I LOVE these guys! They are the only mechanic in Denver that I’ll use. They quote me a fair price and always come in lower than the quote. I highly recommend them!

I have no issues with the mechanical services provided. Unfortunately, the customer service provided by Jarrod of The Honest Mechanic was incredibly disrespectful.
My girlfriend and I took a car we were looking to buy to The Honest Mechanic for a used car pre-​purchase inspection. All looked to be in good shape so we bought the car. Three weeks later and now the car is having some major issues. We took the car to a mechanic closer to our house, who suggested we call The Honest Mechanic to see what was checked during the pre-​purchase inspection. My girlfriend (who is African American and has a distinctive African American name) called to speak with Jarrod, who almost immediately demanded that she, «Get to the point.» He continued to cut her off multiple times and became highly irritated and defensive during their conversation. My girlfriend never accused The Honest Mechanic or Jarrod of doing anything wrong or negligent; she just wanted to find out if the current problems with the car were visually inspected before we bought the car. She was hung up on several times while trying to get the information she needed. When I, a white woman, called back to speak with Jarrod, his tone changed IMMEDIATELY. He seemed a bit more patient and calm when speaking with me. That didn’t last long, however, as he became short and defensive with me, as well. The way that we were both spoken to was highly disrespectful and not something that I would expect from a professional business.
(In addition, the customer waiting area was extremely dirty and disgusting. We did not want to sit on the loveseat but didn’t have a choice, as there was nowhere else to sit.)
I will not recommend The Honest Mechanic to anyone I know, and if it were possible to give them ZERO STARS, I would be doing just that.

Came here for an Oil Change and because of the great reviews/​rating on Unilocal.Called in yesterday to schedule to come in today. I also printed out a $ 28 oil change coupon they have on their website.
Came in and 20 min later oil change was done. These guys are friendly and super fast. Will definitely come in again for more oil changes or if we need work done on our vehicle!

Love this place and love these guys! Super friendly and honorable. I was far from home and my car was over heating so I stopped by without an appointment to and they had me out of there in thirty minutes at an honest price. It’s so difficult to find good people let alone honest ones to work on your car. I will never go anywhere else as long as in in denver.

I took a car in for a Pre Purchase Inspection. It was quick, thorough, and they showed me what I needed to see answering all questions and asking if there was anything else I wanted to see. Helped immensely in my decision.

These guys saved me tail, literally, I don’t know what I would have done without their help! My car broke down in Denver last August and they were the Gaurdian Angels of car repair…
I was moving across country for the first time in my life and they made every effort possible to make my nightmare situation as smooth as possible! There is simply no where else you should go, They are hard working, honest and stand up gentlemen!
Not only to me me but I also saw them assist countless others that walked in the door while i patiently awaited my foreign POF car parts.

Simply the best. Brian and Jarrod are very nice people — easy to work with. Brian is a serious mechanic — the only one I let touch my old MoPar muscle cars — shares my passion. I know they are in the best hands.

A business that lives up to their name. I’m happy I found a mechanic I can trust. The work Brian and his team did was fantastic.
The biggest example of how they live up to there name was that I had an issue with a power steering unit and they replaced it under warranty (parts and labor). They could have simply suggested to replace some other parts that would have cost me more out of pocket, but didn’t want me to have to spend money if the part was bad, in which this case it was. My car has been running great ever since the replacement in early 2014. I brought in the car originally in late 2013.

The BEST mechanics in town. Honest, reliable, and overall great guys! Brian and Jared are incredible. I started taking my car there when I moved back from California in 2010 and haven’t looked back since. It is so nice having mechanics who, as their name implies, will actually give it to you straight. They never tell me to fix anything that doesn’t really, really need fixing. This is very refreshing, as being a woman who knows very little about cars, I was used to the opposite. Very skilled and professional.

Seriously a great place to take any vehicle! They have always been honest, courteous and straight forward with every bit of information.
I have a lemon of a Jetta with countless problems and anytime I need the next issue fixed, I have it towed to them. I can call them at anytime, leave them a message (since they are always busy) and they call back with their estimate and detailed explanation before they do any work. They will tell you the honest opinion about what to fix and what can wait.
I recommend Brian, Jared and all the guys at The Honest Mechanic to everyone I know who needs a sincere answer for their car problems.

Very very nice group of guys. I went for an issue I could have fixed all by myself, and they could have just BSd me by saying anything they wanted, it was a teensy issue and took two seconds to adjust. I would give them my own liver if it meant they earned all the business in the world. Great place and I will certainly make them my #1 primary mechanic.

My first experience with the Honest Mechanic was great! I called before bringing my car in, and Jared was very helpful over the phone. He answered my questions and gave me a ballpark price (I didn’t have all the specs to give him for an exact price) for what I was looking to get done. The final price was even lower than the over-​the-​phone «estimate» I was given. They did a great job, and Jared even stayed a little longer after closing to give me time to jump on the train and get there to pick up my car.
I really did get a feel that these guys are HONEST. I had to get my brake rotors replaced; they checked out my brake pads and let me know that these did not have to be changed, that I still had some good use out of them before they needed to be replaced. They could’ve easily told me that they had to replace them, and I would have been none the wiser.
Jared was a very cool and down to earth, while at the same time courteous and professional. I never had the feeling I was being up-​sold or taken advantage of. I will definitely be taking my car to The Honest Mechanic for any and all repairs and maintenance. Also, the location near the Oxford Lightrail station makes it convenient to get to the shop while my car is there.

Can’t say enough good about these guys. I have a 1999 Honda Prelude. The oil light came on yesterday and the engine was clanging, so I had it towed to these guys because of the Unilocal reviews and the fact that they could see me so quickly.
First of all, I was offered a ride to work … something I had been worried about. They were patient and attentive and explained everything to be in layman’s terms. I like to see the work being done, and they let me come and take a peek, kept me updated, and got the work done in a timely manner. They researched and priced future work for me on the spot. They got lunch for everyone at noon and even gave me advice on how to sell my car privately (as I’ve never done this before).
Car work is usually a frustrating and dismaying experience for me, because I understand almost nothing about cars and hate spending money… but this was kind of like hanging out with my friends while they worked on my car. Fair priced, as well.
Too bad my Prelude got bad news and drove her last drive … but at least the experience was a positive one thanks to these guys. :)

EDIT: I decreased my rating from 3 stars to 5 after a recent experience with my new car, an Acura RSX. I took the car in for new motor mounts; after I picked the car up, there was a hard vibration throughout the entire car that even caused the rear view mirror to jump and could be clearly heard when stopped. I called Jared back and brought the car in again. They were unable to find anything wrong with the car, and told me that vibrations after a motor mount replacement were common in this model of car. Dissatisfied with this answer, I took the car to the Courtesy Acura to be seen by Acura specialists; since it is under warranty, this is what I should have done to begin with. They told me that the wrong kind of motor mount had been put on the car and that is why it was vibrating so much. When I called Jared, he hemmed and hawed a little about the issue and was very noncommittal. I told him I would be bringing the car back in to have the correct motor mounts replaced. Once the correct motor mounts were put in, the car ran fine, but I have not brought my car back to the Honest Mechanic and I don’t intend to. Although I do feel their service is great and fair-​priced, and I do feel that they truly ARE honest mechanics, I did not like the fact that Jared seemed reluctant to admit the mistake and remedy it. I began to feel like I was a bother, and that they just wanted to be done with me and my car. I also had to call several times (I was without my car for nearly a week) to get progress reports; there was never any initiative taken to contact me about it. They certainly DID fix their error, of course, and apologized for the inconvenience, but after such a snafu, I’ll stick with Courtesy Acura for future work.

Great Shop. No «up-​sell», no bullshit. Honest, pragmatic mechanics. Approachable even to a novice. Recommended.

I first visited The Honest Mechanic in a last ditch effort to repair a serious oil leaking problem for which I had already put out a considerable amount of money. I dropped it off one Friday morning expecting to be without the truck for several days. I was called a couple of hours later to pick up the truck. They had not only repaired the leak, caused by an inappropriate O-​ring improperly placed in a cooling line. There was no-​charge!
A couple of months later when I needed some serious repairs done they were finished quickly, professionally, and faster than I would have thought possible. I won’t take any vehicle anywhere else ever again.

True to name, these guys know what they’re doing and are upfront about everything. I brought my car in for a last minute oil change and a check engine light on. Not long after I dropped it off, received a call and my car was done and they gave me thorough details of what was going on with the check engine light.
I will definitely be taking my car back to them with any future issues or oil changes as they are quick and efficient. Very happy with my experience with The Honest Mechanic!

I was in need of getting my spark plugs replaced on a f150. I called around and got quotes ranging from $ 500-​$ 1000 for the same service. My year of truck had a bad design of plug which made replacing them a hard task, hence the high price. the problem would occur when pulling out the old plug. They had a tendancy to break if not done correctly or not soaked before. If they were to break it was a timely task to get corrected with an expensive tool needed to accomplish it.
My dad was talking with his co-​workers and found out that there was a shop about 10 minutes away from me where his coworkers brother works. sweet, ill check it out. He gave me a quote for $ 389. He has previous experience on these difficult plugs and has not broken one to date. He also warned me of the problem and recommended having the truck over night to soak them properly so removal would go smooth. Brian, the owner was very nice and accomidated my busy schedule and agreed to work on a Sunday. He got my plugs done and got me on my way in a timely manner. This is a great place and I will be going back to him in the future.

Can’t recommend this shop enough. When my Tahoe and my Subaru needed some serious work this guy came through with flying colors.
Example: My Tahoe has some BIG wheels on it. Anyone who knows what big wheels can do to balance, rotors, alignment, etc. over time knows eventually you’re going to need some work done on those areas of your car. One of my wheels was absolutely LOCKED to the car via one of the connection points that holds the entire wheel assembly on. This shop spent hours slowly working it off so it didn’t destroy the rest of the front steering section. They could’ve just ripped it off and told me it needed a new set of parts but instead they took the time to do it in a way that didn’t end up costing me a ton of $$ to fix the other parts too.
QUALITY WORK HERE. No BS and just the straight facts to get your car repaired.
It’s clear these guys understand happy customers come from honest repairs and nothing more. You will bring your ride back to this shop again and again.
