Traemand Installation Services

Let me first clarify that Traemand is a nationwide company which subcontracts to local contractors throughout the U.S. for IKEA kitchen installation. It is i that context that I give Traemand and one of its partners, ZeeDee Touch, a five-​star rating. Why five stars? Frankly when I bought my kitchen cabinets from IKEA I expected IKEA’s performance to be spotless and the recommended contract to be less than stellar and the exact opposite happened. First the flexibility of the Traemand/​Zee Dee Touch when, unbeknownst to us, IKEA had postponed kitchen cabinets delivery by a week, making installation obviously impossible. Despite their already booked schedule, Traemand/​Zee Dee Touch was able to shift jobs and workers to accommodate the situation without much change in the final deadline. Second, the professionalism, courtesy and efficiency of the staff, as well as the team spirit and the respect between staff. Third, the great advice we got during the planning and measurement appointment with Milos; it saved us a lot of potential mistakes (why people do not take advantage of this Ikea service is beyond me). Fourth, the seamless relationship with the GC, because Zee Dee Touch was also the GC. And, and finally, my kitchen will look great… the final touches will be put in today. To make a long story short, I’d hire Traemand again, but not sure I would purchase my kitchen cabinets from IKEA again (there were other IKEA screwups which I did not mention in this review).

I am 100% satisfied with my kitchen installation provided by Traemand. They showed up on time the day installation started. Their lead explained everything and went over the pre-​start checklist. They worked quickly, and cleaned as they went, making sure all the boxes and sawdust were removed each night before they left. The crew was bilingual and worked fast. One of the cabinets I purchased was the incorrect size so Traemand came to my house, picked up the cabinet and exchanged it for the correct size. Every time I have emailed the company I have heard back within 24 hours but typically within 1 – 4 hours. I even joked with the Director of Planning that she seems to be there and responsive 24 hours a day. The price I paid for my cabinet installation was set by IKEA but the extras like painting, electrical, and my backsplash were not. I was very impressed with the price I paid. I would use Traemand for any kitchen installations I have going forward.

I recently purchased kitchen cabinets and countertops from IKEA, and the store associates let me know about Traemand’s install services. Despite the poor reviews, I had intended to at least get a quote from them. I knew they worked with local people and I figured they deserved the benefit of the doubt seeing as no poor reviews were from my state.
A few days after my purchase I got a general welcome email from Traemand letting me know someone would be contacting me by a certain date with a quote. No one reached out by that date so I called to check in on it. I was told that my rep was no longer an employee so there was a slight delay and I should be hearing from them soon. After pressing they gave me a number for my new rep. After a week I called again and the operator seemed super confused about what had happened, took my name and said she’d make sure my rep would call. Two days later I did finally get a call from a totally different rep telling me they were starting on my plans and confirming I still needed them. Everyone I spoke with was nice, but after more than a week the process seemed contrived and very unorganized.
tl;dr: If I hadn’t called three times I’m fairly certain I would have never been contacted.

My cabinet parts are all over my living room awaiting installation. I have called Taemand repeatedly and emailed them trying to schedule an install date. I got an email response saying «we don’t do the installation, but I’ve tried to contact the contractor». Nothing since then.
It’s now been 10 days without talking to anyone on the phone and no date scheduled. I’ve sent 3 more emails asking to give me the contractors info and I’ll call myself. Nothing. Not a call. Not a response email. Calls to the company go to voicemail and are not retuned.
Their planning service was great and said they could do a lot of custom work to make this crazy angle in my house work out. I’m beginning to very strongly doubt that will happen, assuming I ever get an installation.
IKEA really needs to review this service partner and go with a reliable company. I’ve ordered all my cabinets and pieces based an the ability of the installer to customize as they promised. It’s too late to go with a new design.
As long as this is IKEA’s partner, I would advise not using their install services. In fact, after this experience, I doubt I’ll trust IKEA for anything. Avoid them at ALL cost.

Traemand Installation Services; Northern NJ
Ikea Kitchen, too many parts and time consuming for the average. Traemand soften my idea of designing the kitchen. I ordered the parts from Ikea & delivered within 10 days. Set my appointment and here is my review. Installation cost is not a few dollars but a happy ending.
Best Carpenters of NJ came in as a group. The first day is preparing the cabinets for next day installation. The prefabrication happens on site. It was scheduled as a two day job that extended into 5 days. I’m not counting that as a negative because what’s on paper does not always translate the same when you see it. Things had to balance out better so trips back to Ikea for parts. Also trips to Ikea because of wrong parts delivered as well! Traemand guys do this this every day and are able to spot issues and correct on the go. English communication could be an issue but always one on the team is fluent speaking. My preference would be to have the same team stay together and complete the job. Day to day I’m not the only job that they are on but they leave instructions for the next crew.
The guys are excellent carpenters and installers and the customer service is very caring.

Another Happy Michigan reviewer — if you are in lower Michigan ask for Al from Holland to do your installation! We too had our Ikea kitchen installed by Al and crew, who drove two hours to our job from Holland, MI. Could not have been more professional and meticulous. Al is very highly skilled and has great attention to detail, and really went the extra mile for us by suggesting changes and at times correcting the plan of the designer to give us a very custom look to our IKEA kitchen. I agree with the other reviewers that the experience would only be as good as the installers, and I would wholeheartedly recommend Al and team for your kitchen or any home improvement project in a heartbeat!

After weeks of trying to get in contact with anyone at this company. I am now calling ikea for a different installer. Is business that God you can blow off customers. Wow I just do not know how to feel a large well know company Ikea fully partnered with this company makes me rethink my recent purchase. Based on this i can not recommend this company to anyone who wants results.

We recently had IKEA kitchen cabinets installed by Traemand and we could not be more pleased with the process and final result. The process from beginning to end was professional, accurate and extremely professional! The young woman who assisted us in designing the kitchen was knowledgeable and beyond helpful. Our confidence in her can be rated at the highest level. Scheduling the installation was easy and so flexible — we had to make an adjustment in the installation timing and it was simple. The day of installation arrived and the two men who performed the task were right on time, organized, neat and extremely accurate. They completed the job ahead of schedule. I will use Traemand again in a heart beat. My husband and I have built 3 homes and we’ve done one other remodel. I can say with confidence this is the best experience we have ever had!

Can I join the club of the people who are dissatisfied with (Ikea) and Traemand?
Robin. I hope you can reply to this post or call me– you are the only one that up to today I have some trust (please don’t disappoint me). It is impossible for anyone to answer the calls at Traemand (I must be on the black list). I will be short and to the point:
–1. Paid $ 50 box for the kitchen measurement. Dawn came over and had the wrong measures input in the tool
2– Paid $ 199– Jenny was great so far. but then I realized she forgot to add a couple of items on the shopping list. So, the same day of the installation I had to rush to pick them up.
3– Call Ken, the Installer and told him about the missing pieces. I get a phone call from Ronda C telling me that they did not do my kitchen planning and therefore she was going to cancel the contract. The day before they suppose to do the installation! and I have 74 IKEA pieces on my living room… She called back once she realized her mistake and did not even apologize.
4– Ken, the installer, was very nice and polite– It took him 2 days instead of 1 day as they told me and the second day supposed to be at my condo at ⁸⁄₃₀ and he came almost at 10.
He did not installed the microwave, service which I paid for $ 99. He said his manager Rhonda told him to leave it as is.
5– This is where I am now! Waiting for Robin/​Jazmine to call me back and give me a day where they can send an installer to finish the job I have paid for! So far. I have not even received a «I am sorry for the inconvenience».
I had 2 independent contractors come over to get an estimate to install the microwave and they refused to do the job because of the way it was left and the liability…
Robin– You have been very responsive and nice over the phone and I know you are trying to fix the multiple issues I had and I appreciate your help… but it is just taking too long.
I sent email to Rhonda asking her to send me the warranty papers… no answer from her! I have a voicemail saved from her that is not very professional either.
I could have paid half of what I paid Traemand… but I did not want to take the risk of having issues and went with Traemand… I whished I have read all the bad reviews before making my decision to go with Traemand.

If I could give zero stars I would! I utilized IKEA’s services to help me renovate my very small condo kitchen in San Diego, thinking it was a simple job of updating cabinets, fixtures, etc, but it turned out to be a nightmare. First, the woman who came out to help us plan the kitchen did not communicate all our options for cabinet sizes so we found out that the cabinets we signed off on were actually too small for the space AFTER they were delivered and assembled. Also they did not put in all the pieces in our order so we had to go to IKEA on the day of installation to get the missing pieces! They are NOT diligent in their work.
Second, when contractors of Traemand (yes, they subcontract the jobs out) came to do the demolition and installation, they did not give us an invoice for their services and made up a number at the end of the job. On top of that, they caused damage to our kitchen and hard wood floors (holes, scrapes, etc) as well as dented our refrigerator! They even damaged the perfectly new cabinet doors with dents and holes while installing them and tried to cover them up with cement.
They did a lousy job, were completely unprofessional and it was a very painful process to renovate a very small kitchen.

Traemand Denver did the measure and install on my 82 year old mother’s kitchen through Ikea, with Ikea cabinets and countertops. As many other folks mentioned, they mis-​measured the kitchen, completely forgot one cabinet, so put up a shorter cabinet that was supposed to go in the bathroom instead… making wasted space between cabinets that they just covered up with a panel. And of course we’re short one cabinet in the bathroom! The stove is not set correctly so when you wipe it all the crumbs go through a crack into the drawer below, and they didn’t cut the countertops so they diagonally seamed together at a corner… they just put one one way and one the other way, and they don’t line up. I could go on and on… but you get the picture :(

I paid $ 250 for a plan, or so I thought. When I got my plan, the measurer/​designer had put the front door in the wrong place. If the front door was moved to where it actually is supposed to be, the refrigerator doors would bang in to it. When I expressed concern, the company said they would come out and «basically redo my appointment.» When the new measurer came, he was combative and arrogant. I had to ask him to leave. I still do not have a usable plan but did pay the $ 250. Since, then all they have done is argue with me via email. I just wanted a kitchen plan.

Super Long Michigan Based Review: I’ve read through a lot of the reviews, only after my kitchen was just installed. We had a really good experience and I was curious to read about other people’s experiences and also check out the Unilocal photos. I’m sad to see that so many people had bad experiences. Before I get into more detail about the process I should say that your experience is not necessarily controlled by IKEA or Traemand but by the installers and people you work with and Traemand does have a responsibility to ensure service and quality is consistent across states and locations. With that, we were very lucky to have had such a good experience from start to finish.
First, we scheduled the measure and design appointment with IKEA in Canton. They were very clear with us about the process and the relationship with Traemand. Scott came out to our home, on time. Our power was out and he was so patient and worked in the natural light in the kitchen without a complaint. The design was done quickly, efficiently and just what we wanted. You should also know we were in the middle of major construction, half walls… Weird floors… Old cabinets… Just a mess.
To be brief about this part… After, the design and specs go into an online system that Traemand manages and you can access via your own personal account. You would take specs /​parts list to ikea (or IKEA can pull it up by your name — the systems are linked) and order the kitchen. Traemand and someone contacts you to coordinate, answer questions. We worked with Lawrence to coordinate everything and let me tell you… He is the most patient person. We delayed our install at least 10 times and he was so easy to work with during all of that.
So finally to are ready to have our kitchen installed. The installer, Al, contacted my husband and scheduled arrival. They were staying in a hotel close to our house due to their long drive. They arrived on time and as scheduled. The install only took 3 days instead of 4… Everything was fantastic.
Now, specifically about the installation. As other people mentioned the installation is sub-​contracted out to a local group. And the quality of your install has to do with who you get. We ended up with Al and couldn’t have been happier. Al’s eye for detail and his attention to quality was absolutely fantastic. I drove to IKEA on day 2 and picked up more trim and side boards and they seriously made our kitchen look custom with just a few extra parts (hey probably should have been ordered from the beginning but you can’t plan for everything). Since we are in the middle of renovating an older home we have some leveling issues… The amount of care and time they spent leveling alone was such a blessing because the whole thing could have turned out so bad. It’s hard to explain now awesome they were and I wish I knew all their names to give them credit but if you are in Michigan, ask your coordinator for Al out of Holland, MI for your install. You will not be disappointed.
Overall my whole experience, from start to end was so fantastic. I’ve gone to our home (which is still not done) almost everyday to just sit in the kitchen. A few friends and some of our contractors saw the kitchen and thought it was beautiful and custom. The counters are being installed in a few days so I’ll upload a picture of the finished project but I’ve uploaded pics that we have from throughout. We love it!
I would just suggest that you talk to the installers before they arrive, ask them questions, ask for references if you don’t feel comfortable. During the install, be involved… If something doesn’t look right, looks broken, spaces, weird… Ask questions.
As a side note, we ordered cabinets and cabinet lighting from IKEA. The rest of the kitchen… Appliances, counters, tiles… All from other places. The floors aren’t replaced yet and we have some drywall work being done still so be forgiving to my pictures.

I had an appointment for Monday at 9 am. I took off work to have my kitchen measured for Ikea cabinets. No one showed up. I was told Aliyah G. was off work and would call me later. This started my Horrible customer service experience w/​Traemand. It got way worse.
Update: I started calling to ask where my person was at 9:38 am. I got the typical run around. Aliyah was off work and would «reach out» to me later that day. I was also told that I would have to go INTO IKEA to reschedule. For their mistake, I would have to drive to the hell that is IKEA and waste my day for their mistake. I kept asking for a manager and got no one to solve my problem. They said they could not reschedule me, that Ikea had to do it. I said NO, Make an Exception. Aliyah finally called me after I called Traemand 4 – 6 times and talked with various people and got nowhere on rescheduling.
Aliyah finally called me at about 11:30 am. I was unable to leave voice mail messages for her b/​c her box was full. She told me my appointment was missed because it was the computer’s fault. (Not my problem) and that «someone» would call me. I said NO. I want a person’s name and phone number and a time set. She gave me the name of M. and M. did come to the house after 2 – 3 emails back and forth. I like M very much.
The only reason I am updating this, is b/​c their Marketing Manager (JW) finally had the backbone to call me today to ask if I would revise my opinion. I was flabbergasted that this company, when NOT ONE PERSON COULD CALL ME YESTERDAY, is suddenly calling me b/​c I Unilocaled a negative review.
Be warned: Traemand is the only vendor who sends out contractors for Ikea in the whole USA. Ikea will not let you know who your specific designer is. You have no way to contact them other than calling Traemand in Colorado.

I was working on a project where Robert, Soul and Irving were the installation crew and they worked very hard to make the existing conditions work. There were issues with a pony wall being plumb and straight and they went above and beyond to fix what someone else had done incorrectly. A custom feature we had was that the oven the was an unusual size but they customized the cabinetry to work. There were some issues here and there as with any construction project but they took care of everything in a very professional manner. They even gave the homeowner a hand when she realized her roof was leaking. They are an asset to the company for sure.

Yesterday, the team of Robert, Soul, and Irving installed my new kitchen cabinets. Their
work was outstanding. Also, they were concerned that I am happy with my new kitchen.
I feel very fortunate that it was their team who came. I can highly recommend them to
my own family, friends, and to anybody.
Ditto to J.R. Garcia who I called Wednesday and had the installation scheduled the
following day. He was highly efficient and patient in explaining all that I inquired for.
They are great ambassadors and asset to Traemand !

We had a terrible experience working with this company for our new kitchen. They outsourced the project to some unknown sub-​contractor who then sub-​contracted it out to someone else. they did a poor job with the installation, charged us for things they didn’t perform and then told us we were not a priority to fix when we asked them to come back. It’s not worth the money you save, go with a real company and stay away from these guys. Our CS rep Shane, the designer Myra and contractor James were awful and just not good at their jobs.

Terrible experience by the South Florida Traemand installation team. Repeated visits to complete the IKEA kitchen installation, which initially started OK. They completely dropped the ball when they were supposed to come for a final visit to finish installation of lights and ceiling closure. A single person showed up to install lights — and not even all of them, claiming that the undercabinet covers and ceiling closure would be done two days later. A day later, the administrative assistant for the South Florida office emailed — conveniently after their 10am — 3pm phone office hours, to inform that nobody would show up the following day. We are moving in at the end of the week, to an unfinished kitchen. They couldn’t give any worries to customer impression, and are willing to turn someone off to the point that I write a 1-​star review. They didn’t even offer a finite alternative date, nothing — barely capable to communicate properly — their administrative assistant recently changed, and she’s certainly not at a level of the former one. Buyer beware, I would consider another installation team if I had to do it all over again.

The following is my response to the customer satisfaction survey that I submitted almost 2 weeks ago. have yet to hear back from any one from Traemand of Kitchen Republic, the installation company who is under contract to perform installations in the New York, Long Island area.
QUESTION: Traemand was organized and professional.
Only the installers and the office person were organized and professional. The owner of the installation company (Gregory) and his design employee (Kamil) was not and they should not be recommended for future design and installation services.
QUESTION: It was easy to do business with Traemand.
It was painful.
QUESTION: I could reach the people at Traemand when I needed to.
Countless calls and messages were made to the owner (Gregory) of Kitchen Republic with not one call back or any follow up as a courtesy.
QUESTION: The employees and subcontractors of Traemand were professional and courteous.
Only the installers (Manny & Serge) and the office person (Dominique) were professional and courteous.
QUESTION: I am satisfied with the workmanship of my cabinet installation.
I am not entirely satisfied because the original design and plan had to be altered and modified due to many errors performed by Kitchen Republic’s designer Kamil.
QUESTION: I am likely to recommend Traemand to a friend.
I may recommend Traemand to a friend, but not Kitchen Republic. Buyer Beware!!!
QUESTION: In what area (s) do you think Traemand fell short of your expectations if at all?
The installation company (Kitchen Republic) had many errors in the overall design (by Kamil) of the kitchen that they were also hired to install. Many items, such as side panels, under cabinet molding, and hardware were not included in the planned design. Other items did not arrive based on the material list, which also has many errors. The corner base cabinet with the carousel was installed as per the incorrect design and it would not open all the way because of the range. The range had to be shifted over 3 inches to the right resulting in the originally designed and purchase 15 inch base and wall cabinets having to be returned to IKEA for 12 inch cabinets. The incorrect design and missing items resulted in an additional $ 500 purchase from IKEA.
QUESTION: In what area (s) were you most satisfied with your experience with Traemand and why?
The only satisfaction that I have is that I do not have to deal with Kitchen Republic ever again. But I will say that the 2 installers, Manny and Serge made every attempt to work with me and the faulty design. What was supposed to be a 2 day install took 4 days spread over 2 weeks. Countless calls and messages were made to the owner (Gregory) of Kitchen Republic with not one call back or any follow up as a courtesy. The only person who was reachable was Dominique who was very courteous and professional and tried the best she could to help. Gregory should be aware that although he lacks in professionalism, courtesy, and choosing talented people to perform design work, at least he has 2 patient and dedicated installers (Manny & Serge) and a very nice and understanding office person (Dominique)

Very painful experience and the good news is that I do not have to deal with the installation and design company (Kitchen Republic) ever again. I did not get what I paid for and it even cost more money, time, and inconvenience for a faulty design. What is Traemand going to do to make this up to me and to prevent this type of treatment from one of it’s subcontractors (Kitchen Republic) from happening to the next customer? I should be refunded the $ 250 design fee.

If I could give zero stars, I would. I paid the $ 199 fee to Tempe, AZ IKEA to schedule Traemand to measure and plan for my new kitchen. I have no complaint with the communication and timeliness of the planner. He arrived on time and was very pleasant. Completed my measuring and planning in a little over an hour. I had plans and an installation quote in hand within 24 hours. I asked him to make a few alterations, which he gladly did and sent my final plans back to me for review in a timely manner. So far so good, right? Well… no.
After doing research on Traemand’s services on various websites, including the BBB I decided to go with another contractor because I wasn’t very happy with reviews and complains re: Traemand, their contract I wasn’t comfortable with and the nickel and dime approach to their «services» offered. At that point, all was well. I lined up another contractor for my kitchen.
That was almost two months ago. I am now IN THE MIDDLE of my kitchen installation and now have to pay my contractor $ 400 extra to modify two cabinets because my kitchen was measured incorrectly. How could the measurements be wrong, you might ask? Well, they didn’t account for the granite countertop that one of my cabinets sits on and now it’s too tall to fit under my ceiling. Second, they didn’t take into account the tile under my refrigerator and now the cabinet over my refrigerator is too tall and my fridge won’t fit! When the measurement happened, I had both existing tile and countertops so HOW this was not taken into account is beyond me.
At this point I have spoken with Traemand but I’m very disappointed not only in their «resolution» but with the entire conversation that transpired. It was ridiculous at best. He wouldn’t let me speak and continued to overtalk me as I was explaining my issues. I continued to speak until he finally became quiet and let me talk. On to his response. He shared that if I would have used Traemand to install my kitchen this would be a non-​issue and they would have resolved it at the time of installation. That things come up in a kitchen install that can’t be avoided. I concede that yes, things do come up, but my point is that I am not contractually or in any other way bound to use the ONE contractor IKEA sends to measure as my installation provider and if they cannot manage to measure it correctly in the first place, my clear reluctance to choose them to install my kitchen. And if I DID retain their installation services, they would simply cover up this mistake at installation? I’m appalled.
He shared that the plans they provided to me are «an artistic representation of the kitchen» and are not to be considered plans. I didn’t know kitchen plans were now considered art? My counter to that (if he is correct, but he’s not) is if they are only an «artistic representation» why do they also include measurements of my kitchen and the cabinets that will be installed? And if that statement is true (ha), then I cannot supply these same plans to another contractor and must use Traemand’s services? Again, appalling. I’m gobsmacked that this is the explanation I received.
He also tried to make this my mistake at one point pointing out that the cabinet on the countertop had a soffit above it which is why it wasn’t fitting. Um, no. That cabinet has NO soffit and is a straight floor to counter and counter to ceiling measurement. Even if it DID have a soffit, that SHOULD HAVE BEEN included in the measurements. None of this is my fault. Own up to your mistake.
I’m extremely disappointed not only in their failure to measure my kitchen correctly but that the reasons provided to me are complete garbage. He did offer to refund the Kitchen Planning fee of $ 199 and claimed that was the best he could do. I told him if that was all he could offer me and do no more then I suppose that’s what I have to settle for. This conversation just happened on Monday so I can’t speak to if they will actually give me back my money. They claim this is «the best they can do». Really? I’m out of pocket $ 400 extra to fix their mistake and that’s the best they can do?
I have already contacted my local IKEA and spoken with their management as well as contacted IKEA Corporate HQ to explain my situation. I don’t believe I have to settle for paying more for someone else’s mistake. I have at this point spend thousands of dollars at IKEA. Paying even more is ridiculous when it could have been completely avoided.
I am very happy with IKEA products and customer service. I have never had a poor experience in their store, even when it came to ordering my kitchen which others told me could take hours. I was finished in under an hour and on my way home with my delivery happening the very next day. I certainly hope my review will alleviate a true headache and hassle for other loyal IKEA customers. Stick with a reputable contractor. I don’t believe Traemand can be counted in that category.

While IKEA presents it’s kitchen design and install services as straightforward, time-​saving and easy they’re pretty much anything but. That’s mostly because they only work with Traemand and in our experience they’re pretty much terrible at most stages of the process.
The design consultant they sent to our 2 projects spent a lot of time sighing and eye-​rolling when I asked him questions about the particulars of our projects. As pretty much everyone knows, the IKEA product catalog is immense and confusing — we’re about to spend a bunch of money on this stuff — you’d think he’d understand why I was asking questions. He only responded with annoyance bordering on disdain throughout the entire 3 hours he was here.
Then, it turns out that Traemand doesn’t handle countertop installations other than butcher block (pretty key part of a kitchen install, in my opinion). Weird, but fine — but don’t you think they’d tell you that when they’re «designing» your kitchen? Some of their designers might, ours didn’t. And we didn’t find out until the project was supposed to be finished and we were ready to rent our units — finding and installing new countertops at the last minute wasn’t just frustrating and inconvenient, it cost us a lot of money. When we called Traemand for some guidance, they put us back in touch with our original designer who made it clear that he was again annoyed to be dealing with an issue. Cleary, customer service is not a priority for this company.
Lots of frustrations along the way. And in the end, their lack of attention to detail and horrible customer service ended up costing us time and thousands of extra dollars on what was already an expensive couple of projects. Amazing that IKEA only works with one vendor. Even worse that that one vendor knows they have you in a tough position and they’re happy to take advantage.

We had a very good experience using their kitchen designer Ellis and cabinet installer Jason.
Ellis worked in extra cabinet space for us, which was much appreciated, although I do wish he would have been able to make the cabinets more short person friendly. He also forgot to add one cabinet door which led to a delay in the finished installation. However, the design is fairly balanced and works for us well for the most part.
Jason installed everything perfectly level and did a great job on details. He did the job quickly and relatively cleanly. He worked hard to come back soon to put on extra cabinet doors. We are grateful for his skilled installation and turnaround time.

I used Traemand 3 years ago to install my Ikea cabinets and they did a good job, though my contractor had to finish a few things not done.
Doing an additional remodel now, I tried to contact them and the process is incredibly arduous. I first called them and was told to call Ikea. Ikea however, doesn’t take appointments over the phone (I found out after 48 minutes on hold). We finally had to go into the store (which is difficult when you’re doing a remodel not near you) to schedule to have Traemand even contact us and got a preliminary date that was three weeks out for an estimate (though we asked for soonest availability.
Because the cabinet install would hold up everything and leave us homeless for weeks, I called them again and asked if there was any way to schedule the installation as soon as possible, without an estimate. I left two messages and played a bit of phone tag with Graham at Treamand, who was fairly responsive. He copied another woman on the email to be assigned to our file.
I responded to the email again establishing the urgency and asking for a call to schedule. I heard nothing for 5 days, then we called again. One week later, we finally got a call to confirm our initial estimate made in the store. By this time, desperation had forced us to look elsewhere and we had just booked someone else.
Really unfortunate experience that could easily be made better by faster communication and correct expectation setting.

Think twice before purchasing an IKEA kitchen.
I had the same awful experience that Jonathan T. notes in his review. The installation was a horrible experience from the very start.
The person they sent to measure (Kelley B.) measure incorrectly, which led to a series of fails on their part. I have a galley kitchen, so there are only two walls to measure. The first wall measurement was incorrect leading to the cabinets not fitting as purchased. The second wall did not align the dishwasher/​sink with the plumbing, which also led to a cascade of issues. The «fix» created delays and required the purchase of additional cabinets. They do not want to provide compensation for the problems, or the series of scratches to our brand new marble table.
I cannot understand how IKEA only has one vendor that they work with or why they do not want to enforce quality standards. I will be reporting their services to the Better Business Bureau.

My family absolutely cannot say anything negative about our experience with Traemand. Peter Lemos was our kitchen designer and he was a very personable and enjoyable to work with. He responded very quickly to our emails. I feel like we really lucked out when it came each person we got to work with throughout the entire planning and installation of our kitchen. Even when Ikea messed up our delivery date, Traemand did everything possible to get our schedule date (that got pushed back by the screw up) moved up as close as possible. Graham Mueller in the office was always very responsive and a pleasure to talk to on the phone. Our installer Mattias was AWESOME. He worked very fast and made the installation process look easy (which it likely isn’t, considering all those little bits and parts that have to be assembled by hand). I was expecting a crew that would half-​hartedly put stuff together, instead we got Mattias, a very skilled carpenter, who meticulously put our kitchen together until it was perfect. We are so grateful and I’d recommend Traemand in a heartbeat.

Buyer Beware!
This company is totally inefficient, rude and has no idea of the concept of customer service, not even the Management had a clue. I would NEVER recommend them. My experience with them was lengthy, frustrating, time consuming and I ultimately ended up cancelling the order and losing my design deposit as it became clear very early on that I was not going to get the level of service I expect from an established brand like IKEA. They need to find another installation partner. The design was extremely unattractive, they basically left everything in the place it was originally, cabinets didn’t fit the design, wrong sizes were left in the rendering, a wine fridge in the wrong place, wall oven the wrong size, island in the wrong place and when I went to Management to try to fix the issues, he was rude and unhelpful. I cancelled the project.

Worst company ever! Came out per IKEAs recommendation to measure and design my kitchen and screwed it up every step of the way. Then I come to find out they aren’t even licensed and bonded in Washington State!!!

Too often, customers send complaints, but not positive feedback. I would like to take this time to give some positive feedback regarding my Ikea Kitchen model experience.
I started my remodel journey back in September with Ikea. I am proud to say that my Ikea kitchen remodel has been completed (minus the on-​going issues I am having with my counters from Stones, Etc.).
I wanted to take this time to express my admiration and gratitude to Planet Construction (referred by Ikea/​Traemand) and it’s employees who worked on my kitchen. I would also like to say how impressed I am with my Kitchen Designer, Gabriella Cannon from Traemand and Ikea employees, Gaby and Blanca. Lisa at Traemand was so helpful and informative as.
I am so pleased with the value and quality of my Ikea kitchen. Gabriella from Traemand was so nice and pleasant to work with during the design process. She truly knows the products and has the know-​how to skillfully and beautifully design.
Traemand was very easy to work with and everyone was professional and friendly.
I have read some of the negative reviews and in all honesty, if you are not prepared and you have not taken the time to properly prepare for your kitchen remodel, you will have problems. Remodeling is a tedious affair. There are many things that have to be taken into consideration and even the most prepared client with have some small glitches along the way– that is what happens with remodels. There are always modifications and tweaks that are required in construction work.
If you want your remodel to go smoothly consider the following:
— Have all appliances ordered and delivered onsite before anything starts.
— Make sure you have triple-​checked all measurements on appliances and remodel
— check all of your boxes when they are delivered so you can return damaged items
— keep all receipts and make copies
— Have patience

Terrible, nonexistent customer service. The installation job was the most challenging part of our entire remodel, which is saying a lot when you are renovating an entire house. Some lowlights:
— Planner forgot there was a dishwasher. Caused a redesign of the kitchen and a job delay. Still not happy with the final configuration of the kitchen, but it’s what I have.
— Our 3 day install turned into a 4 week job. I was told there were missing parts twice, when there were not. I was told I had to go to Ikea to get new parts, and then had to wait for 3 weeks for a crew to become available to come back and finish the job.
— This delayed countless other things in the house — finishing the floors, installing the countertops, painting — all delayed due to errors, and all at a steep cost to me.
— I was left managing their subcontractors as if I was the GC, when that is their job. They were completely uninvolved after the scheduling process. I never heard from them again, despite numerous calls and emails to the team at Traemand to get their help, even leaving messages with their answering service and their general number in Colorado. Not a single person got back to me. Not once.
— I finally followed up with their COO after the job was finished to give him feedback about my poor experience, and didn’t hear back from him either.
The company seems to be interested in little else other than collecting your money on a predetermined schedule and then leaving you to figure it out yourself. I’d love to send them a change order for my time I spent doing their job. Alas, that’s not how it works.
On the plus side, their subcontractor (Planet Construction) was responsive, polite, and did a quality job and my cabinets look great, but this isn’t a review for them.
I would not use them again for any job.

I had just had the absolute best kitchen install ever. I read all the reviews and was a little concerned that I had not made the right decision to use them. But Savatore, Eric and Emanuel were the most, professional, thorough, conscientious carpenters I have ever worked with. Salvatore had many ideas that served to enhance my design and made the kitchen overall more functional. With 30 years of experience, he knows what works and what doesn’t.
They were a joy to work with and unlike one reviewers experience with a crew that left debris all over the place, these guys took the time to clean up! So if you live in the Bay Area and are considering Traemand, ask for Salvatore’s crew, they are the best.

This was the absolute worst experience I’ve ever had with any company. I highly suggest avoiding these people!

I’ve never been so upset with a company in my life. This is my first negative review, and I hope it persuades someone to avoid this company. Please don’t use these guys, save yourself the trouble and headache.

We have had the same bad experience others have recounted here. Rushed, sloppy job and no one will take responsibility for it. Be aware, as others have complained — they will make a HUGE mess in your driveway or front yard with sawdust and cardboard unless you pay extra for them to remove it. We have pencil marks left on all our drawers from the cabinet pull install. The fronts an backs of the cabinets are splintered from the pulls install. On the job site they talked me out of doing 2 things laid out in the plans which never should have happened. Created a domino effect of problems. But because the installer is a subcontractor to the subcontractor for ikea, you, as the customer, will never get anyone to take responsibility for the overall handling of the job. I’m still waiting for a refund equal to the amount of 6 drawer fronts that are all jacked up.

We finally decided to remodel our kitchen, but didn’t want to break the bank. We decided to go with IKEA cabinets, and after doing some research, decided to use their design and installation company, Traemand.
I’m happy to say that EVERY aspect of the job was conducted and completed professionally. From the nice young lady who helped us lay it out and take measurements, the communication for scheduling, the cabinet delivery, and finally the two gentlemen who actually installed the cabinets. It all went like clockwork, and our kitchen cabinets are solidly and evenly installed, and they look great. The cost for installation was also more than fair.
I was especially impressed with the installer’s communication and the way in which they went about their work. They even measured all of my appliances and made the proper cuts and adjustments to the cabinets so my contractor could just drop them in. They left my home just as clean as they found it, too.
People who reviewed this company and mentioned that they left behind the cardboard and scraps must not realize that when you, the homeowner take on a construction project, it’s your responsibility to dispose of the debris, not the contractor’s. Some contractors do dispose of it, but they aren’t required to.
I would definitely recommend Traemand to anyone looking to install an IKEA kitchen.

Horrible customer service from both the Colorado office her name was Lisa and local mgmt named Mike. IKEA contracts with them and they in turn subcontracts with small time handyman services to do the installation. The handyman assigned to our projection did an ok job but left a mess in our yard. The just dumped the sawdust into our front yard until I caught them then they dumped it straight into my trash can. They did a sloppy clean up and left without telling us, leaving our garage door open.
Traemand’s mgmt. Mike was just as rude. After I complained to IKEA, he came out to my house unannounced and started taking pictures of the mess but did nothing. He then told IKEA rep that I’d have to move the boxes before they would clean the sawdust. Really??? I wasn’t the one who made it in the first place! I told IKEA that was not gonna happen and it’s been two months and no one has gotten back to me, not even IKEA’s kitchen department mgr Saeed.
Will not ever buy any large ticket items from IKEA again.
Beware of IKEA’S subcontracts! !! DO NOT HAVE them do any of the installation!!!
