More of a question than a review. How is this business open and which one actually exists. There was a sign in South Bound Brook than it disappeared. Somerset and SoHo locations closed. Other reviews say selection is scarce and others say that it doesn’t even open on advertised time. I’m kind of weary of going there and being disappointed no less taking the risk of making an online order after reading reviews from the failed Somerset location no less Tods FB page. Kudos to the Sharks not making a plunge into his business.

Mr Tods pie has re-opened…went on a Saturday morning at 11:30am and basically nothing left, either they opened late or they ran out of everything fast! All that was available were a few mini chocolate pecan and mini coconut If this place wants to stay in business it needs to have full stock!

I paid for an online order and after an entire month went by, I still have not received my pies. This was supposed to be 2-day shipping! When I called no one answers and I can’t even leave a message because the voice mail is full. He also doesn’t respond to emails. Terrible business sense. I think only thing keeping him in business at this point is his TV exposure. If you make an order this is what you should expect: — You will not get your order in 2 days(or ever) but you will still have to pay for 2-day shipping. — No response from your phone calls or emails. — You will have to call your credit card’s claim department and request a «charge back» to get your money back from this guy. Expect a long wait on hold too. I wished I read reviews before putting my trust into Mr. Tod. I wasted a lot of time fixing all these problems he created for me.

I gave Mr. Tod 3 stars, not solely based on taste of his product but Overall. I first came to learn of Mr. Tod’s Pie Factory from a little television show called Shark Tank, which He appeared on. And not just an appearance, was a winner on the show. He managed to scour a deal out of those tight wads who always want All or Most of your business. So when I saw that, and saw that it was one of the few black owned businesses in Bergen County… I knew one day I would have to pay him a visit. But how I came about my first encounter happened on a Wednesday late afternoon and on a freak whim. Nonetheless, the little bakery shop seen on tv was staring right in front of me between a hair salon and business(restaurant) coming soon. Upon entering the shop, I greeted Mr. Tod [whom was working the counter, and with no other employees in site] with a «Hi, I’ve seen you before face… I saw you on Shark Tank.» He was none impressed and gave me a dry hi back. That quickly changed the tone, but I tried to stay upbeat and inquire on his SoHo location, which has since shut down. He asked me what I would like, quickly I told him his famous SWEETPOTATOPIE! He told me they don’t have any :-(His sweet potato pie Was/Is his signature pie and he didn’t have any for me. «How come I ask,» he replied, «I don’t have the equipment»…and would not have it for another month. So because I still wanted to generate some business his way I purchased two pecan baby bite pies(which were incredibly sweet and yummy; your trainer is going to work you hard just to burn off those calories) and a chocolate chip muffin(which has a hard crunchy exterior and soft crumbly interior), 3 tiny desserts cost me a total of $ 9. Kinda pricey. A whole pie is $ 25. I get it, he has to pay that hefty Bergen county commercial rent. Leaving, I thought I’d go back… but upon going back, his sign that says Opens at 7 am does not really open at 7 am, more like 9 or whenever he gets there. Second visit, arrived at 9 am, he wasn’t opened, swung back around at 9:30 am still nobody. Third visit, opened and had a new young kid working the register. So decided to get a few more of the bites and muffin(same consistency as the first experience. Overall, the shop has a nice local coffee shop vibe, pretty clean, but hot… all the ovens were cookin’ pies and there was no A/C. The owner needs to work on his conversation to be long lasting shop owner in the community, build a rapport with your customers, its what will keep them coming back to you instead of finding a new place.

I love everything about this place. The desserts are great and the atmosphere is quaint. This is a place you must visit if you are in the Englewood area.

This place is really a hidden gem in the area. I went with some friends and we decided to order and share one of each of the mini pies to get a feel for the place. Everything was delicious! The hands down best was the chocolate pecan pie! I am still dreaming about it as I type up this review. Everything was fresh and I think it’s very inexpensive for the quality of the food. Mr. Tod himself served us and he was very kind and helpful. I hope to visit Mr. Tod’s again soon!

What a pleasant hidden gem! I had go to the dry cleaners and I stopped by this little bakery close by because my daughter was hungry. So we got a little snack. She got a blueberry muffin and tea while I got Columbian coffee. Tod, the owner of this bakery was there and 2 words: Southern Hospitality! He was so friendly, something a lot of us Jersey/NY folks lack nowadays! Anyway, definitely recommend this charming little bakery :) The pies and pastries looked amazing. Tod was also telling us how he is about to go to a pie competition soon so next time I will definitely be checking out the pies!

We ordered some pies to take to an Easter Sunday dinner w/the family. The sweet potato pies taste like they came right out of my Mom’s oven. The key lime pie is also amazing! On a separate occasion, I had a slice of their pineapple-coconut cake(yes, they make cakes too) & it tasted like cake HEAVEN! Considering that I absolutely hate everything coconut, I was truly impressed. So happy they’re coming to Harlem!

SWEETPOTATOPIE!!! Every time we stop by Mr. Tod’s, that’s the first words out of our mouth — «Is your Sweet Potato Pie in stock?» Because it’s not always in stock. Last time, we waited a month for it to available. The explanation? Mr. Tod’s preferred stock of sweet potatoes were out, so he was waiting for the right shipment to be available before making more. That should tell you something about the quality of this place. We’ve had the pleasure seeing the owner man the store on some occasions and he’s always cheery and polite. If you don’t want to commit to full sized pie, mini-pies are available. YUM!

Apple pie is delicious. They’ve gotten their cooking down pretty well. It’s the business side they need to work on. Why bother ordering a pie ahead of time, being promised the pie at said time, and still not having the pie because it is not ready? Order two days in advance, that way you won’t panic when it’s not ready. Because it won’t be. But, it will be DELICIOUS!

I spoke to Tod on 1÷9÷15 and although my order still hasn’t been processed, it’s clear that Tod and his team are all hands on deck and trying to remedy the problems with the online ordering that they’ve had this year. I appreciated the time he took to explain the problem with the shipping containers and we have a follow up call scheduled for next week. I only wish I lived closer so I could alleviate what is certainly a tough situation for them. Once i receive the product I will update my review.

I LOVE love love pies from Mr Tod’s Pie Factory, and this is coming from a non-pie lover. Pies, despite their status as a dessert, usually do not excite me. They are often overly sweet and dry, making it difficult to chew/swallow. But last Sunday, when my pie loving friend invited me to her BBQ party, I decided to bring an apple pie. I was originally going to order an apple pie at Baumgart’s café in Englewood but they would charge $ 36! I couldn’t justify paying that much money for a pie. So I immediately went on Unilocal search to find any good bakeries in my area and saw this store had awesome reviews. When I visited the store to check out the pies, I was glad to see minis for people who aren’t interested in full sized pies. I obviously picked the mini apple pie but decided to add a coconut mini as well because I go nuts for anything coconut. And the result? I found myself driving back to the pie shop 10 minutes later to order a whole pie because these pies were, no jokes, mind blowing. The fillings inside are not too sweet, mushy nor hard. The pie crusts were soft and flakey but not too dry or messy. I dare say, everything about this pie was baked to a state of perfection, and it eventually changed me into a total pie covert. And it wasn’t just me! Everyone at the BBQ party enjoyed the apple pie, and would ask me where this pie was from. I paid $ 20 for the whole pie, and seeing how my friends love eating it, I don’t regret my purchase at all. Aside all the raves about the pies, Mr. Tod, the owner, is also very friendly, courteous, and prompted in assisting my order. I would highly recommend this pie shop to visit if you’re around the area!

Ordered an apple pie and a blueberry pie on Wed for a Fri July 4th10am pickup. Upon arriving at 10 neither pie was done and told to come back at 1130am. Came back at 1145am to find out the apple was burned and the blueberry pie was just out of the oven. Returned my money for the apple pie and apologized but left we hanging for an apple pie and almost 2 hours late for my July 4th plans. Generally the pies are incredible but with two days notice there is no excuse for not having them ready when promised.

Wow. Let’s just start off with that. Wow. I was looking to pick up some dessert for a dinner I was heading to in demarest, and I did a quick Unilocal search and found this amazing place within seconds. And I am seriously glad I did. To say that the blueberry crumb mini pie I had was good is an insult to great pies and a leg-up to mediocre pie makers who couldn’t hold a candle to what is happening in this sublime bakery. I judge a big portion of a pie’s quality by its crust– bad crust= bad pie. But mr. Tod’s crusts are freshly homemade and are a worthy, buttery intro to the delicious fruit filling inside these amazing treats! The blueberry crumb was not too sweet and just had the perfect flavor combination. I also had the coconut cream pie, and it was amazing. I’ll he heading back here very soon to pick up some pies for friends and family– hopefully, if you’re smart, you will too. Also had some great cookies from here that are actually the product of one of tod’s mentees who has started his own business! They were awesome and obviously support a great, young entrepreneur, so please buy some when you go in.

Mr. Tod is very nice and friendly! On my way to work and decided that I needed a mental stop on the way and his blueberry crumb mini pie and the apple crumb mini pie was very delicious! Although I like mine a little less sweeter but my work friends says it’s good! Mine would be just perfect with a glass of milk! Can’t wait to try the coconut one he had! OH! The place smells amazing! It should be made into an air freshener!

Delicious! Homemade pies that are worth every calorie. They offer mini-pie sizes as well as full size pies. Since this was our first visit here, we opted for the mini-pies and tried the chocolate pecan, pecan and apple pie. Pecan pie is my all-time favorite pie and this did not disappoint. The crust was flaky and flavorful and the filling to pecan ratio was spot-on. The chocolate-pecan pie was good too, but it was just chocolate drizzle on the pecan pie rather than chocolate baked into the filling, which is how I prefer it. Apple pie was great as well. The crust did not hold onto the flakiness as well but each bite was a perfect balance of apple gooeyness and cinnamon. We will definitely be back!
