Broken Tee Golf Course

Broken Tee Golf Course (formally Englewood Golf Course) is my favorite facility around. They offer a challenging par 3 course, an 18 hole course and an awesome practice facility with driving range and multiple chipping and putting greens. They have lights on at night during the summer months. Their prices are extremely reasonable and the course is usually in very good condition for a municipal golf course. I’ve been playing here for over 12 years, since before the big redesign, and I love the new layout. The thing that puts this course over the top for me though and keeps me coming back is the staff. From the folks at the front desk in the pro shop to the teaching pros (Scotty is a great teacher) to the management (Bob Spada) everyone takes time to say hello and smile and make you feel welcome.

I have played for years and walked this course today — a Wednesday. Not crowded and play was fast. Overall in pretty good shape. Greens putted well. Nice views and staff. Everyone cutting the lawn waved at me. Negatives– for a first time user I was confused between a number of holes– need more signs and be sure walkers can see them. Apparently, sprinklers have yardage but I had difficult finding them on a number of holes.
Overall a good experience and I will definitely return.

I’d really like to rant but will try to keep this bullet-​pointed and as objective as possible.
— $ 16 is the only thing going for this course
— Grounds keeping is poor, and the greens are a casserole of various types of grass. Where the green ends and the fringe begins was a scraggly mess. No clean cuts
— It’s a pretty tight course, but not in a good and challenging way. It is challenging but only because all the holes are lying right on top of each other. It’s a lack of real estate rather than good design
— The elderly lady at the desk is strictly by the book. If you’re looking for good customer service she’s not the one to go to. She told us we had to be off the course at 730. Why was I given a 535 tee time then? We were on hole 8 when 730 rolled around. She drove up and said we had to return the carts. If we wanted to play the last hole we had to walk back. There was even a couple halfway down #9 that wasn’t allowed to finish their hole.
— It’s worth the extra $ 4 to play at Overland right up the road. Trust me

I have been playing this course since before it was broken tee (before the remodel) and it is a great place to play. For the quality of the course, it is extremely affordable. I have never faced an issue with the staff and it is a very family friendly course. Overall, love this course and will continue to play there!

The course, itself, is a nice layout… tough enough for a single digit handicap, playable for a beginner. The first six holes were designed by Pete Dye… and are a total departure from the rest of the course. Fun and different. The price is fair… especially on weekdays. HOWEVER, the pace of play is a JOKE! Even on a Monday, the pace for 18 can exceed 5 hours. Pace of play is a big issue in the golf world, as most double digit handicappers take too many practice swings… too many «do overs»…too much time over putts they miss anyway. But, the course needs to monitor and regulate these issues. If a group is falling behind, someone… ANYONE from the course should be out there keeping an eye on pace. This course not only doesn’t care about pace… they never monitor it. Played three times… on weekend and weekday… never once have I seen a marshall. Not going back… can’t recommend… until they fix the pace of play.

I have been playing at Broken Tee for several years now and really enjoy the course. Both the 18 hole and par 3 courses are in great condition. The greens are smooth, fairways are clean and in good shape. On several occasions I have seen the manager driving around the course asking golfers about their rounds and how their experience has been, taking initiative to fix any problems that do arise. Very friendly and personable guy. Prices are low, especially for how good of quality the course is. Definitely a great value, and they constantly have deals and specials that lower the prices even more. Fun course for all ages and skill levels. No complaints.

Absolute rudest staff. Was 15 minutes early to our tee time but the woman working the register had no idea what she was doing and it took her 20 minutes to check the people in front of us in. As we went get our carts the rude man told us we missed our tee time and that we were here late. Never playing at this backwards course again

Course was in fantastic shape as were the greens. The only reason I am giving this a 3 instead of a 4 or 5 is the pace of play. It was atrociously slow. Need to keep the pace of play up … But I guess I should not expect much from a course that allows people to wear jeans and a t-​shirt on course.

Won’t play this again. The pace was over 5 ½. No marshals. This is a very family friendly place; lots of kids playing the course. The layout is awkward. Hard to tell which tee box is next as all of the holes are super close and a par 3 is mixed in too. There are few boxes right next to greens.

Ok layout… great practice area. Overall I think the value is there… if you’re looking for a reasonable course at a decent price then check this course out!

I would love to be able to recommend this course… and really want to be able to play there… but I am done and can’t go back. I have played here three times because I really do enjoy the layout. It is in good to decent shape for a muni course and for the price you pay. My biggest problem is pace of play. The first time we played it was on a weekend and the pace was sooooooooo slow that we just left and didn’t finish our round. We finally went back and tried it during the week and played 9 holes. It was great. No one in front of us and great pace of play. We figured the key was avoid weekends. But alas, we went back again, during the week and it took 2 hours and 45 minutes to play 9 holes. They do not marshall the course at all that I can tell. In playing it three times we never saw a marshall to help out with pace of play.

I really enjoy playing at broken tee. Both the 18 hole and 9 hole par 3 course are great. The course has beautiful views of the mountains. It’s reasonably priced, and seems to have something for all levels of golfers to enjoy. I am a beginner and playing the par 3 course is perfect for me. The course is fairly busy on weekends but no where as busy as any public course in Denver.

Great course for everyone from my young kids who are just starting to learn the game to my husband who is a fanatic golfer!!! And I love the partnership with the Bear Creek Jr. Golf program!

Two great courses 18 and par 3 considering the location. We played the 18 hole course. The facilities are very impressive. They got very nice driving range and practice putting greens. Carts are typical of courses. Golf shop is decent size with good verity of stuff in case you forgot something. Course itself is very green. Tee boxes were in ok shape. Some greens very nice some just ok. They had a beverage cart which was nice.
Overall very nice course with friendly staff. They also have a learning center on site. Played decent and looking forward to playing it again. Good bang for the buck too.

My husband and I came here Saturday evening at 5pm to play the par 3 course. The rates are super low for evenings and par 3 is perfect for me at my ‘beginners’ level. We were quickly signed in and given instructions on how to navigate on to the next holes (follow the cart paths).
The course itself is excellent and as challenging as I would expect for an average of ~120 yards per hole. Some holes were pretty easy and some had such high hills that you had to guess where the hole might actually be. If mobility is hard for you, this might not be the best choice (or take a cart) as there were a lot of hills.
My lack of 4 stars is primarily due to the layout. Holes are difficult to find and we only saw one sign that pointed out directions. The 9^th hole is tucked on the opposite side of the driving range and you’re looking at a small hike to get back to the clubhouse/​parking lot.
If you’re a full course player, they have a Saturday night ‘date night’ special that sounds super fun. My husband has taken up playing the full course and has reported that the burgers at the restaurant are delicious. We’ll definitely be back!

This is the old Englewood GC with a nice update on the layout. The greens were a little rough and the fairways a little brown in some areas but not too bad. The course has some challenging holes and I did loose a few balls but that is due more to my skills than anything else. :)
Overall a nice public course and a fair price for the experience.

The first six holes are pretty boring, after that the course gets much more challenging… The front desk is really slow but I’ve never experience any «rudeness» by the staff, the card girls were very friendly.
Nice little practice area, range, etc. Just nothing really stands out about this course, therefore I think it’s a little overpriced, $ 40 w/​cart would be more like it.
Nothing bad to say but nothing really good either.

Had a little tourney here this weekend. The course layout itself is nice, shorter course with lots of water, the back 9 to me seemed a little ruff. The greens looked terrible though and really could use some much needed TLC.
However, the beer cart was right on time! :-) Never missed us.
For the price and the play it seems fitting.

Great little course in Englewood. The entire layout of the course was updated about 2 years ago and has made this course much nicer.
They have an 18 hole championship course, a par 3 course, driving range, and practice area. This course is a great bang for your buck, under $ 50 for 18 holes w/​cart. I recently played here with 2 foursomes and they were very accommodating.
They take very good care of the grounds here and the greens are well manicured. For the price and and the condition of the course, I’m a fan for sure.
