Went to get an American traditional dagger from Grant. He did an amazing job, I am extremely happy with the design he drew up and the colors are perfect. All around a great experience and Grant was extremely nice and personable. Couldn’t be happier.

I had a GREAT experience with Andy. He has great prices, a great personality, and he gave me a great quality tattoo. He knows what he’s talking about, and he’ll be honest about what he thinks will look the best. So happy with my tattoo

I chose DermalGrafix based on all the positive reviews and I’m so glad I got my tattoo here. The place was super clean and had great ambiance. Grant was really nice and welcoming and very talented. He took his time making sure the colors and everything looked good. I’m very happy with the final outcome and will absolutely recommend this place and Grant! I will most definitely be coming back.

I totally recommend this place Andy is so chill and makes sure you are comfortable and is extra clean and thorough I had my nipples pierced by him a few weeks ago and they came out awesome so when I decided to have my VCH done I automatically went back to him. Very professional if you are in the Escondido area he is the man to go to and I’ll most definitely will me recommending him to my friends and family if they ever are interested in getting it done. He also will be the first person to contact when I decide to get my tattoos his artwork is amazing.

Marlaina was the BEST! I went in yesterday, told her my idea and she nailed it! She drew up exactly what I had in mind even better! Great line work and saturated color. I highly recommend her and will be back for sure! Thank you Marlaina!

I have gotten multiple tattoos with Marlaina Mortati and would be happily tattooed by any artist at this shop. The enviroment is friendly, professional, and does not have the usual «tattoo shop machismo» that makes a lot of shops uncomfortable.
Marlaina is super kind and helpful with ideas and always does whats best for the client and the tattoo.

I came here just to browse possible artists, I needed a cover up but also wanted to start planning a pretty extensive sleeve and leg tattoo. After seeing some of Marlaina’s art work I got situated with her and we have been discussing pieces of my future tattoos at length.
She even touched up another tattoo that I liked but clearly lacked detail by the previous tattooist I went to in NC.
Marlaina was and continues to be very professional, helpful and attentive. She has been friendly every time I’ve contacted her with new ideas and things I want to get done (and believe me, it’s pretty often).
She understands my concerns due to the carelessness of my previous tattooist and has been helpful with every step. I can’t wait to get started on our giant masterpiece together.

Excellent experience. Tattoos are permanent, so making a choice for an establishment is not easy, at least for me. I will be honest, I searched Unilocal to see what might be worth my while. Dermalgrafix has nearly five stars all across the board. I went in as a walk-​in, and though the artists were busy, Kenny — a tattoo artist and piercer — came out to ask what I was looking for. I explained what I wanted — a simple yet meaningful phrase across my forearm in a particular font — and he gave me not only a round about estimate, but he also explained that his assessment was based on what I told him and that the price could change slightly once he had more specifics. I appreciated this because it avoided any surprises later. Kenny was succinct, amiable, and friendly. Not pretentious at all. He made sure I was comfortable and explained the process. Overall I’m very happy. Granted, I did not get anything overly detailed, but Kenny was still professional, concerned with my satisfaction, and serious about his work. I will be going to him when I get further work, no doubt. The parlor is small but unique. Very clean.

Andy is a phenomenal artist, and did great work in a short amount of time. He cares about patient comfort, and he’ll be real with you. He was also entertaining to talk to, we were never uncomfortable. My brother and I both love his work and would recommend him to anyone.

Kenny is freakin awesome! This guy cares about his work and his client. He has a chill personality and very friendly. Super refreshing to deal w someone that respects his business. I booked again w him next weekend

Liz James is my go to artist. She is absolutely amazing.
I’ve been here a total of three times now: 2 in the chair, and 1 as a witness.
Liz has done ²⁄₃ of my ink and ³⁄₃ of my boyfriends work. I’ll post photos of them later. All the artists in the shop are friendly, honest, and hardworking individuals. If they feel that your request is unreasonable or would need to be modified in order to look good on your skin, they won’t hold back. Their main goal is to make sure to give you art that will last, be clean, look damn good, and that you will be happy with in the long run. None of the games you may get from other artists just to get more money out of you.
I’ve been very happy with my ink and everyone compliments me on the quality of it. If I have an idea for a piece, I hit up Liz and I know I’ll be impressed and I always trust her judgement.
Make sure to book ahead! Liz is anywhere from 1 – 2 months in advance. Shop minimum is 100 – 120.

Great studio with amazing artists. Kenny took the time to really make sure my tattoo would look great before he even started with the tattoo. This shop is the most original place I have seen before and the service was great. I would recommend this studio to anyone looking for a tatoo.

Andrew did a 9+ hour dragon on my back, flawlessly. Then a 10 hour organic biomech half sleeve with a photo realistic eye. I will continue to go to him for a photo realism, crazy ideas, and black and grey.
Aaron is working on batman and villains a leg sleeve. About 30 hours in and it’s looking amazing.
Best shop in North county, might even go as far as to say they are the best in San diego county.
Haven’t had anything done by the other artists in this shop but all the portfolios are amazing. They also do piercings.

This shop is amazing! Grant did a small tattoo for me last night and consulted on a cover up and touch up. Grant is knowledgeable, patient, and a wonderful artist, I would highly recommend him. The tattooing areas are private and I really dug the rainforest café like theme. For longer tattoos they will even put on a movie for you.
As for the tattoo, I could hardly feel it. There was no ink transfer/​bleeding afterwards. The tattoo looks flush and like I’ve had it forever. I can’t wait to have him work on my other pieces!

If I could, I would give them more than 5 stars. I contacted Andrew via email initially and he was very responsive. He answered all the questions I had and was able to give me an estimate prior to an in-​person consult. It’s always great to have an idea of how much a service might cost you.
He was booked so it took about 2 weeks before we sat down and spoke but it was worth the wait. He was personable and was really interested in knowing what you would like to get tattooed. I had a design in mind already so he looked at that and made recommendations to make it even better. (Btw, you can ask him to design for you for a fee!)
Took about 2 – 3 weeks before he could see me again. During the inking process, he did his best to make me comfortable and he didn’t rush anything. He tried to distract me as much as he can (being that my pain tolerance is extremely low). He is very meticulous with his shading and the results is even better than I expected. People have been coming up to me complimenting the tattoo and I’ve made it a point to recommend him for those who are interested in getting a tattoo as well. If I ever get another tattoo, I’m totally going back to him!

Kenny did an awesome job on my memorial piece. The shadowing and detail on the dove he did was some of the best I’ve had. Not to mention I didn’t really know what I wanted he helped me figure it out and drew it up. He made sure it didn’t clash with my other tattoos but also remained a separate piece.
This place really cares about the customer and ensures you get exactly what you want. Definitely a comfortable and professional atmosphere, highly recommend this place.

Aaron has not even finished my tattoo and I’m in love. It took me about 6 months to find the right person to do my piece and Aaron is the man. He met and exceeded my expectations of what I wanted. The detail in his work is incredible as well. Very, very happy customer.
Going back next week to finish my piece up. I feel like a kid waiting for his birthday to come. Very excited.
