Dr. Abrams is intelligent and professional. Not sure what all these negative reviews are about. He sat with me and explained exactly what was going on, he even drew a picture. He was very patient and answered all my questions. The front office staff, X-​ray techs, and physical therapists are also very nice. Dr. Abrams has been practicing for decades. He’s super knowledgeable and has surrounded himself with great office staff. Highly recommend him.

This is my first time in Unilocal and my first review and it is a pleasure to do it about Dr. Abrams and office staff. I went for my left knee and let me tell you Dr. Abrams is awesome, super smart and actually a really social and funny doctor, which is hard to see in doctors nowadays. The office can be busy (well its a specialist doctor), but they can handle it very well, the front office ladies were nice and greeted me like if I were an old patient (if they knew me for a long time). The xrays tech are awesome. Overall a great experience.

Dr. Shirzad took good care of me and quickly identified my issue. The staff answered my insurance questions and the physical therapy they provide was great, too. My PT was Amir.

Very bad.
Even I had an appointment I had to wait for 2 hours.
And even I told the dr that I got an x-​Ray one week before going there, he sent me to take another one in his office and after taking them, I noticed they were exactly the same one that I had.
They don’t care about people health and only wants to make money.
So I had to pay twice for x-​Ray during one week also I received a lot of radiation because of 3 x-​Ray which is not good for people’s health at all.

Such a nice medical office. It can get busy, but they handle it pretty well. Dr. Abrams is such a good doctor, he is nice and really smart. And ohh that view they have of the whole valley is amazing.

I want to start with the fact that I did contact this physicians office about this issue but never heard back from them before I decided to post this. What occurred began when I sent a beautiful basket of expensive cupcakes from a bakery to a professional office in the same building that Dr. Shirzad is in, which is in Encino. The delivery man, acidently went to the wrong suite. The beautiful & expensive cupcakes were clearly marked to another company and the girls at the reception desk who accepted them, according to the driver, joked that they did not belong to anyone in their office, but that they were going to keep them because they looked so delicious. Perhaps the driver thought the girls were joking and that they would take a flight of stairs and bring them to the correct office of the person they belonged to. Wouldn’t you do that for someone in the same building? Wouldn’t you want someone to do that for you if a package was misdelivered? Instead they kept them. That is paramount to stealing. It the business in the physicians office so horrible that their employees don’t get paid enough that have to steal cupcakes? I called the physician’s office and spoke to a very rude employee named YAMI. She didn’t know if I was a patient or why I was calling, but she was hard to understand, had a chip on her shoulder and was RUDE. So I then called the physicians second office in LA and spoke to Norma, who is apparently the office manager. I explained the situation, gave her my name and phone number and never heard from her or the doctor. No call, no apology for his employees actions, and no offer to reimburse me for the stolen cupcakes, which were not cheap. These people have NO CLASS. If you can’t trust them with cupcakes and a simple ethical decisions like getting them to the right person or fessing up that they don’t belong to you, then how could you ever trust them with things like your credit card for payments for health care, for access to your health insurance information, for access to confidential HIPPA information, for life decision on your body/​knees/​spine, or how about your medication? The mind reels at what kind of people do things like steal cupcakes when I presented them the opportunity to make amends. The community places trust in the medical profession and their actions speak volumes. I am not sure why the Encino Hospital Medical Center would employ a physician or their staff with these ethics, but I am sure they will figure out that if they steal my cupcakes and don’t fess up, then there ethical decision making ability is flawed. How could a patient trust them?

I fractured my right wrist in a sporting accident, and Dr. Abrams was able to see me right away, which was great. After x-​rays he did a closed reduction, cast it and sent me out for a CAT scan.
Dr. Abrams did the best he could, and offered me no promises. Dr. Abrams told me that wrists are tricky. I asked him if perhaps I should get a second opinion and he said this is always i good idea. I did not but I should have. I am a pianist, and the wrist did not heal properly, the radius now being short enough to require surgery.
He should not have simply said getting a second opinion was a good idea. That’s not enough. He should have insisted I see someone else. My primary care physician even suggested I sue for malpractice. I won’t. But lesson learned; always carefully check a doctor’s background and always get a second opinion.
Now, eight months later, I am having surgery by someone who does primarily hands. Dr. Abrams is an OK doctor and a very nice man, but I believe that if you use your hands for very delicate work, you should take a wrist or hand injury to someone who specializes in these things.
What bothers me the most about my experience is that Dr. Abrams bills himself as a specialist in hand surgery. He is not. According to Healthgrades, he is NOT board certified in hand surgery. I saw 8 hand surgeons before choosing someone to finally correct my wrist, and every single one of them said they would have operated on my hand right away, and asked me why it was not properly fixed to begin with. I wish Dr. Abrams had either insisted on surgery or simply told me he was not qualified to perform this surgery.

Very professional and diligent in his work

After seeing the last bad review I had to write. I injuried myself one year ago and Dr Abrams was my workers comp doc. He was nothing but professional and took great care of me in my surgery and recovery. After 6 months of treatment I was in great shape but then I was re injuried by a ravens fan who jumped up and landed on my surgery scar. Needless to say I have had to revisit Dr Abrams a lot to help this heal. I like all the staff and have nothing to complain about. Granted sometimes there is a wait but emergencies come up with all doctors. I have recommended him to my friends and even my husband who hates doctors was very pleased after seeing Dr Abrams. I highly recommend him!

Yes, I’m giving him two stars. The reason he’s even getting the second star is because the guy that takes x-​rays is cool and friendly. The rest of the staff sucks! Erite should be fired… but I’ll get to her in a moment.
First of all I had made an emergency appointment and was in severe pain when I got to his office. They made me wait about 45 minutes past my appointment time before making me wait in another room for another 20 minutes before the doctor came in. He came and took a look and was not gentle at all (especially for someone that’s in pain). His attitude wasn’t great and he definitely could work on his bedside manner.
Then I had to deal with the rudest person that wouldn’t let me get two words in before talking over me… yes her name is Erite. I don’t know where he found this one, but he needs to let her go… immediately.
I didn’t especially like Shirzad Abrams, but I would have possibly considered going back just because he had a file on me already, but after dealing with Erite and the rest of the staff (minus the x-​ray guy), there is no way I am ever stepping foot in that guy’s office again.
