Had FRMS install a new 50gal 65K BTU water heater, a new Aprilaire 700 humidifier and service an old furnace. Steve, the owner, was very knowledgable and professional, and never got tired of addressing multiple questions and explaining various technical capabilities. The FRMS crew arrived as scheduled and fully prepared, and performed all work with the highest quality in essentially ~5hours. The pricing was very competitive for a professional mechanical contractor. I had some other contractors of related trades see their work afterwards and got compliments that whoever did this did a nice job. Will use them again. Highly recommended.

Steve, the owner, is a stand up guy who will treat you right. We had a bit of a disagreement and he went out of his way to rectify the situation quickly once he learned about it. I will use them again soon!

One of the most important investment decisions for a home owner is the repair or replacement of an Heating and Air Conditioning System (HVAC) and related components – an Electronic Air Cleaner, Humidifier, Thermostat, and Water Heater. Consequently, access the reviews of customers who have received exemplary service in the purchase and installation of HVAC Systems.

A total of five proposals and estimates were obtained from HVAC companies for replacing my Furnace, Air Conditioner, Electronic Air Cleaner, Humidifier and Thermostat. Front Range Mechanical Services submitted the lowest estimate; whereas, the remaining four included Costco (Cooper), PlumbLine, Southwest Heating and AC, and Applewood.
Notwithstanding, the lowest bid is only one aspect of the equation and I selected FRMS due to several factors: (1) the amazing knowledge base and thorough presentation of Stephen Korff, Home Comfort Specialist and owner; and (2) the quality and warranty of the Amana and Trane products to be installed; and (3) the comprehensive certification of all HVAC Technicians employed by FRMS; and (4) an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau.
Look no further, folks! You are in ‘good hands’ with Stephen Korff and FRMS; and their service technicians. Conclusively, from ‘start’ to ‘finish’ every aspect of this transaction was a pleasant experience. This company should definitely be on your list of bidders when you need a new heating or cooling system. We haven’t used them to do any service/​repair, so can’t speak to that. Like any good consumer I began my diligence by educating myself as much as possible and narrowing down the brands, efficiency, and warranty before calling any contractors. I also asked my friends and neighbors about their experiences and got a solid recommendation about FRM. I did get 3 full estimates, with load calculations, and was slated for the 4^th, until Steve, the owner came by and shut the process down.
He not only understood that I knew the equipment I was interested in, but continued to educate about the brands, manufacturing, reliability, and so much more. He began by pulling out his insurance documents (who does that?), training records, and gave me a checklist of questions to cover for any contractor I consider. Provided me with an ample amount of information that took me the entire evening to read after Steve left. Then inspected our current unit and identified some potential code problems and some ways to fix them that could be accomplished during the install without adding more cost. By the time we were done calculating load, and cooling/​heating need, it was clear that FRM was in first place. We cancelled our final estimate and scheduled the install 2 days later for one week later.
The install guys, who Steve had gushed about, showed up on time, professionally dressed, with an armful of protective cloths for our floors. Within minutes they were removing the old equipment, and soon the delivery truck had arrived with all the new stuff. By noon half of the new unit was in, but things went slow after that since there was a lot of precise fitting at that point. The guys skimped on nothing, and got every detail just right. They refitted our water heater flue to meet current code, re-​piped the gas lines for the furnace and water heater, adjusted the unit to meet the current space requirements, ran combustion pipes for a sealed, high efficiency unit, and answered dozens of my questions throughout the day as they peeled down the old system and install the new one. We replaced the humidifier, turns out the old one was installed backwards, and the new one is so easy to use and looks great. Wish I had done that earlier. When done one of the techs went over everything with us, filled out paperwork, rebates, etc., and did a great clean up. We now have a Amana 96% efficiency with a variable fan, and a 16 SEER AC unit. Both are super quiet, and work very well (10 yr warranty). By the way, Steve quoted the best price, which was actually in line with most, however, one company quoted exactly twice as much and I don’t believe that the equipment was quite as good. So do get 3 — 5 quotes, and definitely one from FRM.
Final note, try to call in the spring before AC season during the slow months. You can help them out, and get the best prices. And you should plan to have your new equipment serviced about once every two years to keep it tip-​top. Most places then want to sell you the «service package», but FRM never even tried. They just highly recommended the service every 2 years, and even told us where to get a coupon for that. I feel good about getting this done so professionally, and you don’t have to get fleeced to get it done right.

These guys not only beat most of the other estimates I got for replacing both the furnace and a/​c, but were also professional and did a kick ass job.
Steve will give you a complete education on HVAC if you need it. He walked me through everything so that I understood all of the work that was required before committing to anything. He also provides a full list of references who you can contact to ask questions on their work.
Included in the price was a crane that they contracted to lift the compressor unit up above the 3^rd floor roof. Took them a solid 6 hours to complete everything and it looks and works fantastic. As a matter of fact, the city inspector gave compliments on the good work that was done to shield the lines from the heat as well as marking everything legible.
I would still suggest that you get at least 5 estimates with different companies before you pick one. I had guys quoting me over $ 12k for a job that truly only cost me 30% less.
And lastly, when they say they’ll be here at 9 am, they aren’t kidding. 4 trucks showed up right on time with guys ready to get going!

Front Range Mechanical Services is a company that I will never recommend due to our experiences with this company. Our experiences started with several unreturned phone calls over the course of three months. (We would have called someone else but already had a check written out for the services paid by the previous homeowner). We were able to get an appointment scheduled, but the technician never called or showed up leading to us rescheduling the appointment.
About 5 minutes into the inspection of our furnace (approx. 14yr old Armstrong), the technician informed my wife that our heat exchanger was cracked and we would need a whole new furnace. This was determined after inspecting our furnace with a flashlight. At this point he was told not to service the unit if it needed replacing and just did the AC unit instead. The technician presented two different packages for a new furnace, and was pushing the lower efficiency model as new regulations would prevent these from being purchased/​installed sometime in the near future. His written quote ranged from $ 3750 -$ 5000. Needless to say, we were surprised of the prognosis and decided to receive a second opinion.
We consulted with a family recommendation that services both residential and commercial furnaces as our second opinion. During his visit, he scoped our furnace, deemed that the ‘crack’ the first technician saw was a seam on the construction of the heat exchanger and was not in need of replacement. Additionally, he was able to certify our furnace and believes that we can get another 10-​years if we properly maintain it.
The second technician who certified the furnace also called the owner of Front Range to explain the gross mistake of their technician explaining his findings. Even with our furnace getting certified he still stood by his technician and did not call us to follow up as promised. Needless to say, I believe that Front Range Mechanical Services was trying to take advantage of my wife being alone to achieve a sale. I will never recommend this company and will be reporting them to the BBB. I would give zero stars if possible.
