Crumbs on my table! Yuck! Drops of coffee on another… Desperate for stevia and agave juice to sweeten my coffee!

Came in on my lunch break for a breakfast bagel to be half way done with the first half of my bagel and find a long black hair cooked in with the egg. Disgusting.

The only reason I went inside this place was because I had a gift card. The workers were very rude and knows nothing about customer service. I will never come back to this place. PS — I threw away the food that I got because I wasn’t sure if it was messed with by the rude employees.

The food is good and our coffees were good, but I’m giving this place only one star because it is absolutely disgustingly dirty. EVERY table is dirty, eggs on the ground, newspapers strewn about, forks left on table. Come on, there’s at LEAST four workers in here and not ONE is vaccuuming or cleaning tables. Nice people, but sad eating area. Please step it up Einstein.

I was trained as an en flight surgeon and the employees here behave as if they have the most demanding and stressful job in town. One in particular, Hagan, was physically aggressive and incredibly rude to my wife and I after we stopped in on Monday after my wife finished chemotherapy and had a craving for bagels. After swiping one of my two gift cards(given to us by my wife’s cancer treatment team), she threw it in the trash even though it had a full balance on it. No apology, no attempt to retrieve it, and when I asked her why she threw it away, she smacked the counter incredibly loudly and said«s — t.» There were older women both behind and in front of me in line and one just walked out immediately after saying she had seen enough attitude from the employee and didn’t want to «get a heart attack from this crazy girl.» As someone used to reacting in combat situations, I can tell you it was indeed really loud and instinctively I(and others in line) recoiled. I asked Hagan why she would be so aggressive toward a customer who had done nothing wrong and she said loudly«I’m an aggressive person, get over it.“I told her we were just customers who were trying to pay for our bagels and she went to the trash can, walked off with it without saying a word to me but muttering things under her breath and making hand gestures the whole time. A customer on the other end of the line heard what Hagan said about me and immediately admonished Hagan. That customer then relayed to my wife and I that Hagan had muttered to another employee«clock me out, he needs to go back to 7−11» — a reference to my perceived race. I thank this individual for having the courage to admonish someone publicly over such an offensive reference when employees failed to do so. Following this issue I attempted to get the employee’s name from other employees and was met with resistance and stonewalled until one employee reluctantly gave me the information after saying there were no managers at all in the organization. Other employees were defensive of Hagan’s behavior and no employee ever apologized or retrieved my gift card form the trash or reissued another one. A customer waiting for her food went behind the counter to retrieve my gift card which was on the floor right next to the trash can that the employee had walked off with. No apology and all the employees are still employed at this location. As a veteran and also someone utterly confounded by why a racial component had to be brought into the discussion, I respectfully ask others to avoid this establishment at least until this issue is resolved. I have escalated this issue to a gentleman named Mike, a regional HR person. I have an incredibly calm demeanor and if this can happen to my wife and I, it can happen to anyone. A general rule for employees should be to not be aggressive toward customers — my wife was already an emotional mess after chemo, and even more so after this undesirable interaction.

Did their survey last week and was promised a free breakfast bagel next time I arrive. Came in today and they remembered me and my entire meal was on them. Great customer service!

For breakfast on the go, this place is fabulous! I’ve never had a bagel combo I didn’t like. The staff was friendly and seemed like they love working there, which is a plus in my book! Annabelle helped us today and was so sweet to my daughter, who was being fussy! Great job Einsteins, we will always be back!

We use the Einstein Bagel in Del Mar Highlands often and had an errand over in Encinitas and tried this location for the first time. Out of the bagel my fiancé wanted, and the place had a less than sparkling appearance, unlike the Del Mar Highlands location. Outside, tables had leftover papers, cups and etc. To the extent that a person who worked next door at Wahoo Fish Tacos went and cleaned up the Einstein Bagel tables. He obviously was worried appearance could drive his customers away.

Horrible experience at the La Costa/Encinitas location today. There was no one in line when we arrived but we waited 5 min to order. Two different people came to the register to check things but never acknowledged us. We finally ordered for a family of 5. After we paid, an employee told is they were out of bananas & asked if she could substitute the Berry Goodness for the Nutella. We wanted Nutella, so then she said she could use strawberries instead of bananas. That was fine. 10 minutes later we got our order. I checked it before we left. Bagel w cream cheese was correct Pizza bagel was correct but the fruit cup contained 5 pieces of fruit, including a rotten grape. Egg bagel without cheese had cheese ½ Nutella ½ Berry Goodness was on cinnamon bagel, not chocolate chip as ordered. Very little Nutella or cream cheese on it. 2 x ½ Nutella was not only on the wrong bagel flavor, but it had strawberry cream cheese. Ridiculous! I told the cashier and said we’d been there 15 min & couldn’t wait longer, so wanted a refund on the Nutella bagel we never got. I gave them back the strawberry one. Then the employee who made it & who has asked me if they could sub berry for Nutella came over & said«why are you asking for a refund when I can make you another?». I told her we didn’t have any more time to wait & she said it was ready. It was again on the wrong kind of bagel & hardly had any Nutella on it. I figured that was quicker than waiting for a refund, so we took it. Super disappointed in our experience & appalled at the service. We used to go there often but this was ridiculous. We won’t be back.

wow. people aren’t kidding. this place has the worst customer service. we were in a huge rush so we wanted to place an order via phone for pick up. called 5 times. 3 times they just flat out didn’t answer the phone. the other two times they picked up then hung up the phone immediately. once we arrived, the guy behind the register today told me that their cheese is not pasteurized. called einstein’s corporate to verify and it turns out most of their cheeses are pasteurized with only one or two exceptions. driving to the einstein’s in oceanside from now on. oh, p. s., they were out of everything except onion, garlic, and some spinachy-looking bagels. einstein’s corporate, are you out there? you need new management for this place or something.

When looking for a fast breakfast option, Einstein’s is the best place to go! They offer a large variety of bagels, but best if you get there first thing in the morning. When they run out of a selection they don’t replenish. I love their breakfast sandwiches, egg on a bagel, yes please! I do think it’s odd you have to order at one register then walk 5feet down to pay at another register. It would much fast to do it all at one, it doesn’t take that long for someone to pay. Highly recommend this location of Einstein Bagels, it’s my fav!

I have always loved these bagels. The are soft inside and a bit harder on the outside with so many options, My Mom and I popped by after shopping one day and they were so low on bagels. I think they got wiped out early. But they were sweet, asked us if we wanted it toasted, with or without cream cheese. We got it in a timely fashion and it was great. Huge, hot and melting with cream cheese. They even have doggy treats(hard bagels). Wasn’t the cleanest place I’ve been, but than again, we sat outside at one of the tables.

Seriously rude and useless employees. Manager not much better. So I go in place an order bagel cream cheese and a mocha. I got the bagel right away perfect. I sat down and figured I would read the paper and relax So half way through my bagel I still don’t have my drink. So I ask the cool dude were is my bagel. He goes oh forgot. I was like oops can you make it? He was like sure«dude». I said thanks No big deal right! He then starts talking to the next customer. I was like is someone going to make. There was a line of customers. He looked at me with a kinda dazed stoned look like he was confused. I said you just said I will make it then you went on to the next customer. He was like I gotta take care of the line man I said forget it just give me my money back. And stepped up to the cash register. He then turner around and started making the drink. So I ask the for the manager HEWASSTANDINGRIGHTTHERE right next to the DUDE. I said seriously. Just give me my money back

When you’re craving a bagel… Only Einsteins Bros. Bagels will do. Not familiar w this area, I did an Internet search for Einsteins. This location did not disappoint. The bagel supply was full, bagel was made to perfection(just the right amount of crisp), and they didn’t haggle me over more shmear. There was one employee specifically, Eduardo, and he worked his butt off and he had exceptional service with every customer. He always had a smile, greeted and made friendly gestures to all the customers, worked well with his coworkers, and he was attentive to waiting customers even when he was busy. Nice multi-tasking, buddy. That was unexpected ;) oh and he hand delivered each order. That’s what I’m talking about! The restaurant itself was not so impressive. It’s on the small side. The line gets crowded and doesn’t have very thoughtful arrangement with respect to crowd control or flow of traffic. The tables needed to be bussed, most of them had crummies and trash on the ground. And the tables were poorly matched(as in, tables with different heights were paired together) and were uneven — I hate that. The drink counter was messy and needed to be restocked. I’ll tell you what, if those girls worked half as hard as Eduardo with as much attention to detail then the restaurant would be on point. Another big ups: I saw another employee dive into cleaning the bathroom with some heavy supplies. That’s a good sign. I appreciate a clean bathroom. All in all, this is a good place to go. Customer service and food quality is their strongest point. Other perks: easy access and ample parking.

I love Einstein Bagels. They are quick, they are inexpensive, and they taste so good. My favorite is the pretzel bagel but chances are they will be sold out which is always depressing. I haven’t found another bagel shop yet that hd a good pretzel bagel. There’s a place in San Marcos that has one but its coated with salt and not edible. This location is in a great area, right in the heart of a lot of great shops like barns and noble and target. It’s practically on the corner of two main roads, next to gas stations and close to the freeway. The employees are very nice and the seating area is kept clean. They also offer free wifi if you enter your email. My only complaint is that they don’t make enough pretzel bagels, they’re obviously popular, make more!

OMG. 10:30AM Sunday, Mothers Day, and they are out of bagels. YES, ya heard me right. NO bagels. OK, so I exaggerated, they had one bagel selection, some weird kind no one wanted. They told us to come back in 30 minutes. A bagel restaurant minus bagels. Very disappointing.

Always out of bagels before noon. Makes it pointless to offer lunch selections if the only option is cinnamon bagels. They are even out of plain. When I asked the cashier why this particular location is always so low on options she said it takes 20 minutes to get them ready. Umm okay. So get them ready. Made no sense.

I received a coupon in the mail and the sandwich advertised caught my eye. The Napa Valley sandwich looked delicious and I was absolutely right about that. My daughter chose the turkey club and loved it:) all of the ingredients were fresh and who doesn’t love fresh bread/bagels? I’ve never been to Einstein Bros. so I’m happy I received that coupon because I’ll definitely be back on a regular basis to try out some other things that looked yummy as well! –1 star because the service is lacking…

I know I tend to come to bagel places a bit late, but it wasn’t close to closing time or anything(around noon) and they were out of probably over half of their bagel selection. They had quite a few flavors I really wanted, and I was disappointed. The orange juice was expensive, so I expected it to be fresh-squeezed. It didn’t taste like it. They didn’t have hot sauce of any kind and I had to borrow from Wahoo’s next door. Oh well. Still got my bagel craving satisfied.

It was about 10am on a Saturday and I really just wanted a coffee but decided last minute to also get a bagel. The cashier was efficient enough, I suppose, but after I paid he said he’d call my name when my bagel was ready. Oh really? He didn’t ask for my name so I don’t know how exactly he was going to do that. It took him a beat or two before he finally said, «oh, I mean, we’ll just call out your order.» Then I got to get my coffee and see behind the line. It was atrocious. Like, really dirty and gross, with trash everywhere. Damn, I kinda don’t want that bagel anymore. :(Got my to go bagel and no napkins were provided, what’s up with that?
