History

Established in 2000.

Founder, Dr. Peter LePort, a surgeon, became interested in education when he realized there was no school that met his standards for his own two children. So he decided to do something about it and started his own school. Dr. LePort began studying the ideas of Dr. Maria Montessori for her unique approach to developing the cognitive and moral needs of the individual child, preparing them to achieve success and happiness in life.

LePort Schools is the culmination of Dr. LePort’s efforts to provide children with a superior education, one in which they develop strong fundamental skills, master challenging content, and learn to think independently. LePort Schools’ dedicated team of administrators, teachers, and educational experts have worked together for over a decade to develop and deliver an exceptional curriculum. Our unique educational approach has earned LePort Schools a reputation as a top Montessori and Private school in Southern California.

Meet the Manager

Susan H.

Manager

Mrs. Hoyer has a Masters Degree in Education, along with over 25 years of experience as a classroom teacher at the elementary, high school and university levels. Her first classroom experience was in a Montessori school, where she taught for three years. Prior to joining LePort, Mrs. Hoyer taught all elementary subjects, high school English, and university students who were finishing their single subject credential coursework. Mrs. Hoyer is also a skilled administrator: she worked as an Office Manager for four years, and as the Director of an afterschool learning center serving students from preschool through college for two years. Mrs. Hoyer is pleased to bring her love for Montessori education and her administrative excellence to LePort Schools’ teachers, students, and families.
