If you would have told me that I would love working out with kettlebells 4 months ago, I would have have told you to have your head examined! In September, I had just adjusted my friend who is a massage therapist. After the treatment she asked me if she could go to her kettlebell class. Me– ” You take kettlebells?“ Her–«yes, I love it, I love Lauren, I feel so strong…» The reason I was so surprised was because my friend doesn’t look like one of the buffed out exercise clad women you see running around trader joes or my kids school. She looked toned, healthy and feminine. I had a big birthday coming up in october(turning 48) and I knew I wanted to bump up my exercise routine. I have a 20 year dance background with a degree in kinesiology and I’ve been a chiropractor for 17 years. I mainly did bar/yoga/pilates classes but I noticed I was always tweaking myself when I went to class. Here’s what you need to understand about Lauren. Her attention to detail is impeccable. She won’t let you do anything you’re not ready for or shouldn’t do based on your body’s movement patterns. I do love working out with kettlebells, but it’s really the combination of Lauren and how she teaches you that makes it fantastic. Lauren insists on each person having an individual session with her before you enter the group class. She understands the body and how it relates to movement and functionality. Lauren is enthusiastic, grounded and smart. You know when you meet her that you’re in excellent hands.(and I am very picky) I haven’t injured myself and am constantly amazed by how much stronger I’m getting. In addition, my posture is improving and booty is lifting back up to 38. My knees feel good, my energy is up and I’m becoming S.L.A.M.(strong like a mother)
