Much of our staff have been at San Diego Marble & Tile (previously known as Encinitas Tile) for many years. Some of our employees previously even owned their own businesses in the field, adding personal experience and value to what we offer. History

Established in 1990.

San Diego Marble & Tile (previously known as Encinitas Tile) has been operating as an independent and trusted tile & natural stone retailer within the San Diego County area for more than 25 years. We proudly retain our family friendly, coastal charm with the added reliability and professionalism of our parent company — San Diego Marble & Tile. We are one of three showrooms in the county, bringing you an extensive selection and excellent customer service.

No need to look any further. These guys are the best. After shopping around for a few weeks San Diego Marble & Tile had the best pricing and by far — best service. Donna in Sales and Jesse in the Warehouse were exceptional. We’ll be back!

Everyone here is really helpful, patient and friendly, which comes in handy when you’re a tad overwhelmed when picking out tile. For a small location, they have an amazing selection. My husband and I had gone to a couple warehouse sized showrooms that had maybe a handful of options, which was disappointing. When we came to SD Tile, we were pleasantly surprised and quite blown away by the selection. Tika was incredibly helpful in showing us several different options for our bathroom remodel. We were able to pick out all the time we needed in one visit, which is unheard of given my tad indecisiveness. Not only was Tika extremely knowledgeable, but she was so sweet and so friendly, she put us at ease and helped us make a decision quickly! They also worked with our contractor quite seamlessly to order our tile, and I’m so excited to see the final result. We’ll definitely come back when it’s time to remodel the rest of the house.

Must say, I did not care for the service in any way. They were late with my appt and over a week late in getting my shipment. It’s customer service that makes or breaks a company for me, and this one didn’t make it by a long shot.

I had a wonderful experience w/​everyone at San Diego Marble & Tile. They matched prices w/​another company that wasn’t very close to my house & helped me thru all stages of my bathroom remodel. Carla was my «go to» for all the questions & extra tile that I ended up needing at the last minute. Helped me thru it all! I won’t even check out other stores next tile I need tile. I’ll head to San Diego Marble & Tile!

They are in the business of customer service! I am new to remodeling and they saved me from myself. They will provide as much help, guidance or support as you want or need. I cancelled the rest of my materials from other stores, and bought everything from them. Donna and Theresa are fabulous.
They also have the largest variety and selection of materials. Their competitors pale in comparision

Grrr. Different name but it is the S A M E place. You go in there and if you are not submissive and accepting of their suggestions or if you want something they don’t have you get attitude plus. Their new products look is primarily contemporary so that’s what they push you toward. These people are, and always have been a pain in the keester. I have bought tile from them in the past, as Encinitas Tile, and had no end of problems. Now they have a new name and Amazon Stone (good on Miramar Rd.) has an adjoining slab yard where Encinitas used to. Does not matter to me. It is the same attitude and catty remarks that irk me. I always leave saying I will never go back. A few years go by and I try again. This time I will never go back. Oh and btw their prices are sky high. You can go to their suppliers in LA and Anaheim and get much better deals and better selection. Just drive a little farther up the freeway…

Two years ago my husband and I started a major remodel. I wandered into San Diego Marble and Tile (Encinitas) to just look around. I was immediately greeted by a warm, kind, smart lady named Donna Peterson. She spent a great deal of time explaining everything about tile to me. We reviewed various combinations of tile that I liked and she provide me with a broad knowledge of the best types of tile and stone for our needs. Donna was instrumental in helping me pull my thoughts and ideas together. Once we were ready to order the tile Donna created a beautiful detailed design. She visited us several times at the job site and made very helpful suggestions when we ran into unforeseen problems. This was a huge investment for my family. Donna helped us save money wherever we could and even took me to the slab yard to look at countertop options. Since then, we have done other projects with Donna including a fireplace, feature wall with a very exotic stone and «metal» tile around the fire box and at the crown. I really could not have done such a great job without Donna’s expertise. She made it fun and quite an adventure. I highly recommend Donna and San Diego Marble and Tile. The store has an amazing selection of tile products. Now, that I have my own cabinet & design business I go straight to Donna when I need tile for my clients. She’s literally the best and so is the management (Grant Goodman). I highly recommend SDM & T.

I recently purchased tile for a bathroom remodel. I went to Encinitas Tile because of their great selection of unique, high end tiles. I loved most of my purchases, but one item was not to my satisfaction. Even though the tile was already installed and there are «no refunds» on purchased tile, the owner, Grant, called me directly, really cared about my issues, and worked with me. This is a review for both the Encinitas location and my rep., Donna Peterson. For more than 10 years San Diego Marble and Tile, the Encinitas location (formerly Encinitas Tile) has been my «go to» stop for my tile project needs. As an interior designer I expect prompt and courteous service and a wide selection of exciting product that is readily available. In every instance this is always the case.
Over the years Donna has been my advocate and that of my clients. In a rep I could not ask for more. The new owner/​management at San Diego Marble and Tile have proven in just a very short time since their ownership that they plan to continue to nurture the relationship that I had previously developed.

I went in looking for a simple project, about 2 ft by 5f, and was treated by Grant as if I was buying the entire store. He was courteous, helpful, and it didn’t matter that I wanted a few pieces, he took the time to walk me and show me what was possible. I highly recommend him and when I do go and start my next remodel, I will go to him for the tile I need. Pleasure having a business that cares about people.
