With a world-​class faculty and specialized curricula, we strive to offer comprehensive programs to suit individual needs and interests. In addition we provide Piano Lessons, Guitar Lessons, Violin Lessons and Drum Lessons. We also provide beginner piano classes and beginner violin classes. We currently serve all of Bergen County including Tenafy, Fort Lee, Cliffside Park, Palisades Park, Edgewater, and Englewood Cliffs.

History

Established in 2011.

Located in Englewood Cliffs, NJ, we are the first community music school founded and organized by Juilliard alumni who are committed to providing a high caliber of music education, from elementary through advanced levels, to students of all ages. Our faculty is comprised of experienced and dedicated teaching artists who have received their formal training at prestigious programs at conservatories and universities such as The Juilliard School, Yale School of Music, Peabody Conservatory, and New England Conservatory.

With a world-​class faculty and specialized curricula, Areté Music Academy strives to offer comprehensive programs to suit individual needs and interests. In addition to private lessons, our offerings also include music courses for preschoolers, beginner group classes for young children, competitive program for advanced students, ensemble opportunities, and group classes and seminars for adults, as well as several faculty and student concerts throughout the year.

Meet the Business Owner

Li-​Ling W.

Business Owner

Prior to founding Arête Music Academy, Ms. Li-​Ling has worked at some of the country’s leading performing arts institutions, including Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, Inc., The Juilliard School, Bravo! Chamber Music, and Lyric Chamber Music Society.

She has managed projects for numerous special events, such as Juilliard’s centennial press conference, Rolling Stone’s press conference, Christopher Reeve’s memorial event, Sir Elton John’s benefit concert at Radio City Music Hall, and Juilliard’s benefit gala Classified Jazz. She also has worked closely with both American and international journalists and film crews on documentaries and featured articles that appeared in The New York Times, New York Magazine, 20/​20, 60 Minutes, Strad, and Vogue, to name a few.

A classically trained musician, Ms. Wang completed her master and bachelor of music degrees in cello performance at The Juilliard School where she was a pupil of the late cello master Harvey Shapiro.
