HRC Fertility

I feel so blessed and grateful that Dr. Boostanfar selected me to participate in an on going IVF clinical trial. Not only did I get pregnant on my first try but it was completely FREE. I feel so lucky and thankful to be apart of this once in a lifetime opportunity.

I only have experience with this facility as an egg donor. I only detracted a star due to one issue, which I will explain below.
To briefly summarise, the level of communication and effort from the staff at HRC Encino (and also one of their affiliate offices) was absolutely excellent. Joana Vasile (LVN) went above and beyond to ensure that I always knew exactly what I was supposed to be doing, and even went so far as to drive 45 minutes to get me my medications when the pharmacy didn’t ship them. She was fantastic the whole way through, as was Maribel and the other nurses — I always got lightning fast responses from them when I had questions via email.
Only one small aspect of the actual egg retrieval was an issue for me. Overall, things went very well — the nurse (Oksana) was awesome, and did everything possible to help me be more comfortable. She did a great job putting in the IV (almost completely painless, which says a lot about her experience!), and even had heating packs already on me when I woke up and was recovering. The anaesthesiologist was also awesome — I experienced no pain and don’t remember a thing (I also didn’t feel at all nauseated when I woke up, which I read sometimes happens).
My only complaint is that Dr. Boostanfar never spoke to me, neither before or after the egg retrieval procedure. I realise that the facility is extremely busy, but it seemed strange to me that he didn’t greet me beforehand and/​or come after to check on me and to let me know how everything went. I understand that it’s a fairly minimally invasive procedure, and I’m not the type that typically needs or wants a lot of handholding from medical professionals, but the total lack of acknowledgement seemed a bit dismissive (maybe donors aren’t really the priority patients?). The nurses continually told me that he would be coming to check in while I was in recovery, but I ended up waiting around 2 hours before they told me that they would just discharge me and have him call me when he could. I left at about 1 PM. The doctor never called me that day, or anytime since. However, someone else called the next morning from the surgical center to make sure I was feeling okay.
I’ve never had any type of procedure, large or small, where the doctor didn’t bother to speak with me either before or after (even when I had my appendix out unexpectedly, the doctors took 15 – 20 minutes to speak to me before surgery — and emergency surgeons are some of the busiest doctors out there).
With that said, the discomfort I experienced following the procedure was minimal, so I can appreciate that he did a good job. I felt a bit like I’d been overzealous with crunches or something — sore, but not really in pain. I was able to go to lunch immediately after.
Overall, great facility, great staff.

My sister Jessica S. referred us to Dr Tourgeman and HRC Fertility. It was the best decision we have ever made! Dr T, Jennie the coordinator and the whole staff are wonderful. I wished all medical offices operates like they do. I’ve never had to wait long in the waiting room. The front desk girls are always friendly. The lab techs are always gentle. Jennie always responds to my inquiries in a timely manner. Dr T is so compassionate and wants success in all of his patients. I feel he is very aggressive with treatment. We had a total of 2 fresh and 2 frozen cycles before it worked. Each time we did a cycle he would change up protocol. Without Dr T, we wouldn’t have been able to get pregnant and waiting on our little miracle to arrive this June. Like previous Unilocalers, I wished he could deliver our baby as well. Don’t hesitate. Go to the free consultation and get more info. Infertility is a heart breaking issue but trust in Dr T, he only wants you to achieve your goal.

I wish I could give this facility more than 5 stars as it truly is exceptional. I am going in for my second round of egg retrieval (for egg freezing) and I can honestly say that I have no worries in the world. The entire first process was so incredibly comforting and supportive that I never once felt that I was just another patient. Dr. Peck is honest, extremely informative and remains professional whilst being personal and kind. The IVF Coordinator Jennie is a rock star, she was available to me at all hours of the day including weekends, and calmed me down after a minor melt down on the first night of injections when I got a bit confused. Once I got the hang of it the injections are simple, with a video link and paper instructions you will feel calmer as you will have visual guidance, because no matter how cool you might think you are, when you are looking at a bunch of foreign items and needles it can get a bit overwhelming. For the second round I have taken injections/​medicine with me and injected myself away from home without any problems. Parking at this facility has never been an issue as there is ample street parking, and the operation takes place on the first floor so its all on familiar grounds. I had a very bad anesthesia experience as a child so the egg retrieval operation made me nervous, but the nurses and Dr. Peck where so calming and soothing that I soon forget my fears and fully entrusted myself in their very capable and skilled hands.
From billing, to the nurses to Dr. Peck to Jennie everyone I dealt with at this facility was (and is) stellar, and I am very confused by any of the negative reviews as I truly (and I am a very honest person) have no complaints. If you are considering getting your eggs frozen DON’T WAIT! I wish I had done this a year sooner. And if you are unsure of your ability to produce healthy eggs or eggs at all, go and see Dr. Peck for a consultation. They will do an ultrasound, take your blood, run some tests and then go over the results with you. This is not a facility that is trying to make money off of you, I can say that with confidence as Dr. Peck will give you the facts as best as they are available without any hidden agenda or motive.

In short — Dr. Boostanfar made our dreams come true. After trying to have a child for three years, we went to HRC Encino and were able to get pregnant on our first IVF cycle with him, and had our daughter who is the light of our lives, in April 2014. Words can not express how grateful we are to him and his staff.
A couple things to note — the fees are extremely reasonable compared to other local facilities. The office is top-​notch, state of the art, comfortable, I could go on. The nurses are amazing and extremely available, by phone and email. The office and billing staff are extremely friendly and easy to work with. Overall — I had a wonderful experience and they are taking good care of our frozen embryos until we are ready for baby No. 2.

There are not enough words to describe my love and gratitude to all the staff at HRC fertility Encino. After an almost 4 year struggle with «unexplained infertility», I was referred by my OB to HRC fertility and Dr. B. The facility is modern, clean, very accessible and organized. The staff become your family. Everyone from the front office staff, financial, nursing, laboratory, phlebotomy, and Dr’s are so attentive and caring. When things don’t go your way, they feel and live your sadness but also motivate you to keep going and stay positive that when it does happen, your dreams of becoming a parent come true, they truly rejoice with you.
Here is my story, I have a 9 year old daughter and my husband and I wanted one more little miracle. We didn’t anticipate that after getting pregnant so quickly on our own with our daughter that we were going to have a hard time this time around, but we did. I tried everything; acupuncture, herbs, teas, pills, hormones, meditation, yoga and even leaches, yes those blood sucking worm. But nothing helped. My OB recommended that we see Dr. B at HRC fertility and so we did. From the first meeting, we knew that they were going to do everything possible to help us become parents and give our daughter a sibling she so desperately wishes for. After the first unsuccessful IUI attempt we were devastated but stayed positive. Thankfully the second IUI attempt was successful and we now have a healthy and happy 6 month old baby boy.
Never in a million years did I think that at 31 to be giving myself shots and going through this. But you know what… it’s okay, and it’s not that I was less of a woman or non deserving. As many of us infertile women think we are. It’s a journey my family and I had to take. I just wish I would have gone to HRC Fertility sooner. I love you guys at HRC and thank you for your unconditional love, support, attention and care. You are truly the greatest gifts. And you made me a mommy once again, to the best greatest gift on earth. if you are doubting going to HRC, don’t!!! You have so much to look forward to with these wonderful people who love what they do. It’s obvious from the moment you enter this facility.

I went to Dr. Boostanfar after having a negative experience with another doctor. I was frustrated and heartbroken from 3 years of fertility issues and multiple pregnancy losses. I can’t say enough about Dr. Boostanfar and his staff. I had such a positive evaluation and treatment experience and now I have a healthy baby to show for it. He is warm and compassionate but he is also a brilliant doctor and a true professional. I have recommended him to friends and family members without reservation.

After trying to conceive for 11 years and having one failed IVF, Dr Tourgeman and his wonderful staff helped us get pregnant and on 12÷2÷15 we had our health baby girl. With the help of Dr Tourgeman our dreams came true and I would recommend the Encino office namely. Dr. Tourgeman to anyone who wants their dreams to come true as well. They are very understanding, very professional and very thorough. I will go back to Dr Tourgeman in the near future to try to have more babies. Please stay away from the Pasadena location. I had a terrible experience there with my first IVF.

My husband and I was referred here by our doctor office. The service was horrible we had an appointment, waited 30 minutes in the waiting room and there was no active in the office. A white enter the office 10 mins. After we got there and they call him back. He was sen and left before we was called back. I actually believe the receptionist was racist. I don’t recommend black family’s to attend this doctors office they obviously treat and see the white patient before the black patients! It’s terrible that we still see this this day and time to 2015!

I started with Dr. Boostenfar at age 46 getting pregnant wasn’t really my issue, it was keeping the pregnancy going. At this stage I was pretty much out of the having babies window plus being single things didn’t look good for my prognosis, until I met Dr. B he changed my luck and my life. I had 2 miscarriages so Dr B. Used his expertise and figured out why I was miscarrying, which most people aren’t lucky enough to ever figure out. I had a successful pregnancy at 49 years old. The staff especially my nurse Wendy were so helpful and kind every time I would run into a challenge, they were empathetic and on the case! I feel so lucky to have met Dr. b. He is the the best! I would recommend HRC especially Dr. Boostenfar if you are considering going down the fertility path. My OB at Kaiser who happened to know Dr. B said Dr. B could get a man pregnant (to re assure me after my miscarriage) and I believe her

Five stars is not a high enough rating. We were referred to Dr. Feinman in 2006 by a friend who’d had a son via IVF with him. At that point I was 36 and had been trying diligently to get pregnant for a year with no luck. Upon our first meeting I discovered that HRC was involved in a study that covered almost all costs, so I was quickly enrolled. I was an extremely low egg producer, but they were able to successfully produce two viable embryos and I became pregnant with a singleton, my son was born in December 2007. In 2010 we decided to try one more time, this time on our dime. We told Dr. Feinman that we would only try once, and we’d be content even if we were not successful as we already had one miracle at home. They hit it out of the park again using ICSI to ensure our best possible chances of viable embryos. In October of 2010 we had a baby girl. I can’t ever fully express my gratitude to Dr. Feinman and his entire staff for helping me to achieve my dream of becoming a mom. Dr. Feinman provided a perfect balance of information, advice, caring and humor to help us feel confident and hopeful throughout all our various procedures. His staff was skillful and sensitive. It is without any hesitation that I highly recommend Dr. Feinman to any woman struggling with infertility.

Going through fertility is a tough experience. It is a strain on one’s marriage. it is tough financially and is incredibly emotional. I knew that I wanted someone who was going to be available to me whenever things got rough and treated me like a person rather than a patient. in Dr. Peck, I found exactly that. My best example of this is after my first IUI (which worked, but I ultimately miscarried). I was in Hawaii with my family and I went to get a scan because things hadn’t been looking good prior to my departure. It was the day after Christmas. The clinic in Hawaii sent my scans to Dr Peck who called me from Mexico (on her vacation) to discuss the results with me. She spent an hour on the phone with me although she was with her family on vacation! She called to check in almost every day until I got back to LA.
Although I ultimately miscarried that baby, I am now the mother of two gorgeous twins thanks to a successful IVF round with HRC and Dr. Peck. IVF worked for me after my first round and I couldn’t be more grateful. I often go back and visit the office because I feel so close to all those who work there.
A word of advice… it is about more than your doctor. Dr. Peck is amazing and she is why I chose HRC. But I am such a massive fan of the nurses and front desk staff at HRC. They emailed me constantly, called me, texted me to make sure everything was ok. I feel incredibly close to the nursing staff at HRC and think that their support was crucial to a successful IVF round. When I did miscarry, they were there for me and supported me every step of the way. When I had questions about how to do the shots, they made me videos and wrote up detailed directions. They are incredibly knowledgable and professional. And more than that, they were kind and generous.
I have two beautiful babies thanks to Dr Peck and the staff at HRC. I couldn’t be more grateful. This was not an easy experience, but HRC made it all okay.

I cannot say enough great things about HRC Fertility, especially Dr. Tourgeman. From the get go, he listened to our concerns, did all of the diagnostic testing before proceeding with the best fertility treatment for us, and has been incredible through out my entire IVF process. I got pregnant on my first IVF cycle, with only 3 fertilized eggs, of which only one took, but am now blessed with the most beautiful and healthy baby girl! I have also referred 3 of my girlfriends to Dr. T whom they also love. I would strongly recommend this facility if you are choosing between providers. You will be so glad you did!

My husband and I started going to Dr. Peck in last year and got pregnant in April through our first round of IVF. Trust me, this is a miracle as I just turned 43. I highly recommend both HRC and Dr. Peck — the experience was always a positive one, even as we struggled with what path to take, we were hesitant to do IVF. The entire staff was always courteous, friendly and professional and I never had any problems with billing, everything was always smooth. Dr. Peck is respectful, thorough and completely top-​notch. Best of luck to everyone!

Absolutely horrible experience. They made me feel like I’m a sleezy guy at a strip club. I will never go back here.

I went to one of HRC Encino’s free informational seminars which was led by Dr. Feinman, and I appreciated the volume of information shared as well as the invitation to return for a free one-​on-​one consultation with him the following week.
During the one-​on-​one, Dr. Feinman was honest and open and addressed my concerns and questions. He suggested that I go the IUI route, and I asked his coordinator Laurie about getting the required blood panel done by my PCP with a small co-​pay rather than pay full price at HRC. Laurie easily facilitated my doing so, which I really appreciated. I then scheduled an HSG, & though the procedure was a bit nervewracking & very uncomfortable for about 20 seconds, Dr. Feinman and his 2 nurses were wonderful and supportive and talked me through it, explaining everything that was happening at every moment.
The following week, Maricela, another one of Dr. Feinman’s coordinators, took the time over the phone to break down every single cost and timing of events with me, as these were all exceedingly important to me as I was considering doing this alone as a single woman.
Ultimately I decided that for me, the chance of successfully conceiving was too low and the cost was too high. If money was not a consideration for me, or I had a partner helping me, or there was a very high chance of my successfully conceiving and not miscarrying, I absolutely would’ve moved ahead with HRC and I know they would’ve been amazing to work with. I’m sad I’ve made the decision to not move forward, but I know it’s the right one for me. And even though I chose not to proceed, I unequivocally recommend Dr. Feinman & his entire team to those who are considering fertility treatment! They are kind, thoughtful, genuine, sensitive, willing to assist you in any way they can with your unique situation, and also have senses of humor. So many thanks! :)

Leticia was a rock and led us through the process, never lost patience with my ten thousand phone calls. Never made us feel like she didn’t have the time to answer any questions we had. She mixed her professionalism with a sense of calm and caring.
Dr. B was a straight shooter and a cheerleader. He can only work with what you give him, but at the same time he’s got the expertise to help us give it the best shot. I’ll never forget calling him the day before our transfer, when we weren’t sure we had the goods, and him talking to me man-​to-​man. Win or lose, he knew what I was going through, he was honest with me, he was realistic and compassionate at the same time.
Nobody wants to end up at a fertility clinic; after we graduated to my wife’s regular OBG/​YN, she said «I never wanted to end up here, but now I’m bit a bit sad to not come here every week.»
We had tried other fertility clinics, and my wife never felt comfortable. We’re due with a baby boy in February, and I just can’t believe it. You spend so much time hoping and praying and upset and depressed that it’s just not working and it will never work.
I implore anyone going through this difficult process to set up a consultation with Dr. Boostanfar. It’s easy for me to say — because it worked, I’m having a son — but I can assure you that had it not, we would have tried again with the same team at HRC.
If you’re struggling with fertility, whether or not you’ve tried other places — you are not just a number at HRC in Encino. You are a patient and they respect what you are going through and they are there to help.

My wife and I went through six years of fertility challenges before getting pregnant and having our first wonderful baby girl. We went through multiple IUI and IVF, we even used HRC in Pasadena (we live in the Pasadena area) before switching to Dr. Boostanfar in HRC Encino.
After our first two IVF (with HRC in Pasadena) we decided to look for someone new.
Dr. Boostanfar was recommended independently by multiple sources and he was in our round of interviews for a new doctor (I believe we interviewed three different ones).
We are very glad we went with Dr. B. Even from our first initial appointment, his energy and enthusiasm and sincerity was a comfort. He was also out-​of-​the-​box in his discussion with us and yet very practical because after each recommendation or discussion point my wife and I would be thinking, «well, yeah I guess that does make sense».
And now we have had a total of three IVFs with Dr B and HRC Encino (after the first two in HRC Pasadena), and we are three for three with Dr. B, expecting our third early 2014. And in Dr. B’s words «So now I’m batting 1,000 with you guys right?»
We consider Dr. B our miracle worker and shudder to think what our lives would be like without him. Thank you Dr. Boostanfar and HRC Encino!

I had an outstanding experience working with Dr Boostanfar at HRC Fertility. I was recommended by several friends from different parts of my life, all of whom got pregnant with HRC. Dr Boostanfar takes on difficult cases and is dedicated 100% to making your dreams come true. He is incredibly attentive, providing individualized care. This was in wild contrast to my experience at two other fertility centers, one in SF and one in LA, where I felt like a cow in a pen with hundreds of others, just a number, cranked through the system, no personal attention to my particular case. Boosty does all his ultrasounds himself, whereas other labs have techs do them and the docs just look at a file.
I am now pregnant with TWINS and over the moon. Dr B is so great, fun, funny, warm, personable, comforting… I seriously cannot recommend him highly enough.
The staff is also great — nurses, techs. The nurses are readily available by email, which is so helpful for your thousands of questions. Most appointments were on time.

Words cannot begin to describe how happy my husband and I have been with HRC Encino & Dr. Boostanfar! We were very confused as to where we should turn when we knew we had to begin fertility treatments. We shopped a lot of doctors & had other personal recommendations that didn’t pan out — Thankfully, we were pointed in the direction of Dr. Boostanfar, and from the second we stepped foot into his office for the first consultation we knew we had found a home.
Dr. Boostanfar is such an incredibly physician. He is direct & to the point, he is incredibly knowledgeable & can answer any question you ask, but he is warm & friendly — He always greeted us with a smile, me with a hug and my husband a handshake. You can tell that he loves what he does, and is invested in your success. There is not one single part of us that ever questioned his judgement, nor his motives (i.e. having you come back & spend more money, etc). For my husband and I, it was also important that we found someone that had a great personality — we enjoy making light-​hearted jokes in this stressful situation, and Dr. B was always a fun sport with us. I never wanted to «graduate» from his care, although so thrilled that we did… I wish Dr. B delivered babies, was a pediatrician, a general practitioner and everything in between so I could only see him!
The HRC staff is also so incredible! Everyone there cares about you. They greet you with a smile, call you by name, follow up and answer emails in a very timely manner, and more importantly — They really treat you like you are part of their family. They are upset when they have to tell you bad news, and so thrilled when they get to share your success. I looked forward to seeing my girls at every appointment — Jennie & Shanise — And even the super lovely Ivy who has the horrible job of taking your money, yet always asked how the appointment went to make the financial burden feel a little softer. :)
As far as our story — We had one failed round of IVF, and our 2^nd round was a success! After our 1^st failed attempt, there was no one that we wanted to turn back to besides Dr. Boostanfar — We trusted him at every turn, no matter what the outcome. And he made our 2^nd try worth while — He was proactive in making sure he changed medication and took different steps in hopes of my body reacting differently, and he was right! I have so much compassion for other women suffering from infertility — It is a horrible position to be in, and the process can be so hard on your body and a roller coaster of emotions — but in a crappy situation we found a family that loved & supported us in HRC, and because of them it has been one of the best experiences of our lives.
I would recommend them to anyone & everyone, I am their cheerleader!!!
