Today was my initial visit. I cannot say enough how stoked and thankful I am to have finally found a really good chiropractor. Dr. Vahl really takes his time, asks a lot of questions, and listens well. His technique for adjusting is very smooth and effective. His office environment is welcoming and professional and RELAXING as a chiro’s office should be. Wellness is what we seek after all, isn’t it?
If you have been looking and been disappointed, seriously look no further. You won’t regret it. I was led to him by previous good reviews, and they told the truth. After my first visit, I am feeling better than I have in 3 months. Healing the body takes time, but I finally feel I am off to a solid start.

Great place to get cracked. Going to Dr. Vahl, I call it Vahl day! Great person and customer service. He is not your small time adjuster. He earned his title of chiropractor !! He knows his stuff ! And listens to his patients ! There is no one more caring and professional then him. He is worth the money and then some. In my profession their is a tow truck driver and a tow truck operator ! He is defiantly a tow truck operator because he holds that professionalism and know how !

I purchased a Living Social deal for a Chiropractic-​care package for a free exam, x-​rays, and two adjustments. I had never been to the Chiropractor and was excited about getting the opportunity to try it at such a good price. I was really happy with both of my visits with Dr. Vahl. The office staff is very nice, and Dr. Vahl is very personable, and did a great job explaining what he was doing. The two weeks prior to my adjustments, I had a very sharp pain in my back, and after my first adjustment, it has been immensely better. Dr. Vahl even went through the trouble of finding out what my insurance covered for Chiro, and had that information available for me on my second visit. I will certainly be visiting Dr. Vahl’ office for an adjustment on a regular basis.

Jims office was clean and relaxing With good parking. Had a bad shoulder from it being dislocated… After a few sessions my shoulder was feeling less frozen and some Movement returned.
Jim was also kind and caring and professional. I give this place a 5 star

My wife received treatment here for a herniated disc & sciatic nerve pain. Dr Vahl was very professional, courteous, and receptive to all concerns or questions. My wife’s back improved dramatically within 3 or 4 treatments. Her back is now about 100% back to normal with no pain.

I get more than enough injuries from sports, unnecessary but fun activities like parkour, and simply carelessness.
When I twisted/​stretched my wrist, I went to a local chiropractor that all my friends went to when they got injure from school sports. The doc there just gave me pills and quick adjustments that didn’t even clear the pain, but rather made me belch more (lol). We decided it would be better to have my wrist be cured naturally than pay $ 80 per visit… But it or worse.
Unilocaling our way to Dr. Vahl’s office, we found out that my wrist had been sprained. After showing up for multiple weeks, two or three times a week, it healed and I was ready to roll to my next adventurous «funtime»! Dr. Vahl used a cream that has pepper or something in it to spread across your arm, stretch out and adjust your joints etc. It leaves a cool feeling on the skin. He also adjusted my clogged up joints in my neck, back and limbs. According to him, I have a more flexible body/​joints than others. I like to crack my hands, foot, neck ad back ALL the time… He mentioned that if I keep doing that, I’ll get arthritis when I’m old. Thanks for the tip, doc. (I’m scared of becoming old now.)
Fate has been cruel to me, and my best attempts (or lack thereof) to avoid injuries has sent me back into Dr. Vahl’s office in the past two years. I slipped, fell, and got a pinched nerve that prevented me from walking. I went to his office every single day and got it healed by his amazing chiropractic skills. I also hit my heel too hard and bruised the bone inside. Oh, did I mention I also bent my thumb in too much that I ripped some ligaments? All these injuries were cured by Dr. Vahl. Thanks to him (and my buddy, ice packs), I have been able to recover from my injuries completely.
Ronna, Sam and Adrian (?) have been very nice and flexible with my ever-​changing schedules. I bet they’re kind of fed up with my lack of time management. If you’re reading this, sorry! I’ll try not to do it again…
Overall, I recommend going to this chiropractic because of its knowledgable doctor Dr. Vahl, flexible schedule and cost effectiveness.

This place is great. Jim Vahl is very knowledgeable and did a great job with my lower back after suffering a debilitating sports injury. Jim recommended doing some additional stretching and exercises at home and in a couple of months, I was pain free again. Awesome!

I’ve had a tweaked neck and it got really aggravated recently with some pain traveling down my arm.
Walking into the office, it was nice and clean and very orderly.
Jim did a quick x-​ray on my neck and quickly identified the areas of interest with my back and my neck. Aside from a dentist, I have never seen the results of an x-​ray completed so quickly and efficiently before as I would always have to wait a week for results due to the doctor sending it to a specialized center to process the results.
He then went into his adjustments. Now, I’d hear stories from my dad all the time about how horrible they were. However, none of them held true. I didn’t feel stiffer or more sore compared to before my appt. and the adjustments always left me feeling much better.
Jim did a great job with my neck and got me back on my feet again. I believe he takes great care of his patients and I’d recommend him to anybody out there.

If you need someone to fixya up! Dr. Vahl’s is the place to go!

I’ve had a bad back from a car accident long ago, after months of therapy, I don’t think I ever healed from it. After a few months I couldn’t take it anymore! I decided to check out this wellness center after the high reviews on Unilocal.Dr. Vahl was a God-​send. He was knowledgable, professional, and was able to help me finally feel normal again!
Cost:
It’s nice to find a place that is reasonably priced for such great service. You really can’t put a price on your health. But this wellness center is worth it!
Overall:
Highly recommend! You can’t find chiropractors these days who really care and take their time treating their patients right.

Haven’t been to a chiropractor in years after my company stopped paying for one. Wife nagged me to go get my lower back taken care of since I was having problem standing or sitting for long without it becoming painful.
My friend referred me to Dr. Vahl. Said his rates are very reasonable even without insurance. First day, Dr. Vahl identified an even bigger problem other than my lower back. He took a few x-​rays and identified some degeneration going on with my neck and correctly diagnosed the numbness and tingling in my arms without me mentioning it. This is a doctor who knows the human body and knows what he is doing.
He was very patient explaining the issues and procedures as well as the timeline of progression for the disease as well as treatment and expected results. He also instructed me on the home-​care aspects of treatment. Instead of pushing to sell me medical devices, he also gave me some money-​saving tips on how to fashion these devices at home for home-​treatment.
Out of pocket rate was indeed very reasonable. Surprisingly affordable even without insurance.
It has been a few months now since my first treatment and I have been going pretty regularly. The results on the back has been excellent and the tingling on the arms are progressing very well also. Everything is on track exactly as Dr. Vahl had described, all without medication or invasive procedures.
This man is a true professional and an expert in the field. I only wished that I had found him sooner and begin my treatments earlier.

Dr. Vahl is a great Chiropractor. I have had chronic headaches and he has helped them tremendously. What I like best is that he gets an understanding of what’s going on and gets down to business. He has been able to adjust my neck every time I see him when other chiros have taken 3 or 4 appts. to get movement.
He has over the period of a couple weeks reduced my headaches from a point that literally had me in tears at times to a manageable level and I can see an end in sight. Highly recommend him!

Vahl Chiropractic is a true asset to the medical community of San Diego. I say this as a medical professional myself who understands the musculoskeletal system (I’m an orthopaedic surgeon) and as an athlete who has received treatment from Dr. Vahl numerous times, all with excellent results.
I think that it’s important to understand that there are so many quack chiropractors in southern California. It is often so difficult to find one who actually cares about the patient and who offers competent care. In my own orthopaedic surgery practice, I am acutely aware of this — as oftentimes I have patients coming to me complaining being gouged by the high prices for the «treatments» of many of these chiropractors, which often leave the patient feeling worse than when they presented for treatment!
I can say without a doubt that Dr. Vahl is competent, compassionate, and incredibly professional. He is the ONLY chiropractor in southern California I would recommend family, friends, and patients to. He offers an extensive number of treatment modalities, has his own in-​house radiology capabilities so that he can diagnose conditions during the same patient visit, and offers excellent explanations of his chiropractic techniques. I appreciated the time he took to answer my questions and go over diagnosis/​treatment plans with me, as well as his friendly and professional manner in treating patients. His staff were also very professional and kind. He is excellent at helping the patient to relax and does a great job in applying his techniques.
I have also observed him work with athletes in the martial arts community of San Diego. He does an excellent job with rehabilitating athletes with a variety of injuries, allowing them to return quickly and safely to sport at competition intensity. Such results are difficult to find with other chiropractic practices here in San Diego.

Vahl chiropractic wellness center is the greatest thing that’s ever happened to me! I have been to numerous chiropractors over the years and he has been the only one who has been able to significantly improve my physical life. I was able to literally watch my spine and my cervical spine improve over the course of my treatments. Being a young active man with spinal and nervous system problems was dreadful, but he has changed my life. My mother and fiancé and many other friends are patients of his as well. The whole office truly cares about your health and well being. Recommend to everyone!

I love Vahl Chiropractic! I started going there for Zerona treatments. I was not sure about it but it worked. My body changed for the better and I got into some healthy habits. Dr. Vahl was great. I always felt like he listened to me and answered my questions in a way that made sense to me. The support staff inhis office is wonderful, especially Ronna. She was so easy to work with. Ronna always made sure Iwas schedueled properly and she was great at getting me the best value for my buck. I’ve had numerous sports related injuries which have been holding me back for some time now. Dr. Vahl has patiently helped me get back to where I want to be. He is very knowledgeable and reasonable. The staff is excellent.
I went in with very unrealistic expectations, I was just hoping for a quick fix. He took the time to explain the treatments to me, something that most chiropractors don’t seem to have time to do. Dr. Vahl listens carefully, explained the x-​rays and & how the irregularities were contributing to my symptoms. He recommended certain exercises and nutritional support for enhancing adjustments and restoring health. His office staff is friendly.
Massage therapy is availble on site. His office is near the Ecke YMCA, I can exercise before or after treatment; convenient and helps me meet my health goals.

Dr Vahl was so nice and got me in with my short notice (I told him my back is KILLING me)! My lower back pain has been going on for almost a month, and I finally decided to see doctor. And what a WISE decision to come to the Vahl’s!!! Great staff and service, easy to find office, relax environment. Dr Vahl was patient, listened to my concerns and back pain complains. With his adjustment right then, I actually able to finally spend sometime walking around in my favorite shop today! I am going back next week and looking forward to my pain free days. Dr. Vahl has got to be one of the best Chiropractors around. I used to go to him in La Jolla, and now that he is even further from me in Encinitas, I still make that drive up there because it is worth it. He definitely has a great background not only in the Chiro-​field, but specifically in sports medicine as well. excellent, excellent, excellent!
He even has a x-​ray machine there also to help YOUR treatments and customize them to you as needed.
I’ve never been impressed with Chiropractors in the past, but Dr Vahl does change that impression!
He also gives sports medicine advise as well to help your soft tissue so you can feel better, so not only does he make sure you’re aligned, after that, he makes sure your muscles are doing well as well since they have likely been strained with being misaligned. Usually he even will give you tips you can do at home to rehab you if necessary!

Have had «pins and needles» in left side of body for two years, mostly abated by Dr. Vahl’s adjustment. He is attentive, listens to my explanation of problem areas, and offers sound advice and pain relief with a pleasant sense of humor. I have referred my wife to him for treatment as well. He has been helpful in mitigating some serious pain. When I miss an appointment for a week or two, the pain returns, and I really suffer. Dr. Vahl’s care has been extremely important to my quality of life.

Dr. Vahl continues to provide excellent quality care, and my back problems have been managed quite well to the point of providing significant pain reduction. Dr. Vahl continues to amuse with his sense of humor and provides important information on the latest chiropractic methodology.
