New England Urgent Care is directed and provided by board-certified emergency medicine physicians with over 20 years emergency care experience.
Michael Gutman, MD, PhD, FACEP, Medical Director, has been in practice for over 20 years. In 1988, Dr. Gutman received his MD/PhD at the University of Western Ontario. He initially began his career training for Neurosurgery before switching to Emergency Medicine residency, earning his American Board Certification in 1996 and working as an attending emergency physician at St. Francis Hospital, Hartford. In 2002, Dr. Gutman joined the US Army Reserves following 9⁄11. He was deployed overseas three times over a five-year period — twice to Iraq and once to Bosnia.
Dr. Gutman brings his keen intellect and passion for excellent care — gained from years of training and experience — to his patients here at New England Urgent Care.

Yahel G.
Business Owner
Yahel Gutman, RN, BSN, Clinical Director, has extensive experience in emergency care nursing, teaching Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Trauma. In 2009, as an emergency care nurse, Yahel received the Nightingale Award for Excellence in Nursing from Saint Francis Hospital.
A graduate of Hebrew University, Yahel’s impressive résumé includes teaching emergency care in the Israeli Army, teaching in nursing school and working as an ICU nurse. In 1991, after switching her main focus to emergency care, Yahel taught pre-hospital emergency care and ACLS, was part of the ED management team, and a nursing director of a bone marrow transplant unit.
Yahel’s vast knowledge and love of emergency nursing provides patients of New England Urgent Care with compassionate care and thorough treatment education.
