I had a sewer line backup into my basement and during the water remediation portion of it we found it tested hot for Asbestos. The company doing the water cleanup on the floor, New Season Restoration, recommended and coordinated with this asbestos company (as they could not remove it due to the Asbestos). Joel with Asbestos came out and to give me an estimate was very courteous and professional. After the work was authorized by State Farm, the staff that came out with co-​owner Bob was very friendly and professional as well. No complaints there.
After the job was completed and the staff had left, I noticed 2 pieces of drywall that had gotten wet from the gray water (you could also see the water stain) yet they hadn’t been removed. Additionally these pieces were NOT on any edges of where the damage had occurred. In fact, one of the two pieces was skipped over, but both sides of it was removed. The second piece was in an area where there was drywall on both pieces of the 2x4s, and the exterior piece was cut, but not the interior piece, even though it had become wet with the bacteria water too.
To make a long story short, I contacted Bob to come out and look at those two pieces as I did not understand why they would have been skipped. He came out and felt that the job had been completed sufficiently — that the two pieces were too difficult to reach and cut, and the fact they had been damaged by the gray water was not a concerning as the pieces would be out of site. I did not agree with this answer so I called New Season Restoration to get their professional opinion. They came out and agreed that because the drywall had been damaged and had bacteria, that it should have been removed. They took it upon themselves to remove it (these pieces did not have Asbestos), and the job only took 10 minutes to complete. On top of that, they did not charge me.
I was disappointed in the lack of resolution with Asbestos Abatement.

Asbestos was discovered in our home during a large renovation project which put progress on hold. Lucky for us our contractor found Joel Egelman and he and his crew removed everything in a timely and efficient manner while keeping costs down. Everything was handled professionally and fairly and we felt very taken care of. You can’t go wrong with this company!

I was able to reach an agreement with these gentlemen. Problem was a miscommunication… unfortuantely, that happens. They were GREAT in working with me to resolve my issues and were very fair and professional. I appreciate you all working with me at Asbestos Abatement! Thanks Joel and your team!
