I use to come here all the time and then I moved to the bay area a year and a half ago, which BTW doesn’t have good Mexican food anywhere. Anyway, came here to get my fix. The food is still good as ever however, their hot sauce isn’t hot anymore. I use to drink their hot sauce like water. Now its kinda chunky and flavorless. I literally had to add tapatio sauce to it to add some type of hotness to it. So for that I’m giving them a 3 star. Here’s a tip though. Come to Alberto’s a week to a couple of days from Christmas and you get a free mug!

No customer service at all. It really hard to understand the employee over the drive through radio since his English is not well. The food is ok, for bring open 24 hours it’s really your only option. I like the green salsa and rolled tacos are ok. Needs a remodel for sure. I wonder if they pass health inspections!!!

WOW! They are always the best when we need to place a large order! Whenever we cater they are our go to for burritos! They are generous and always help me to my car! If you need burritos large order or small GOTOALBERTOS, they rock!

Not the best Mexican food but decent enough when craving Mexican food. The chips in the chips and guac were suuuuuper crunchy and yummy. But overall the cheese was cold and nothing melted. The carne asada burrito was okay, very bland not enough flavor. I ended up eating both so something had to taste good haha not too bad of a place but would probably choose a different place. Maybe they were having an off day.

Ordered the carne asada burrito and it was dry and flavorless. I had to eat it because I was really hungry and didn’t want to waste my money but I’m not going to come here again for Mexican food. Also the salsa is watered down to a point where it’s pure liquid. Waste of my money

Used to come here often for lunch when I worked in the area… I’m not sure if it was their preparation for a bunch of drunken taste buds at the 2am rush or what this time. Stopped by to grab food on my break from an overnight shift and had one of the saltiest carne asade burritos ever… Serving size was nice, but be prepared to want some liquids with that if you order in the early AM.

This place for me is a hit or miss. Sometimes the carne asada meat in their burritos come out cold. And other times they are perfectly made. you can’t go wrong with their carne asada(big portion) fries or rolled tacos. they have klondike chaco-tacos! It’s a major plus that this place is open 24hrs and has a drive-thru, also has a small outdoor eating area(can be dirty)

It’s so-so Mexican food. I wouldn’t rave about it to all my friends, but it gets the job done especially at midnight and don’t feel like cooking. Nothing overly amazing, but I haven’t been disappointed.

Hard to find places open 24 hours, so we have ended up here twice. The food is nothing to brag about, both times I only took a few bites before throwing it away. The crowd hanging around is a bit sketchy and asks for money and rides. I don’t think we will be back.

Had the Carne Asada burrito, unfortunately was not impressed. Ample amount of asada, but lacked seasoning, very small amount of guacamole and pico, this left it quite dry and flavorless.

Giant burritos, the salsa is OK. I got two cheese enchiladas, though, and they were full of… shredded cheese. Not melted in the slightest. It was fine, but there’s way better Mexican food to be had.

I usually order a carne asada burrito but decided to try #8 which came with 2 [huge] carne asada tacos, rice, and beans. The tacos were plopped right onto the beans so it was just a mess trying to pick them up. The carne asada was pretty good but the rice and beans were super bland. I’ll probably go back to the burrito next time.

I hate this place… but I can’t stop coming! Seriously. … its a problem. You ever have those nights when you’re still out and about at 3am? Youre hungry, but you dont want Jack in the Box or Carls jr? Well this is the place to be at! Come, lets meet up our homeless clan there. At 2am when all the watering holes close this place becomes a drunk gathering. You can tell it is by just looking at the drive thru… how people managed to scrape up the entire wall and knock over cement posts with there cars? Prob will the help of Jack and Patron. This part of town has a real homeless problem so be careful they tend to hangout here at times. For example today a guy begged me to buy him food.(in case you were wondering, yes I did) Service:… what service? Yeah this place has no such thing as customer service. 1) because they dont do much english and 2) because they are always so busy. The exterior is really old and runned down, I can only imagine how the inside must be. There was one time me and my wife were at the drive thru and we saw a TRANNY come out of the back door and it seemed like he/she was working a deal with a cook! Like what!?! Food:… its mediocre. They actually have a pretty good California burrito and they have pretty good Carne Asada fries. However I wish they would do something about the cheese they use. I dont know if its kraft but that stupid cheese will never melt! How I wish o could have a California Burrito with melted cheese! Or rolled tacos with melted cheese. I hate the taste and texture of cold cheese on a bite of burrito. Their salsa is pretty horrible. Its clumpy, too cold, and has no taste. FOR you people that dont know good salsa from bad salsa, this is not«the best» salsa as I have heard some people say. Prices are ok though. They have no indoor seating. Its just a window, drive thru, and some old tagged up benches. Would I be back? Yeah I dont think there is a week I havent been here. I hate it. #never ever again. Im throwing up my guts right now because of a california burrito i had this morning. I just cant stop.

One of my go to taco stands in SD. Food is very good and it’s consistent in quality and quantity. I never use the drive thru. I like a little face-time with the order taker. Throw them a smile and a tip. Works every time. Never screwed up my order, gave me plenty of salsa and even smiled back. I usually get rolled tacos with no lettuce, just cheese and extra guac. Worth the upgrade price in my book as they really give you more than enough. Carne Asada chips are great as well as the Carne Asada burritos. Neighborhood is fine, don’t be skeered!

I’ve been going here for years, but lately the food has been so disappointing. The Carne Asada fries are great 9⁄10 times but everything else seems to come out cold, with unmelted cheese and coooovered in a pile of lettuce. Go with the fries. I think I’ll have to find a new taco shop for anything else.

Hit and miss, today my bacon burrito had two gigantic pieces of fat in it, so huge there is no way it was done accidentally, I’ve included pictures one bite into that is enough to ruin anyone’s appetite. Also, a real language barrier issue results in many incorrect orders.

While your mileage may vary at this hole in the wall taco shop, I’d consider this a staple on my list of local Mexican food hot-spots. A 24-hr drive-thru makes Alberto’s rank very highly on my convenience list. I usually stop here for breakfast burritos(which I think they do quite well), but I’ve been known to grab California burritos here too :) I won’t deny that the place looks a little sketchy, the menu board is falling apart, and the place doesn’t have a super clean appearance… but I just come here for the food, so who cares.

One of my favorite«Taco Shops» in Escondido. Been going here since I was in middle school. Great place to visit, at any time of day. Most of my visits are for Late Night Drunchies. Burritos, Tacos, Nachos, Fries, Quesadillas, Rolled Tacos and Beverages are all good, in my opinion. Hit or Miss on the Grease levels though. Sometimes you might need to pat down your food but still full of flavor. Make sure you turn in the right driveway, might end up going against the drive thru traffic, in the pizza hut/taco bell parking lot or just probably missing it all together. Be Careful, on the Weekends, a Police Car May not be too far away.

Ok not as good as the Alberto’s in PQ when it was an Alberto’s cause their food has changed as well as their prices but you really can’t go wrong with carne Asada chips gringo style! Their drive thru is fast and window service is so/so but worth a stop.
