They have a new address near 100 Morris ave, lower level of a house. Just haven’t updated their main address online. Been there 3 times. First time was excellent, my hair looked amazinggg and they barely pulled at my hair(normally women yank hair). I noticed they talked a lot and kept asking me questions. Second and third time just went downhill, more gossip, being rude, taking a long time. I like to do my hair with one of the ladies only, the others kept insisting that I let them style my hair(I went with someone else and did not like it). 3rd time– All giving me looks and talking nonstop, awkward experience. Not going back.

I went here twice when I had no other choice and I can honestly say this was the worst experience I’ve ever had at a hair salon. The only reason went twice was because I could afford to other salons in the area that are much more expensive. The women here are very disrespectful and will not hesitate to talk about you and other customers in Spanish. If you know the language you’ll probably have an easier time but if you don’t just be prepared for their rude attitudes and brash behavior.

Not the best experience! I normally hop around hair salons, especially since I moved from NY to NJ and this salon was by far the worst! Attitude = 1.0 I was given attitude as soon as the lady started doing my hair. From wash to blowout all I kept on hearing them talk about was gossip. One particular comment really turned me off and it was about a particular client as soon as she stepped out. Service= 2.0 Horrible! The machines(hairdryer and blowdryer) were as lousy as their attitude. They need to update all their hair supplies and machines, especially their attitude!!! The only good thing that I would say is that the price was cheaper than what I normally pay. But I much rather quality over quantity and this place certainly has major flaws.

I really want to give Jackie’s more stars, but my last visit was so disappointing that I am not comfortable rating them higher. Here’s what happened: I just moved to the area in August, so I am still in search of a regular stylist, or at lease a reliable place for a blowout. The first time I went to Jackie’s(after I found them on Unilocal), it was great. I went on a Sunday for a wash, blowout and flat iron, and the wait was short. The stylists were fast and my hair looked like I expected, and the service was okay. They gave me what I asked for. The second time I went, about 3 weeks later, again on a Sunday, the line was short(a good thing). However, the lady that I got was loud, rough and damn near pushy when I couldn’t understand her thick accent. When I asked for a flat iron, she said no, she doesn’t flat iron. Then she burned my scalp with the blow dryer(I cried a little, it hurt so bad) and said that my hair was nappy… duh! That’s why I want a flat iron! She never flat ironed it, and my hair was frizzy when she finished. By day two I was back in a ponytail. I want to give Jackie’s one more shot, since they are close to where I life and open on Sundays.

There are many things I like about Jackie’s starting with they are very close to my home, they know how to do a good Dominican Blowout, they are super fast every time I go I’m out in about 2hrs, very good price, friendly staff and most important I don’t have to travel to the NYC(traffic, toll money, time, etc) anymore to have my hair done the way I like it.
