Best Western Escondido Hotel

Best Western Escondido gets 4 stars from me as they actually exceeded my expectations. We checked in after a long drive and took a «power nap» before heading out to Stone Brewing. Unfortunately our room on the second floor was less than awesome, kids were running down the hall and the other guests outside in the parking lot were loud as well. This room was barely above ground level of the parking lot and directly above the back hotel entrance. I think it was room #225, I would say this room and probably all the other on the second floor need dual pane window upgrades asap as just a normal conversational voice in that parking lot is perfectly audible inside the room with the windows closed and ac on. Well, the hotel receptionist reluctantly agreed to give us another room, I understood her resentment as we did mess up the room a little. I really did appreciate it as I did sleep dramatically better at night.

Exactly what I expected from Best Western. Rooms are clean, beds are super comfy, everything is in working order! Pool here is big, which is a plus for the kids. Hard boiled eggs and nuts for breakfast for me, plenty of waffles and muffins for the kids. For the price, it’s perfect!

Disgusting. Don’t EVEN bother stopping. The smell is something you won’t get out of your nose for while. This place is stuck in the 70’s. Can imagine anyone would give this a decent review… unless they are all false reviews from employees or the owner. Was happy to find the Residence Inn nearby, at a lower rate and absolutely beautiful rooms!

So much better than I expected. Stayed while working in SD and the staff was nice, the room was clean and smelled good, the bed was very nice and soft and hotel was quiet. Enjoyed my stay very much.

my family stayed here for 2 days this week and it as great, clean tidy, staff was great. continental breakfast was great and clean. near lots of shops and restaurants. i would come back again.

This is my second time staying here. I come because I have an event early the next morning close by. I always choose Best Western if I can. It’s a good value and just want I’m looking for, as this is not a vacation. The staff is always very friendly and nice. I don’t often give reviews but this is a very nice little hotel and worth a mention. It looks like they’ve renovated since I was last here, so that’s nice too.

We had a party of 8 people total stay here for a week.(3 different rooms, one a suite) I would rate it five stars IF it was a five star hotel, but it’s not. However, it’s a full four stars! The hotel was very clean and its run by really nice people. The breakfast isn’t fancy but they had cereal, toast, bagels, danishes, waffles and coffee, juice and milk. The lady that works in the breakfast area was really nice and willing to help with anything we needed. The front desk people were always very accommodating. Honestly, my thoughts are that if this hotel was in another area, as is, it would be rated higher. But this area of escondido isn’t the best so I think people walk in with a low expectation. For our big group, it exceeded ours!

We stayed here on 9÷29÷15 and I would highly recommend this hotel. The price was fair. There was easy access to the freeway and a gas station nearby. The staff was friendly at check in. Our room was on first floor and just outside was the spa and pool. There was plenty of parking. They said the breakfast would be ready at 6 am and when we checked out at 5:45 it was already out. There was a good selection of bagels, bread and pastries and plenty of beverages including juices to choose from. The room had USB ports for charging your electronics. We found the room spacious and clean and we will definitely be staying here again

We had 4 rooms for a long weekend. The hotel was pretty clean and the staff was friendly and helpful. The room keys are kind of weird and one of our rooms need new keys like 3 times, but other than that we had a nice stay. I would recommend.

I definitely didn’t feel like I was staying in a budget hotel. Everything was clean, spacious and they even had a pouch for the remote that claimed they freshly cleaned it! And, as many recent recent BuzzFeed articles show, the remote is the dirtiest part of the hotel room, so what a luxury.
I mostly wanted to write this review to thank Matt from the front desk, who helped my boyfriend and I out tremendously. Our reservation had been lost from a previous hotel, so we were left calling and trying to book hotels late on a Saturday night to no avail. I used
to book a room at the Best Western, and when we arrived, Matt told us they technically had no rooms left and that he had told
this three times already. However, he said they had a smoking room left that he had been airing out all day if we’d like to take that. He could not have been nicer and more accommodating. I’m so glad they had this extra room for us! And, honestly, the hotel wasn’t just nice as a last resort, it was a legitimately nice hotel to stay. Thanks, Matt!

So I stayed here for a couple nights and was thoroughly impressed with the room! The complimentary breakfast and Jacuzzi were amazing! Thanks Best Western! :)

We were in town for a funeral. Our family had several rooms. The hotel was great for all of us aged 3– 65. The motel is very clean, has updated décor anD has comfortable beds. It’s close to a freeway and local businesses yet felt quiet even at high capacity. Breakfast has enough variety in offerings to satisfy most needs but don’t look for hot biscuits or made to order omelettes. There isn’t a restaurant on site but many within a short drive. Every room has a refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker and hair dryer. Front desk clerk was friendly and accommodating.

It was nice for being a place we just can hang our hat but there were some issues like stains on the shower curtain and glass we found in our bed.

Really, really nice for the price. Staff was great, property was clean and well kept. Pool was nice. Breakfast bar is what you’d expect for budget hotel — but i’d totally stay there again.

Pleasantly surprised. Very, very clean and nicer than your average Best Western. The beds were comfy, the bathroom was nice; provided with the hotel’s choice of Pantene ProV shampoo and conditioner, there was even a «fresh remote.» The room had a good amount if accessible outlets for your charging needs. They also had straight USB ports.
They offered the comp breakfast as usual.
The only issue was parking later at night because they were fully booked. So claim your spot early.
Overall, the stay was nice.

Pretty standard Best Western hotel – the breakfast bar wasn’t bad.
I was staying here with my dad, so naturally I had the sofa bed (there were no two bedroom rooms available). My suggestion-​DO NOT STAY HERE IF YOU NEED TO SLEEP IN THE SOFA BED. I woke up with more back pain than I could have ever imagined from simply sleeping.
Everything in the room was fine, except for the fact that there were TONS of dead bugs on the windowsill… yikes. They never cleaned them off either – think that speaks for itself.

When I checked in, I thought it was pretty nice and the 3 star rating on Unilocal was a bit harsh. However, after spending two nights, I think it’s about right. It wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t anything great either, A-​OK. I was glad to have an elevator, but the entrance near my elevator had a few steps going down to it, which made no sense to me for travelers who need to bring in luggage, a ramp would seem more appropriate.
The room was decent, but the bed was older and not the most comfortable or supportive. I like soft beds, prefer them, but there’s a difference between softness and lack of support. Not the worst either, but it did hurt my back.
I went swimming one night. The pool was ok, but the hot tub was not hot. It was therefore pretty ineffective for trying to relax and loosen up before bed. It felt like a warm (not even close to hot) bath, and it was overfilled to the very top sloshing all over the whole deck area of the pool, wasting a lot of water.
I was pleased that they agreed to a late check out for 1 pm when I called to ask, but then at noon, when I was in the bath getting ready for the day, housekeeping started knocking wanting to know why I hadn’t checked out yet. I yelled to the door that I had a late check out, and they didn’t respond. Then the phone started ringing. Remember, I am in the bath! They called 3 times before I got out of the tub and answered it, at this point a bit angry, again told them I had the late check out, and finally was left alone. That was unnecessarily stressful. To be fair, similar things have happened elsewhere, but that doesn’t make it ok. Somebody either needs to make a note or somebody needs to check for notes before disturbing guests, especially guests displaying a DO NOT DISTURB sign.
Breakfast was ok. I’m on a diet that doesn’t allow grains, sugar, or processed foods, and couldn’t eat most of what they provide. The only options for me were a couple types of whole fruit, and boiled eggs. They did have some nice flavors of tea. Hot eggs and meat would be really nice, as many Best Westerns do serve those options.
Other than the harassment in the bath incident, the staff was good and friendly.
Location was very convenient.
I’d stay here again if it worked out that way, but wouldn’t go out of my way to do it. Especially not for the list rate, they’re charging for quality while providing mediocrity. For $ 100+ a night, you can at least have a good bed and hot hot tub elsewhere.

Clean and nice, what you would expect from BW. Service is consistently great. I stay in a lot of hotels and the beds are notably soft and I have stayed 3+ times. I happen to love soft beds. I’m not sure if some rooms have firm mattresses, you could call and ask. I thought the soft beds were worth writing a review about, in case you hate that (or love it like me!).

First of all, I have to say that Check-​in was AWESOME! We had Matt assist us and he had recommendations’ for everything from places to eat w/​directions, parking, and offered detailed explanations as he completed the process. He certainly made the experience smooth and simple.
We loved the Jacuzzi and pool and the bed was quite comfortable. Plenty of parking close to entry doors as well. Plus the pricing was fair! Truly, our only real negative was the cleanliness of the room and building. There was dirty fingerprints on the doors in our room and it smelled quite musty. There were lights missing in the ceiling and the elevator was in need of servicing; you had to push the button quite hard and several times to get a response.
We would stay again — but we did have to clean a bit before feeling comfortable relaxing.
