Only great things to say about Know Howe Tile and owner Matt Howe. Professional staff, quality craftsmanship, excellent customer service, competitive pricing are all adjectives that describe my experience. I was looking for a backsplash and a couple shower boxes to improve two bathrooms in my house. I contacted multiple tile contractors in the local San Diego area. Few took the time to come out and give an estimate, in particular, two other contractors didn’t even attempt to work with me or give an estimate on the shower boxes I wanted installed.
Know Howe tile was a complete 180° right from the start. The owner Matt personally came to my house for an estimate. He took the time to explain some of the difficulties and challenges with the envisioned job that I wanted to accomplish. However, he had a great attitude and a «Can do» approach which made it easy to come up with a plan on how to most effectively complete the job. His estimate was very reasonable and ended up being highly accurate once the job was completed.
Matt and his team did a great job being flexible and working around my schedule, since I was doing a lot of traveling at the time of the job. Matt effectively juggled multiple jobs during the week of my install. He provided oversight to his team members at the appropriate integral moments throughout the job, while also depending on their experience and ability to work independently. Matt’s team was super courteous, professional, and were extremely hard workers. Throughout the tile install they had great attention to detail and made sure to include me in any decisions when they had questions.
The tile improvements came out great, and I get compliments all the time. I would definitely use Know Howe Tile again for future projects and I would highly recommend them to any friends or family. Also if required. hablan español.

Okay I HAVE to write another review about Know Howe Tile. First, let me say my floor «squeeks»! Yes, it actually squeeks because it’s soooooo clean! My entire downstairs is almost completely travertine and Matt and his crew came in an cleaned the floor. I have to say it was waaaay over due (like I should have done this 2 years ago!) but I didn’t realize how dirty it had become. The travertine I have is a multicolored brown and tan so it hids dirt very well. But now it looks tan… not brown! and it actually squeeks when I walk on it in my tennis shoes! I don’t ever remember it squeeking before. It looks amazing and I’m so glad I had Matt come over and clean it. I promise I won’t let 5 years go by again! Thanks Matt

Matt came and replaced my fiberglass shower unit with porcelain tile and redid the flooring. They did a beautiful job! The result is gorgeous and the cost was so reasonable. They cleaned up everything too.

Matt has done tile work for us and his work is 5 stars.
