I got Matzoh Ball soup and my husband got a corned beef sandwich, to go, and both were totally delicious! The chicken noodle soup and the matzoh ball were so flavorful, and not too salty as some places tend to make them. The matzoh ball was big, light and fluffy The soup was packaged so that it was still piping hot once we got it home-it was full of delicious chunks of chicken(a combo of dark & white meat)…plenty of white meat which is my favorite… plenty of yummy noodles… and also plenty of thick carrot slices cooked perfectly! Truly delicious! My husband loved his hot corned beef on rye… fresh, moist, and tasty. We are so happy we found this GREAT neighborhood deli! We will definitely be regulars at Uncle Bernie’s Deli!

I love Uncle Bernies! Their Corn Beef Sandwiches and Brisket and sensational! I love the staff there, and Cindy’s Mother makes the best brownies! The manager Max is ever so nice and well as all the people who work there! In my opinion, Uncle Bernies is better then Brents!

Seriously the best matzo ball soup in the valley, maybe even the best in Los Angeles. Their tuna sandwich is also incredible and the pickles they give you are also amazing.

We’ve been ordering takeout and delivery through the Eat24 app from this place for years. This is our go to spot for Matzo Ball Soup, vanilla ice cream and eclairs. Best Matzo Ball Soup I’ve had thus far, waaaayyy better than Jerry’s Deli! They have friendly staff, great delivery times, and the food portions are relatively large as well. Their prices are fair. This deli is definitely a staple in the community.

Their rueben sandwich and soups are really good but the giant tall cakes are too dense and not fluffy nor airy. Price is typical diner price – slightly on the higher end but that’s expected from a deli/diner. Plenty of parking around the plaza + street parking. The staff makes you feel like home.

Uncle Bernie’s has terrible food. The food i tried was awful. At minimum do not eat any pasta dish or the matzo ball soup. In the past it had been good, but now it is absolutely awful. I thought this place was better, had wings and burger once a couple of years ago and it was great, went way downhill. Oh and i was shamed into updating my review to correct spelling errors. So I did, guess what, the place still gets NO stars. Grammer or spelling doesn’t change that.

What’s there to say about Uncle Bernies? LOVELOVELOVE their Matzo Ball soup(without the chicken). Their takeout service rocks! I’ve only dined there twice so I really can’t judge the service. I just prefer to eat at home in my bed and be fat and happy with my NY Style Deli Food that ever so often i crave. I’ve also had them deliver to my house when I’m sick. They pack it up well, but do expect to wait an hour ESPECIALLY during lunch time. The one thing about Uncle Bernies is that most of their clientele are of an older crowd. That’s ok, cause really it’s all about Deli/Diner food and for me, the convenience that it is close to home.

Good food. Good parking. Service a little slow as they are packed at lunch time. Overall I liked and will return and recommend.

I used to work right next door so I would pop in for lunch all the time. I LOVE their soups, sometimes I’d get the matzo ball(6.95) and sometimes the chicken noodle.(5.95) It’s a nice sized bowl of soup for the price, lots of meat and noodles. They have potato knish’s that I looove!(5.75) They also have a half sandwich deal which comes with a side and you can get either a soup or salad for $ 11.50. Their sandwiches are BIG so I can never finish both. The options of sandwiches are pastrami, roast beef, corned beef, brisket, turkey, or honey ham. They also will give you pickles for the table. I’m from Long Island, NY and most of the«NY deli» style places I try here don’t impress me. This is an authentic jewish NY deli with a really big menu! Also, I’d usually take lunch around 12 and it would be PACKED(no wait, but they would shove me in a corner) and its really adorable that most of the customers are seniors. They play cards and come in big groups, its really sweet. :)

I am so disappointed in Uncle Bernie’s and will NEVER go back. The older blond woman working there should be ashamed how she treated me(a loyal customer). The condescending way she spoke to me and looked at me was beyond insulting. I’m glad to see you must be doing amazing business if you can afford to lose loyal customers over such a small petty slice of lettuce and tomato. Keep up the good work! I will never go back there and I sure as hell won’t encourage my friends to either!!! And for the record, the French fries were old and cold and there was syrup all over the table! Worst experience there ever! Bye bye Bernie!

My baby was sick over the weekend so we were home for 2 days straight. It wasn’t that bad because my husband was home with us so we made it fun. Monday rolled around and he went to work and it was another day indoors for us. We were starting to get bored. All the toys and games were getting old. My husband surprised us and came home early and we decided to go out to eat after being cooped up. I looked like sh*t(no makeup, frumpy clothes, hair tied back). My baby was in her pjs and hair a hot mess. You would have totally judged us if you saw us. Anyways… we wanted a low key place where we would be certain not to bump into anyone. Bernie’s is just the spot(unless you’re over 60-in which case you should totally go here and even try to pick up if you’re single) Food: pastrami is comparable to Brent’s. Meaning it’s delicious. Trio salad substitute the liver for tuna is really good and filling. I didn’t like the fat steak fries. I also thought the chicken noodle soup was meh. They have free wifi, tvs with the game and fight on. All the tables were occupied with seniors playing cards or dominos or something. It’s super cute. Staff is extremely nice and accommodating. Overall cozy, low key spot with awesome staff.

I’ve never liked coming here. My family drags me… The restaurant is dumpy and pretty much everything is mediocre. One time I ordered a side of fruit… the fruit was old and soggy. It had been sitting it water to preserve it for way too long. I sent it back. Recently, I was sick and my father picked me up their vegetable soup. I was so surprised that it was absolutely delicious and 100% vegan. It was tomato broth based with lots of carrots and cabbage. I may not like coming here, but I might actually get that soup again!

I didn’t sit inside the restaurant to eat, so this review is solely based on the take out. I was feeling really sick so I ordered a quart of matzo ball soup to go. I also had an unsweetened iced tea. The soup was prepared fairly quickly, and was pretty tasty. It could use a few more veggies and noodles though. My soup had two huge matzo balls which were delicious, but not as much chicken and other stuff as I would like. I also requested and extra matzo ball which is an extra fee. The iced tea was basic. Nothing to really rave about. Besides the lack of veggies I also think it’s pretty pricy. My order came out to around $ 20something dollars and that was for two items. Other then that I haven’t tried anything else. But on a sick day, I will be getting more matzo ball soup if I can’t find a different less costly place.

I have never actually been inside Uncle Bernie’s but we order takeout from here a lot for our office. The food is delivered in a timely manner and we are never disappointed. The prices are decent for the amount of food that you get. The menu has plenty to choose from and they offer breakfast all day. The sandwiches are quite large and come with a lot of meat. The soups are good. The salads are huge. We have learned to ask for the french fries well done so that when they get to our office, they are not soggy(also ask them to put a hole in the box so the heat escapes also preventing soggy fries). This is one of our favorite places to get food delivered from. You get great quality food at a good price. 52⁄100

A mediocre deli(Uncle Bernie’s) replaces a mediocre deli(Fromin’s)? Don’t really understand that business model. Pretty spacious. Four TVs to watch various sporting events(or whatever’s on). Matzoh Brei was too soft, and just ok. Even though it opened in 2014, the owners went with a very anti-modern, 1980s décor. And the service was bleh(rating based solely on the food). Oh, and if you want day(s)-old Black and White Cookies from Bea’s Bakery just down the street, this place is for you.

Good for chicken soup and that maybe it . Run down and very tired this deli needs a face lift as do most of it’s patrons . If you don’t have white hair you might feel out of place not that I mind . The service is fair . The food is fair. nothing of craving value Easy free parking
