It was clear early on that Charles had an interest in a less than traditional spiritual journey. Charles purchased his first tarot deck at age 12 with money earned delivering the local newspaper. By the age of 17, he had discovered Spiritualist Ministers with whom he began to study. Spiritualism is a religion that believes not only in the survival of the soul after death, but that communication with the dead is possible. Charles continued his studies in Spiritualism until his ordination as a Spiritualist Minister in 1991 at the age of 29. Today, using his humor and insight, Charles teaches others to communicate with the so-​called ‘dead’, helping them to build a closer relationship with the ever present Spirit World.
