Patterson & Stirling was founded in the 1860s as Patterson Metal Works and manufactured galvanized products such as pails and wash tubs. Patterson’s son-​in-​law joined forces around 1900 and started manufacturing decorative metal ceilings, which were found in most center city retail stores. The company then became known as Patterson & Stirling. The business grew to approximately 80 employees, traveling as far as Florida and the East Coast. We manufactured the first coal furnace in the Erie area through a local foundry.

Pros: On time, service and inspection was good
Cons: Issues with appointment the first time and PRICE!
Had a DC90 furnace Combustion Blower go bad (bearing). They had to replace the whole blower unit as it is considered non-​field serviceable. Knew it was expensive going in but was blown away with the repair bill. Wife was home so I didn’t talk to the tech. The unit retails online and other places for about $ 199. They charged us $ 399.70. On top of that $ 110 for labor (here less than an hour, maybe even only 30 minutes) and $ 10.70 for a filter we didn’t ask for. I could see the filter being an added bonus for some, but we have to use ultra fine micro fiber filters due to animals and dust. And the filter looked like it was made in the 70s it was so old. Service was great, everything’s running fine without a problem and he pointed a few things to look out for failing in the future. Unless money’s no object, don’t go with these guys until you get estimates from at least 2 others if you can.
