Seasoned and first time marathoners alike will be able to appreciate this fairly small, yet festive race. The course itself is as flat as a pancake…2 loops of 13.1 miles… and sits on beautiful Presque Isle State Park where you get a rather scenic view of Lake Erie. If you love quiet views and races with very few spectators you will love this gem! Lots of hotels to stay at in the area and a few authentic local restaurants that sit right on the water. They also have a mini health and fitness expo the day before the race where you can shop for running swag and memorabilia. After the race drive a few minutes where you will hit upstate New York and there are a ton of wineries up there! What better way to celebrate 26.2 than with a little vino? Overall I thoroughly enjoyed 26.2 number 7 out of the 11 total that I’ve run. I’d definitely make the trip back up to Pennsylvania for this very intimate race!
