Road Runner Moving & Storage

I don’t often write reviews of business on Unilocal,but felt compelled to given the other reviews on this business. After hearing that I had hired Road Runner for our move over this last weekend, my girlfriend became concerned due to their ratings on Unilocal.We decided to go through with using them anyway because of their rating on other websites in the Denver area and are very happy we did so.
I could not have been more pleased with the move. Three movers showed up in a huge truck and moved our two apartments into one house under 4 hours, and this was despite the significant amount of snow that fell during our move. The crew was extremely professional and polite which made the move so much easier. They were also very careful to protect our good furniture, making sure to shrink wrap everything.
I think Unilocal can be very useful for a lot of things, but I also think that there is a certain «mob mentality» that can be used to try to dissuade other users based on a very small sample of business.
I would not hesitate to recommend these guys to my friends, or to use again.

Absolutely do not use this company. They are robbers!!! I am missing so many things.

I used them for 2 big moves. I do not recommend that anyone use them for more than 2 or 3 rooms worth of things at a time. Be sure to take a picture of all your items, including small furniture. I am missing valued furniture and a big floor rug. I sense I may be missing a few boxes too as the numbers leaving the houses do not match up with the numbers coming into the houses. They hurry to put items in your new place but not where you indicated so that it takes you awhile to notice anything is missing. Then when you report it to Juan, the dispatcher, he claims that you are lying and will not insure the missing items without receipts. Does he keep receipts of 50 year old furniture or have receipts of treasured items such as a rug or boxes of treasured items? Then he further threatens you to file a police report so that both his crew and the customers can go in for a lie detector test. Furthermore, the guys were very late on the second move. They moved quickly and efficiently once they are there, but you can’t watch what 6 guys are doing at one time. Again, do not use them if you need more than 1 truck and 2 or 3 men. You need to keep an eye on your things.

We have used Road Runner many times, have recommended them to many friends and family, and will continue to use them for any of our moving needs!
They are professional, very friendly and make a stressful moving situation much more enjoyable. Alejandro and Thomas were very helpful, and i found myself smiling and laughing much more than I expected on moving day. They also do an excellent, professional job.

THIS PLACE IS THE WORST. These guys showed up SIX hours late without an apology or an offer of any sort of discount. They also reeked of marijuana when they finally managed to show up. There was no notification of any kind about how late they were going to be, we were forced to call them multiple times to find out their location. Worst service I have ever received. Do not make the same mistake I did, definitely avoid using these movers!!!

These guys are terrific. Professional, courteous, and reasonable rates. I’ve used RRM twice in the past 15mths and I will be sure to use them for future moves.

I was robbed of $ 5000 of personal belongings by the movers who performed my job. The owner of the company has repeatedly insinuated that it is my fault that my belongings were stolen, as well as accused various members of my family and my boyfriend of being the likely culprits of the robbery. Apparently there’s no weight in the fact that one of the movers has a long history of pawn shop usage, as well as was arrested in the days following my move for lying to a pawn broker. According to the company owner, I was still less than smart to have valuable personal belongings anywhere in the realm of where her movers would be working. — Note to self: if the owner of the company implies that I shouldn’t have trusted her employees to not steal my valuables, then this probably is not the most trustworthy or reliable business to deal with.
I was attempting to write a very lengthy review of this company, but it kept being too long for Unilocal.I am so fed up with Road Runner Moving by this point that I refuse to give them any further time or effort. The company jerked me around for months following my move, saying they would pay me $ 500 if I would release their company of all liability. The owner even wrote me a $ 500 check, which she put a stop payment on after I deposited it.
I used Road Runner Moving about 2 years ago and had a wondeful experience with the help of Joe and Carl, movers for the company. I relied on this company to provide reliable, trustworthy movers again, only to have $ 5000 worth of personal belongings stolen (including an Apple laptop, several pieces of jewelry, and a collectible gold coin), and then be blamed repeatedly by the company owner for my losses.
I have filed a complaint with the BBB, as well as disputed my credit card charge for the move, about which I just received a phone call. Apparently now the company owner is rejecting my credit card dispute of payment for the service, since I did not receive the service that was promised or expected. After depositing a check that the owner wrote to me only to have it returned, followed by her rejection of my credit card payment dispute, I have absolutely had enough.
Furniture was damaged during my move, but I was told that it wouldn’t be covered under insurance because it was «cheap wood». $ 5000 worth of belongings were stolen during my move, but the company says that its insurance will not cover it. For a company that is advertised as being «fully licensed and insured», I haven’t seen a bit of insurance coverage offered for all of the headaches and mishaps that have resulted from hiring this company to perform my move.
I have been repeatedly insulted and misled in attempting to resolve these issues with the company. The owner will tell you «we had to subcontract movers out from another company because all of our movers were already on jobs, so that’s why they may not have been trustworthy» — essentially, according to her, it’s not the company’s fault that subcontracted employees didn’t perform a good job. Last I checked, the company is responsible for the service that is provided, PERIOD, regardless of whether the individuals performing the work are actual employees or subcontracted workers. One mover cussed me out throughout the move for not being able to pay him immediately in cash, after I’d been guaranteed that I could pay via credit card when I originally scheduled the move. He eventually left the job because, being a subcontracted worker, he didn’t know if he’d get paid. Throughout my discussions with the company owner following my move, she also mentioned that from now on, she guesses that she should do «very thorough» background checks on all of her employees — apparently that was never standard practice before… feel free to form your own opinion based on that notion.
Do yourself a favor, stay away from this company — save yourself the time, headache, money, and effort involved in trying to do «business» with them.
