Going to the dentist is very anxiety provoking and Dr. Kim has a very calm and gentle approach which makes me feel comfortable and at ease. I have been under Dr. Kim’s care for the last two years due to a very complicated dental course. She is a very experienced prosthodontist and is able to think out of the box with all my dental challenges. She is very patient, kind and very dedicated to her patients. When I have had urgent matters she will always fit me into her schedule the same day and has seen me over the weekend when I had a emergency. Dr. Kim’s dental assistant Teresa is excellent. The office staff is very friendly and helpful.

The dental care can be anxiety provoking as I know it has been, however she completely dispelled the anxiety, in fact she made it a pleasant experience .

I have been extremely impressed and happy with Dr. Kim. I was having bad headaches and she helped me to figure out the problem. She did a thorough examination of my bite and explained to me exactly what was wrong and how to correct it. I have followed her advice and everything is working out perfectly. She is very caring and takes the time to listen and to make you feel comfortable. She is also an extremely intelligent, educated and experienced dentist and really knows her craft. So knowing that your dentist is so well qualified also really helps you to feel more comfortable in the dental chair. I am extremely glad that I found Dr. Kim and highly recommend her as a wonderfully caring and very qualified dentist.

This long overdue review was put off primarily due to the repercussions suffered from the incompetent care received by Dr. Jiyoung (Jean) Kim. Dental care plays an enormous part of our overall well-​being, and this reality came forth after several years of profoundly negligent care.
A black shadow on a tooth for over two years was dismissed by Dr. Kim as «not a problem». Progressive and increasing flu-​like symptoms over this two-​year period ensued, which were very scary because I was a very healthy and active individual all of my life. Upon this tooth finally erupting with a painful abscess, Dr. Kim once again dismissed it has «grinding of my teeth» and sent me home. Three months later the dental hygienist in her office observed this abscess and told Dr. Kim it needed to be attended to immediately. The same day I was sent to get further x-​rays by an endodontist. Immediate surgery was ordered due to a serious infection.

When the tooth was removed, three quarters of bone around the tooth was gone. Bone had to be grafted from the back of my jaw and three dental implants were put in its place. Overall, the infection had taken a toll in the ‘over’ two-​year period and shortly after surgery, my body collapsed. Overall intense body pain and swelling interrupted and left me in a very weakened state.
I returned to Dr. Kim to help me through the predicament I was now in. She smiled a lot, and nodded her head a good bit as I reviewed where my health was at this point in time. I explained in depth that I held no ill will about her misdiagnosis (grinding my teeth vs. infection), as I realized people make mistakes and I just wanted to go forward. After the meeting she said she would get back to me. Within a week I received a letter from her, stating that she was dropping me as a patient and my case was «too complicated». There are no words can express the devastation of these circumstances in their entirety.
The wealth of social media support through individual reviews plays an integral part for many regarding our challenging health care system. The integrity of the doctor’s care is clearly revealed when ‘out of the box’ challenges present themselves’. It is important that we ‘stay connected’ as a society and continue to share the good experiences and quality care, along with the incompetent experiences and disconnected communication. TOO many have suffered in the vulnerable states of ill health due to ‘misrepresentation and lack of accountability’ in the medical system. With the social media at our disposal, it is a critical component to keep us united as One for the good of humanity. Thank you and much heart…
