I was visiting my parents who now live in Englewood for the winter, like a lot of people from the Northeast. We decided to get some Maine lobsters for new years eve, told that buying them the night before and keeping them in a cooler on ice, they would be fine the next day. Skeptical, we triple checked to make sure this was OK and stored them appropriately. The owner was adamant they would be fine when we mentioned we would come back the next day to buy them. I think he just wanted to close the sale right there and then. Three out of the six were dead the next morning.($ 75 for 6 supposed 1.25−1.5p/lb) Costly mistake on our part. I spoke to the owners when we went back to buy some scallops a few days later and she basically put the blame back on us. They told me I should have just cooked the dead ones. I would have expected better customer service. I guess they only care about dollar signs. I wasn’t expecting much but a better attitude. It goes a long way in business. Word of mouth is a powerful thing. Shame.

Although the freshness of the products should be first & foremost noted, the customer service at the Port Charlotte location is dreadful. On Dec 24, I waited in line for over 45 minutes for an order I had placed close to 2 weeks before 12÷24÷15. The disorganization of the 3 people operating Twins on this day showed in the worst way and made a number of customers in line feel like Twins did not wish to have the business from those spending money. I have to agree with the review from Lorene H. that the inconsiderateness of the Twins employees make me believe I will be taking my business to .

If you want the freshest seafood, and most delicious homemade lobster bisque, stop by Twin Lobsters! Their friendly and knowledgable staff makes you feel right at home, and their prices can’t be beat. I’ve enjoyed their lobster, crab, and clams and have yet to be disappointed!

The best fresh fish source I have found for miles around. Plus, his prices don’t bankrupt you!

We must admit we felt a tad skeptical about Maine seafood in southwest Florida. Rest assured this place is absolutely phenomenal!!! The steamers were clean, fresh and tasty. The scallops were plump, sweet, tender and oh so fresh. The star of the meal was the unbelievable GULFSHRIMP! Can’t wait to return and eat everything they offer. Off the charts good.

I’m done with this place. 1. Their prices are silly. $ 1.25 per oyster? I can get excellent ones on the half shell at a good restaurant for that price locally. 2. Too many times I’ve gotten clams and oysters there that had been around a little bit too long. Not necessarily bad, but too dried out the way old oysters get. 3. I recently bought oysters there that had no flavor whatsoever. When I called and complain I was told there was nothing wrong with their oysters and that perhaps I didn’t know anything about oysters. They told me they were sorry for the problem and hung up. I was being very courteous and friendly and approaching the situation in a more than reasonable manner. I recommend trying Peace River Seafood Market, Lotta Lobster in So. Sarasota, Island Court Seafood on Beach Road for great fresh local shrimp at a good price or just go get fresh oysters on the half shell and fish at Myakka Oyster House for the same price prepared and served. This place has become too comfortable with themselves.

Twin is a great source of fresh New England fish and shellfish. Everything is imported daily from Maine so you are paying a small premium. But it is well worth it. I’ve had their steamers, their mahoganies, salmon, cod and chowder and everything is fresh and delicious. The help is friendly and knowledgeable and the service is usually quick. It’s right off the main drag with a big sign and some fishing humor right out front. You will not be disappointed.

Great selection and reasonably priced. Bought two containers of shucked middle necks to make chowder, one pound of clams, and two pounds of little necks for 30 bucks! Bringing a little taste of home to Florida has never been so sweet!

This is where the parental unit frequents for shrimp. You can get shrimp that have been pre-cleaned, or not, or save a couple bucks by grabbing frozen shrimp. They also have live lobster and lots of other fishey-crustaceanly-goodness. Definitely worth a stop.

Picked up some shrimp here last visit. 8 to a pound. Bigger than some lobster tails. Fresh and good. Only open limited days. Call ahead to be sure!
