord w 210,000 mi that would not pass due to some incomplete «Self Tests». Two previous smog stations told us to «drive it». After about 800 mi and no pass possible, Jim and Frank and their team figured out why! During recent radio theft, the thief cut some wire that also fed the lifeblood energy to the ECM (auto computer lingo). They traced the problem, got it all fixed up and smogged for us at a reasonable price!
Very nice shop– clean, personable and honest– We will be back!

I had a 7:30 appt. even though I work earlier than that. The owner was there and let me leave my car at 7am!
Finished fast, didn’t overcharge me, and I felt comfortable with him. I’ll definitely go back!
