History

Established in 2014.

In 2007, Daniel accepted an invitation by 3^rd degree Black Belt Professor Ademir Oliveira (Team Oliveira/​SAS) to share his knowledge with America BJJ students in New Jersey. As an ambassador for his art, Daniel passionately embraced the opportunity to bring his knowledge to the U.S. and has cultivated a strong student body in south Jersey. After 14 years teaching Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and self-​defense, Daniel had a great opportunity in his life. In February of 2014, Daniel Tavares opened his own academy realizing one of his biggest dreams.

Business Owner

Daniel Tavares was born and raised in Fortaleza, Brazil. His Jiu Jitsu journey began in 1997 at the age of 17. From the moment he entered the tatame, Daniel knew that Brazilian Jiu Jitsu was his passion, and he pursued his art with great intensity, rigorous training and disciplined conditioning. Additionally, he served his community as an instructor for the 5^th Battalion Quarters of the military police in his state of Ceara. As a world class professional athlete with numerous victories in his native Brazil, Daniel was awarded his black belt by Master Francisco Sa (of SAS Team) in 2005. In 2007, Daniel accepted an invitation by Professor Ademir Oliveira (Team Oliveira/​SAS) to share his knowledge with America BJJ students in New Jersey. Daniel passionately embraced the opportunity to bring his knowledge to the U.S. and has cultivated a strong student body in south Jersey. Daniel Tavares is a seasoned competitor in both BJJ and MMA as well as an accomplished official for the IBJJF.
