History

Established in 1987.

I am a 4th. generation florist ~~ Stevens the Florist was started in Plymouth, Mass. by my great grandfather, Charles Stevens. He along with my grandfather Alton and father Dean were all growers. We has 12 greenhouses behind our family home, and also a retail shop downtown. I bought the business (along with my sister Diane and brother in law Greg) in the early 70’s and decided to sell it in 1985. I relocated to sunny Florida and to the most wonderful community of Englewood on the west coast. I built and opened Stevens the Florist South in 1987. We are a very proud business dealing in only the finest quality of product~and because of that we have been voted # 1 every year since 1997.

I am a graduate of Plymouth-Carver Hish School~then continued my education to Butera Art School in Boston, Mass. I did commercial art for several years before buying Stevens the Florist. I did design shows for teleflora in the New England Circut in the 70’s.I decided that I needed more sunshine in my life so I relocated to Englewood, Fl. in the mid 80’s.Its a wonderful, caring little coastal town on the gulf of Mexico. I am a proud member of The Placida Rotary Club, Englewood/Cape Haze Chamber of Commerce, Kid’s Needs, and F.A.M.E.(Friends for the Advancement of Musical Education)
