At Cakeheads, the only thing we love more than our cake is seeing the smiles on our customers cakes when they see them. Well, we also love all the repeat business we get and the nice letters and emails we get about how the cakes tasted too.

Cakeheads does not have a traditional retail location. We are off the beaten path, and well worth the drive. Tucked back in the Inverness Business Park just around the corner from Park Meadows Mall, we make everything from scratch and custom design all of our cakes to exceed our clients expectations.

From elegant masterpiece wedding cakes to fun filled first birthday cakes and everything in between, we do it all, and we do it really well.

History

Established in 2007.

Cakeheads is a very unique custom design cake studio. We do not have a retail shop, and we do not have cakes that are sitting in a refrigerator waiting to be adopted.

At Cakeheads we scratch bake, fill, decorate and box your cake especially for you just before you pick it up. To do this, we need you to order in advance. Our schedule fills up fast, so the sooner you know, the sooner you should call.

We love cake, and cake needs to be enjoyed at its freshest. This is what we believe, and it is what Cakeheads is all about.

We have created a one of a kind concept of a cake bakery that is all about each cake. It does not get any fresher or any better than a Cakeheads cake. Our name and our passion are part of every cake that leaves our door. Give us a call and you will know what we are talking about.

The cake I ordered from Cakeheads was beautifully designed and very good. The reason for the 2 stars is due to service. I ordered a cake for my daughter’s 16th b-​day to picked up on a Friday. IT was right before Christmas and with everything else going on I completely forgot to pick up the cake. This is totally my fault, but given that the bakery is closed on Sat and Sun, you’d think someone would have called from the shop and said, «Hey, we’re closing soon, you haven’t picked up your cake yet.» In any event, I didn’t have the $ 90 cake for my daughter’s b-​day. I think Cakeheads is more of a wholesale bakery than store for individual buyers. Being closed on Saturdays is tough. Cake was good, but I will use a more traditional bakery next time.

I ordered a cake for a friend’s birthday and it was superb. It was a real hit. I found a picture of a cake that I wanted, emailed it to them and they made it! They have flavors you can request for your cake. We had almond chiffon with a bavarian cream filling and it was divine. The buttercream frosting was so smoothly applied you’d have thought it was fondant. The frosting was praised by two of the eaters of the cake as the best ever: one of them used to work in a bakery making frosting and the other guest’s sister is a baker. I call that high praise. It was very silky and smooth and wasn’t crunchy like some frostings can be. The cake was firm yet tender. It was ready about 12 hours before it was promised, which worked out so well for us! Overall, a total success! Being a new transplant to Denver, I now know where to get my special occasion cakes!

Excellent!!! The cake was not only amazing looking, but sooooo delicious! I had them decorate a 50th anniversary cake for my parents. We wanted it to look similar to their original wedding cake with some gold accents on it for their golden anniversary. The cake was moist with the perfect consistency and the icing was creamy and OMG! I will definitely be ordering from them again!

First of all… Cake was DELICIOUS!!!
I ordered at 9am on a Wednesday for my mothers birthday and they were able to have the cake ready by 4pm that same day! I ordered the almond cake with coconut mousse filling and it was a HIT! Even the guests that weren’t fans of coconut loved it! The cake was moist, fluffy and also a perfect level of density. The filling wasn’t overpowering but the taste shined through! Wish I could give cakeheads 6 stars! Customer service was excellent and the product was outstanding.

Our wedding cake was gorgeous and soooo delicious! We got a chocolate cake with cookies and crème icing — amazing :) Staff was very friendly and helpful and cake was ready early the day we needed to pick it up — highly reccomend!

Ordered a lemon birthday cake with butter cream icing. Excellent, perfectly done, fresh and delicious even 3 days after pickup. Perhaps a bit more expensive than others, but that’s the price for perfection.

What a fantastic place to get a cake. They sit down with you, ask questions, get your input, offer theirs and the result is a fantastic cake. They taste as good or better than they look. If you want a custom cake and you want it to taste really good this is the place.
You have to order the cake there are none available but you will not be disappointed…

Birthday cake is a big deal for me and Cakeheads delivered. My husband gave the bakery direction and let them use their creativity (Tim Burton-​themed cake, no characters). What the decorator came up with was gorgeous and sublime. The design was precise and beautiful, and was by far the best cake I’ve ever had. To add to that, the cake was delicious! They followed directions and, from what my husband says, provided great customer service. Although expensive, it was worth it. I will definitely be using them again!

Just got back from the Baby Expo. Thought I’d try their Whoopie pies so I’d know if I want to order when I need a special cake. They were very dry and the Red Velvet didn’t taste like Red Velvet. Not only that, the people didn’t know they’re own product, very unorganized, no prices and Owner was rude and couldn’t be bothered… In today’s business world there are many bakery’s to choose from and this one isn’t on the list. Customer service is key, how they treat you is how they will treat your business. Just another $$…

California resident trying to do surprise party for a friend in denver area. Called several bakeries. .then found Cakeheads. Simply AMAZING! Rosa was fantastic to work with! A few emails and phone calls and we had for exactly what I was thinking.
They delivered the cake on time and it was fantastic! Looked wonderful and tasted yummy. You can’t go wrong with this bakery!

Thank God we found Cakeheads! After having a horrible experience at another bakery in town, we decided to check out Cakeheads Bakery and they went above and beyond to help us out. I got married in June of 2013, and had about 200 people at the wedding. I wanted to do cupcakes that looked like flowers, and Cherrie and Brad were able to make exactly what I had pictured. Not only were the cupcakes beautiful, but they were probably the best cupcakes I have ever had. During our consultation they also gave us a tour of their facility, and showed us a bunch of previous cakes they had made for other events. Cherrie and Brad are passionate about what they do, and that passion shows in all of the things they create. Thank you, Cakeheads, for helping to make my wedding a day I will never forget!

The only interaction I’ve had with Cakeheads is at the bridal expo at The Curtis I understand these things are crazy but I’d never order a cake for a wedding or any occasion because they were so rude. Thanks for shoving a sample of cake in my face but I can get better service and certainly better cake elsewhere.

I guess they specialize in wedding cakes, but they also take orders on other requests too. Took me a while to find this place because it’s definitely located in the middle of no where. Definitely more than meets they eye the place is huge! It’s like a factory. Something out of Willy Wonka minus the Oompa Loompas. All kidding aside I ordered two cakes one for my best friend’s baby shower which they decorated it themselves it was an uni cake (taro) and the other one was a Hello Kitty red velvet birthday cake. They even gave me a discount since I ordered two cakes. The owner even helped me carefully carry the cakes out to my car. I would definitely recommend them and look forward to doing business with them in the near future.

My fiancé and I are starting the process of planning our wedding and went to Cakeheads Bakery after they were recommended by a friend.
The cake there is delicious. The butter cream frosting was light and wonderful, and the cake was just the right amount of moist.
Why the two stars? Well, in my book customer service goes a long way. We showed up a few minutes early for our 10am appointment, and sat in the lobby for several minutes waiting for someone to show up to assist us. After about ten minutes we called to say that we were there waiting in the lobby. The woman who came to assist us never introduced herself to us, did not ask us our names, and in fact, blamed her forgetfulness on me stating that I had not confirmed my appointment although I had spoken to her on the phone to make the appointment.
The icing on the cake for me (haha!) was that my fiancé and I had stated several times that we disliked fondant, and she kept pushing us to use fondant on the cake stating that theirs was much different than other bakery fondants. (There was no fondant on the cakes that we sampled, so how do I know it’s any different?)
Overall, the experience that we had here was not positive.

Unfortunately, I will not have the opportunity to try Cakeheads’ wares (also, just noticed the self-​proclaimed «première» Denver bakery only has one rating…).
Personally, it’s a red flag for me when I initially encounter non-​responsiveness and apparent disorganization: After initially confirming they would accomodate my special occasion cake order, telling me when I should call them, they ended up not being in the shop at that time and neglected to respond to my follow-​up to resolve just one question before finalizing the order. Plus, I was really not impressed that, after sending them a detailed e-​mail of the kind of cake I was requesting, when I later called at the appointed time, the first thing the bakery employee said to me was «I apologize you didn’t get a response» before I fully explained why I was calling.
Then, when I explained I had e-​mailed a detailed description a few days earlier and was calling to settle one detail in order to finalize the order, the person on the phone had me repeat everything I had already e-​mailed to them (it worried me that they didn’t seem to have customer files to refer to with printouts of, say, confirmed orders in progress, orders to be finalized, etc. as other bakers have to ensure accuracy and save everyone some time), and then assured me one of the bakers would get back to me that day. Of course they never got back to me. By this point, I wouldn’t have felt comfortable working with them, anyway.
No matter, I am having my special cake done by another area bakery that has more positive reviews and who came across as organized and responsive, not to mention just very personable and pleasant.

I see Red. Delicious moist red heaven in a palm size cake topped with luscious cream cheese frosting. Lucky for me, my girlfriend was having a birthday which gave me the perfect excuse to search for THE cake. But I wanted something smaller than a whole cake to celebrate. As I walked by Cakeheads booth at the Cherry Creek Farmers Market I knew they were the perfect match.
Being the most indecisive person in the world it was a blessing when I sat eyes on the Red Velvet cupcake. Who doesn’t love Red Velvet Cake? Immediately I ordered one. Then on on second thought I ordered two. What the heck? I gotta try it out before I present it right?
So I giddily dressed it up with a single birthday candle and it was a success! She absolutely loved it! And why wouldn’t she? It was moist and crumbly and the perfect shade of red. The cream cheese frosting was light and thick at the same time with the perfect amount of sweetness and ever so creamy. The only down side was I had to share it with my boyfriend. I should have bought three! And at only $ 3 a pop it would have been well worth it! And worth every extra mile I need to run to burn it off!
