History
Established in 1972.
Founded in 1972 by Senior Partner Sandy Singer (formerly of Price Waterhouse), the firm has advised clients on private investments and real estate for over 40 years. Managing Partner Matthew Burke (formerly with Ernst & Whinney) joined the firm in 1990 and oversees the comprehensive accounting, tax, financial, retirement and estate planning practice providing service to hundreds of clients. Tax partner Aaron Zimmer joined the firm in 1994 (formerly with Arthur Young & Co.) Aaron also has a law degree and has passed the California State Bar. Business management partner David Butler is a graduate of California State University — Long Beach and has over twenty years worth of experience in Business Management working with clients in the entertainment industry. Richard Singer is COO of Singer Burke’s SEC-registered investment arm (RIA) — SB Capital Management, Inc. which advises on approximately half a billion of investments under management.

Mr. Burke serves as Managing Partner of the firm that he joined in 1990 (Singer Burke Zimmer & Butler LLP) and Chief Financial Officer of the firm he co-founded in 1999 — SB Capital Management, Inc. As a financial and business advisor to high net worth individuals and entrepreneurs for the past three decades, Mr. Burke and his team are responsible for the cash management and asset management of approximately half a billion dollars, as well as, providing comprehensive tax, financial, retirement and estate planning to hundreds of clients.
Prior to coming to Singer Burke & Company, Mr. Burke served as a partner at a local entertainment based CPA firm in Beverly Hills, CA; managed the corporate offices of a national real estate syndication firm based in San Mateo, CA; and was a member of the small business practice group at the international CPA firm Ernst & Young.
