Established in 1983.
Speech, Language and Educational Associates was founded by Helen Sherman Wade in 1983. Our multidisciplinary team of educators and therapists work together with families to enhance the lives of individuals with special needs, using systematic and innovative strategies and programs to develop strong understanding, speaking, reading and writing skills. SLEA is dedicated to assuring that every individual has the opportunity to achieve his or her lifelong learning and communication potential

Business Owner
Helen Sherman-Wade, MA, CCC-SLP has over 30 years of experience working with children and adults exhibiting speech, language, stuttering and learning problems, as well as with early infant and family intervention. She established her private practice in 1983 and Speech Associates has grown to employ over 180 therapists who are bringing the highest level of care to the diverse communities of Los Angeles.
Helen also served as an Instructor in the Department of Communicative Disorders at California State University Northridge for 30 years as well as an Adjunct Professor with the Department of Special Education at California State University Dominguez Hills for 3 years. She has served in LAUSD as an educator in an Aphasia classroom, an itinerant speech and language specialist, a bilingual diagnostic examiner, as well as the coordinator of Aphasia Program Testing.
