I recently purchased an engagement ring for my girlfriend (now fiancé) and needed to get the ring appraised for insurance coverage. I went on my local Unilocal and saw Jewelry Appraisal Professionals and after looking at the reviews gave them a call. I spoke with Marla, who owns the business and found that she was kind and courteous on the phone and explained the process and what items I needed to bring to my appointment.
Upon meeting with Marla I found her to be extremely professional and knowledgeable about jewelry and appraising. She has over 25 years experience and her husband has extensive experience in the industry as well. Marla took the time to explain everything that is taken into consideration in the appraisal process. She was delicate with the ring and even cleaned it for me at the completion of the appraisal. She gave me honest feedback on the ring and really made me feel good about my purchase. She gave me a booklet with all the necessary paperwork for the insurance company as well as for my own records. I found her pricing to be very reasonable and below what other appraisers has quoted me for appointments. I even got her husbands business card as well as he is a wholesale and if he is as honest and straightforward as Marla is when I need to purchase more jewelry I will definitely call them first. Would highly recommend Marla and her services to anyone!

Marla is a very knowledgeable and professional appraiser. She’s also likeable. I had several diamond jewelry appraised by her for either insurance purposes or just to know the value of the piece. I felt that she gave me realistic values for each item. She will not give you inflated appraisals like some jewelry stores do. Inflated appraisals only hurt you if you are planning to insure the piece as you will be paying excessive premiums. She will let you know what your jewelry is actually worth.
I highly recommend her and she is my appraiser of choice.

My experience with Jewelry Appraisal Professionals was very pleasant. I needed to get a ring appraised that was left to me by a family member. My hope was to obtain a «fair market value» appraisal to potentially sell the ring. This was a very emotional decision for me, so I wanted to make sure I was taking all the proper steps in determining the true value of what I had, and ensure that it was sold into the right hands.
