if there was — it is. i got food poison from the very spicy grilled chicken breast on thursday feb. 18, 2016. when i reported this to the owner, he had the cook call me and she was very rude. she told me food poison doesn’t show for 12 hours. i had already been told by the er doc after many test food poison. i had ate only one other time that day egg and cheese, the same as my husband, who was fine. don’t ever eat there.

Food is tasty, service in the drive through could be a bit more friendly.(I hope for improvement, it’s the same guy in the window each time. Maybe we’ll get a smile one day!) To me, and especially in a small town, a smile on your face is just as important as tasty food on your plate.

This out of the way authentic Texas bbq joint is situated in the«lake» country.. it’s décor is classic western with hardwood floors and pinewood siding. The wait staff is friendly and efficient… helpful with recommendations on dinner selections. The salad bar was excellent with a large variety of fresh veggies and salads(try the corn relish… Some of the best I’ve had and definitely homemade). I ordered the two meat plate(moist brisket ALWAYS) and hot sausage along with hot beans and potato salad(mixed together of course, because you can’t claim real southern status if you don’t mix beans and potato salad). The portions were a touch smaller than I was used to… but it was all well done and tasted great. The price was decent… Although nothing to write home about. I wouldn’t necessarily go out of my way to return here again, but if you find yourself in the area and you’re craving Texas style bbq… it will definitely scratch that itch!

We chose this restaurant based on reviews by Unilocalers. We have been in Texas for about six weeks and were looking for some good barbecue. Circle H was not bad, but we were a little disappointed. I had to bake potato with chopped beef and my wife had the brisket plate. The brisket was tasty and tender. The potato salad was probably the best thing we eat we ate that night, and the cabbage was so-so. We wanted to split the combo plate, but we’re not allowed to do so without paying a $ 4.95 up charge which gave us an extra drink, extra toast and the salad. We did not want anything extra-just the combo plate but weren’t allowed to do that. The salad bar was not extravagant but everything was fresh and tasted wonderful. We had the chocolate chip pecan pie for dessert and although the piece was pretty small to be $ 4.95, it was pretty tasty. Overall, circle H is an average barbecue restaurant but we probably wouldn’t rush back anytime soon.
