Great Clips

Would give zero stars if I could. I walked in and a girl who was cutting someone’s hair said «hello, I’ll be right with you» then another blood haired girl with greasy hair and no customer service skills comes up and simply asks for my phone number and then ready my sons name «Darren» attempts to read it and then finally says whatever… Apparently that’s a difficult name to read. I give her my daughters name and this will be her first hair cut. She doesn’t smile once, looks like she has been popping pills all day and brings me over to her work station, that is covered in other people hair, barley wipes with her hand some hair off the chairs arm and says «have a seat» it was so filthy. So I left and she gave us a dirty look and I am now at Kids Kuta down the street on El Camino real. Really bummed because I took my son here and loved the girl that did his hair. Now I won’t be back. They should really teach their staff customer service…
No one has contacted me and on top of this I told my friend I just had one bad experience there and she should try this location. She went in and saw the same girl I was talking about and the girl gave her a cut. She came to me and asked if I knew anyone that would fix her hair cut. Her hair was lop sided. I will be going to this location and asking specifically ask for the manager because clearly they do not check their Unilocal and do not care about customer feedback

I’ve been using Great Clips since they’ve opened and have consistently good results. Janice and Kim are great! All the girls are actually. You can’t beat the service, you can book online ahead of time. Minimal wait. Everyone is always friendly and pleasant, and you can’t beat the price! Highly recommended.

I’m very disappointed by the way my son was treated by Tatyana. She was rude and did not really care about his haircut. It was a really bad cut and she left all the little hair cut in his neck without blowing with the hairdryer.
I will never go there again.

I was very pleased with my first visit. Went first thing in morning, got my hair washed ($ 5) and cut ($ 16) by Courtney. Looks good and price is right!

I really like coming to this Great Clips! I moved to Encinitas from Des Moines, IA and one of the biggest things I was concerned about was finding someone to cut my hair! I didn’t want to pay an extraordinary amount of money for a haircut (which I knew was prevalent in California), but I also wanted a cut that was high quality. After visiting and being disappointed with the Supercuts across the way, I stopped in this Great Clips and met Sarah. She’s been cutting my hair for about a year now and I’m really glad I’ve gotten to know her. She does a great job with my pixie cut and makes sure to give me the look that I want every time I come in. I enjoy coming into this Great Clips not just because of the good service and affordability, but because I can have a personal conversation with Sarah every time I get a haircut. It’s like stopping in to see a friend every four to six weeks. I’m glad I found a place that takes care of my hair at a great price!

Low waits, experienced staff! Al la carte pricing makes getting a haircut both efficient and affordable. No chemical services offered, keeping my wait short and best yet– no fumes to breath in!

Today I went to Encinitas Great Clips for the second time. I had been so happy with Kim’s haircut the first time that I went back. For personal reasons, Kim wasn’t there today, so Juanita cut my hair. I just now washed and blow dried my hair. Wow! What an amazing cut! I come from the $ 115 haircut segment (for years), but I have never gotten a better haircut. What’s even better, when she asked me whether I wanted this or that, I told her to do what she thought looked best! Perfect! It looks amazing.

Kept me waiting while stylist (Juanita) did other things; she asked me to wait then asked me to wait again while she cleaned up her station. In the meantime customer came in who supposedly scheduled on line but was not listed on the screen while I was waiting! Of course I was told I would still have to wait another ten minutes while stylist took the other customer. TERRIBLE customer service. No wonder there is such high turnover here. Assistant manager stepped in to diffuse situation when my spouse called them on the fact they kept me waiting when there was clearly no one else scheduled or waiting. Definitely not a good experience and I have been coming here since the place opened. Haven’t had the same person trim my hair more than twice! That says something about how great clips operates and HIGH turnover-​a management problem. If I needed more than a buzz cut, I would definitely go elsewhere. Original stylists were much more attuned to taking care of their customers!

I went to Great Clips, Encinitas and Kim was assigned to cut my hair. I brought in a picture so the stylist had some idea of how much I wanted cut off. I absolutely love the cut and haven’t been this happy in a long time!!!

Just got a great haircut from Sarah. I checked on line and my name was on the screen welcoming me, and putting me to the head of the line. Great haircut and friendly service. I used my gift card and got a $ 9.99 haircut.

This is my first review ever on Unilocal,I never felt the need to write a review until today. It sucks that it has to be a negative one. I have no clue how this place has 4 stars. I have gone here three times, the last two times I have given them the benefit of the doubt and they have failed miserably. Every time I have went their I asked for a medium fade… but for some reason that means going up to the medium without the fade, oh and it’s ALWAYS un-​even. So here I am with a medium with no fade and its un-​even So I politely ask them to fix it every time and than they fix it but the fade is so horrible. I HIGHLY recommend going somewhere else.

They honored a free military haircut during veterans day and I was happy with the service. They dont do waxing nor hair coloring which is why they get 4 stars. I personally like enjoy products but they predominantly have crew and paul Mitchell products. The wait was only 4 minutes on the evening on a Tuesday which was not as bad as other places where it ist packed and wait times go up to 45 plus. Overall good location for convenience and decent service eventhough options are very limited.

I absolutely love this salon! Not only are the stylists friendly and professional, I didn’t have to wait to get my hair cut and styled. Not to mention I received a promotion in the mail for a 5.99 haircut! I have paid a lot more at many other salons and not been as pleased as I was here. I recommend great clips for the whole family. So happy I found this salon!!!

I went to this shop when it first opened and things were a little rough, but I gave them the benefit of the doubt since the shop was new. Well I went back today for my second time/​haircut after having used their call in appointment service. I had confirmed that the stylist that I wanted to use was available and would see me when I arrived.
I arrived within 10 minutes as scheduled and checked in with the stylist, but as I was going to her chair another stylist butted in from out of nowhere and got in the face of my stylist for not taking people who were there ahead of me. It was not a pleasant scene for anyone including the others who were in the shop. I was told I’d have to wait and that the others would be taken in front of me.
After my stylist had left with one of the other customers and the «but-​in» stylist was standing there very proud of herself, I asked her what the benefit of the call-​in option was if the shop didn’t honor it? Then it dawned on her that possibly she had acted a bit hastily absent all the facts. During this whole time there was a lady who was waiting who kept telling this stylist to let me go ahead but of course the stylist wouldn’t listen; she was on a mission.
I’m sure now that I shouldn’t have given the shop the benefit of the doubt after my first visit. Things have gone from bad to worse and there is absolutely no customer service. I certainly won’t be trying for a «third time’s a charm»! There are much better shops with similar prices. There’s just no reason to go there.
