Business Owner

Doctor Nissler graduated in 1967 from Northwestern University in Chicago. After serving in the U.S. Coastguard he opened a private practice in Evergreen, Colorado and was on the faculty of the University Of Colorado School Of Dentistry. He became involved with dental study groups and continuing education and began working with an international group of dentists who taught advanced restorative and reconstruction dentistry. He was also on the faculty of U.C.L. A. and USC Dental Schools. He relocated to California in 1986 and has continued to practice in Encino. His practice focuses on total body wellness and its connection to oral health. His emphasis is on (Reconstructive) Dentistry and its relationship with the supporting structures of the face and Temporomandibular Joints.

THE BEST. If you are suffering from TMJ (TMD) and you are lucky enough to live within driving distance of Dr. Nissler — you have found the person who can get to the bottom of your problem and fix it. With many years under his belt as a TMJ expert, lecturer and teacher in this field, Dr. Nissler applies very deep knowledge and experience to his work. His thorough analysis and skillful adjustment returned my jaw to health after years of pain and malfunction. I was referred to him by my dentist and now my dentist is seeing him for care. He is as good as it gets in the art of dentistry. Don’t waste time and money elsewhere.

I have been seeing Dr. Nissler for many years. He reconstructed my mouth 8 years ago and to this day I’m still thrilled with it. Dr. Nissler is extremely patient and the office staff are all wonderful.
Just recently Dr. Nissler did a full mouth reconstruction on my sister’s mouth and all I can say is WOW! Thank you Dr. Nissler for giving my sister her smile back…

Dr. Nissler was referred to me by my late mother. She dealt with several terrible experiences in her lifetime with the worst of dentists — and tons of issues to boot (which I have inherited as well). Even though Dr. Nissler is out of my family’s insurance network, he and his staff has cared for me for the past 12 years — I would not see anyone else, at any price, ever. He is conservative, caring, likeable and truly an artist in his field. He’s seen me through multiple root canals, bridges, crowns, gum surgery, deep cleanings, wisdom teeth extraction, clenching issues and more than I care to list. Oddly enough people say I have «perfect teeth»… if they only knew!
There’s something to be said for a guy who is a knowledgeable and skillful dentist by day and a true «artist» by night. His office is full of master-​class oil paintings painted by the doctor himself — it’s truly awe-​inspiring. Inspiration that translates directly to his dental artistry. His cosmetic work, in a word is: superlative.
His staff is just wonderful. Judy, the office manager who makes sure every patient is properly cared for; Shellee who’s somehow always in a great mood — ready to help with your bookings, calls, etc.; Sona who’s wit, wicked sense of humor and knowledge of dentistry will knock you out of your boots; or Jennifer who keeps my hygiene in check, always making sure I’m doing my proper «routine» daily — and letting me know when I’m deficient. They are all, as a team, amazing at what they do. They make you feel like family… and it’s not bullshit — they really do care about you and your dental care.
No one better, seriously. If you need basic cleanings and have perfect teeth, call 1 – 800 DENTIST. If you need a real dentist, don’t walk… RUN to Dr. Nissler and his wonderful staff and associate dentists.
My mom would be proud to know that I’m still with Dr. Nissler and co.

My stepdad recommended Dr. Nissler to me, and I am so thankful! Dr. Nissler is a kind and patient man, who takes the time to explain what he is doing to his patients and answer any questions. This is my first Unilocal review, and I signed up just to give Dr. Nissler and his team 5 stars. His office staff is friendly, his hygienists are thorough, and he seems to enjoy learning and employing new and better techniques. You can tell from the paintings in his office, all of which he painted himself, that he is careful, precise, and thoughtful in all he does. Even when I accidentally missed an appointment, he and his staff were understanding. He is a gentle man who seems to have a big heart, and he does great work on my teeth and jaw! Hoping my new splint excellently crafted by Dr. Nissler will help with some nagging TMD issues. Thanks to Dr. Nissler and his team for everything!

I will not go ANYWHERE else!!!
I have been a patient for 10+ years and so have many of my friends and all of my family members.
The office is very clean, welcoming and decorated beautifully with Dr. Nissler’s amazing oil paintings from his trips around the world. The staff here, is truly exceptional, they are so professional, friendly and knowledgeable. The equipment and technology are always up to date. There are only good things to be said about this practice!
I have tried other dentists because I was trying to take advantage of my employer provided HMO insurance, and let me tell you, I had some scary experiences! I decided I would rather pay out of pocket for quality work than go somewhere for free, only to be told I have 8 cavities! I ran straight back to Dr. Nissler, and he could only find 1 teeny-​tiny cavity, which was so small he filled it on the spot and with out the need for Novocain.
If you are in need of a skilled Dentist that is honest, trustworthy and genuine, you should definitely make an appointment as soon as possible at the office of Peter Nissler!

My family and I have been a patients of Dr. Nissler for many years. My first introduction to Dr. Nissler was when I had a strange cyst on the inside of my lower lip. In a matter of minutes, it was removed with no pain, stitches or need for any further treatment. Thanks to Dr. Nissler my teeth and oral health remain in excellent condition. Of course no office is complete without a staff and his is always courteous and helpful. The addition of Dr. Linda Makuta will only enhance the quality of care in this already terrific dental office.

I have invested the care of my teeth to Dr. Nissler for almost 30 years. He is responsible for rescuing my jaw from serious TMJ problems and has taken my oral care from cavities and crowns through my first dental implant. Even when I moved an hour away and tried other dentists I have never found anyone I feel so comfortable with — professionally, personally, financially — so I willingly commute whenever I need dental care. There is no one in my life who has given me such excellent medical support over so many years. I can give no higher recommendation.

I was having some major problems with TMJ disorder and was transitioning from one insurance company to another. I called Dr. Nissler’s office and spoke to Judy, who was very sweet and let me know that Dr. Nissler was, unfortunately, not a provider for my insurance company, but would work with a PPO to help me get whatever reimbursement was possible. I am going through a rough financial time and just couldn’t afford to do a major treatment plan. A few minutes after I hung up, Judy called me back to say that Dr. Nissler had overheard and was willing to do a cursory evaluation and give me some direction to get help. We set up a same-​day appointment and I went in that afternoon.
The office is lovely and relaxing and Judy and Shellee (office coordinator and hygienist) were kind and friendly. Dr. Nissler, himself, is just the loveliest man with a twinkle in his eyes. He is kind, gentle and creative (he paints and has his work on the walls of the office.) While the doctor attended to his «actual» patients, Shellee came in to the room and chatted with me.
Dr. Nissler then proceeded to take my TMJ appliance, which had been fitted by a previous dentist, and spent about an hour adjusting it until it was comfortable and usable (I hadn’t been able to wear it properly before.) At the end of the visit, Dr. Nissler let me know that there was no charge for the visit.
After feeling on edge, partially due to the worry and pain of my loudly clicking jaw, I left the office feeling relieved and supported by a wonderful team of professionals.
This was a wonderful experience and my deepest thanks goes out to Dr. Nissler, Judy and Shellee! This kind of experience just doesn’t happen often. I am very grateful!

I was referred to Dr. Nissler and it was one of the best referrals I have ever received.
Dr. Nissler made a mouth guard for me that has proved to be HIGHLY BENEFICIAL. Many mornings, I would wake up with terrible headaches and neck pain as a result of grinding my teeth.
Dr. Nissler, took an imprint of my mouth and made a mouth guard for me. With his expertise he has perfected the mouth guard and as a result of wearing the mouth guard the headaches have decreased tremendously and I am no longer having recurring headaches.
He is truly very knowledgeable, kind, patient, caring and he takes the time to thoroughly explain in detail the diagnosis, process and procedures for making the perfect mouth guard. He is a Dentist that truly enjoys his work and helping patients find a pain-​free solution.
Everyone in the office is very friendly and helpful. Dr. Nissler is not only a great dentist but a very talented artist. The office is very nice, clean and all the paintings in the office are products of Dr. Nissler’s unique gifts and talents. All the artwork on the walls throughout the office was painted by Dr. Nissler. BEAUTIFUL & INCREDIBLE!
