One of the best in the bay area! Awesome receptionist they are great listeners. Strudwick spends a good amount of time with his patients and doesn’t rush them away and make sure his patients are taken care off. Highly recommended.

TOP NOTCH SERVICE! I’ve been to several Orthopedic Surgeons in my life and I have to say I’ve found the best of the best in Dr. Strudwick! I suffered what I thought was a shoulder injury about 2 years ago, went to Physical Therapy and my symptoms only got worse. I started having numbness and tingling down my arms and feared it was related to my heart or poor circulation. I went to an amazing Cardiologist (Dr. Ferguson) and he referred me to Dr. Strudwick. Dr. Strudwicks initial evaluation was more in-​depth and thorough than my previous Orthopedic Surgeons and come to find out. my shoulders are JUST FINE and the issue is my neck! Dr. Strudwick sent me for X-​Rays and MRI to be sure and now I’m in Physical Therapy:) I have to say I’m already starting to feel better! Amazing service, thorough evaluation and amazing insight into fixing my true issues.
Not only is Dr. Strudwick AMAZING so is his staff! I’ve never met a friendlier group of ladies that really go out of their way to ensure you are taken care of.

I called and asked if they take my insurance since the doctors name came up in my profile online through my provider which only shows the doctors that they will take my insurance. Lady insisted that they dont take my insurance. I had to force her to actually look into it and with heavy heart she asked for ALL, ALL my info like she would call my insurance like she is me. (eg, DOB but also social security (!!) why did she need that? etc etc). I gave the info. called me back 2 weeeks (yes 2 weeks later!!). Sorry but no need to answer the call even if you say yes we accept you. I had a feeling there would always be an issue there for my case. Sorry I never got to meet the doctor. this is a review for his office apparently and not him.

I’ve seen a lot of doctors in my lifetime but when it comes to being compassionate and caring none, compares to Dr. Strudwick. When he speaks to you he makes direct eye contact. He shows so much concern for your well being. When you are in his office you feel as though you are his only patient. He clearly KNOWS what he’s doing. I highly recommend Dr. Strudwick for any Ortho needs. He is kind… reallly kind and very professional. He makes you feel cared for. He’s very easy on the eyes. very easy and that smile could light up the world. Wish I could clone him, but unfortunately they only made 1 and hear he’s taken. If you have any ortho needs he’s the man!

Desk person was very nice but I called several times and each one a call back was promised. Unfortunately I never did get it. If you need care sooner than later I would call somewhere else like Webster. Maybe the care differs, but I will never know.

I’d like to say first, «Thank You» to Dr. Strudwick. 21 mos ago I hurt myself at work and tore both my menenus in both my knees. My brother kept telling me to go to Dr. Strudwick, but followed the insurance protocol and went to their doctor. He mis-​diaginous my condition. (Dr. Contreous) He did surgery on my left knee back in Feb. ’13 and to this day the left knee is still weaker than the right knee has STILL hasn’t been worked on. Anyway, I stayed with him for 18 mos., all the while he was making a bunch of excuses about my condition to just keep collecting the Insurance money. I never felt that he gave a dam about me as a person or my condition. I finally woke up and called Dr. Strudwick, and in the short 3mos that I’ve been working with him, I’ve enjoyed his «bedside manner» to make me feel at ease on taking knee injections. (I’m deathly afraid of needles) He’s made it very comfortable to take these injections, and I feel like I’ve a great relationship with my doctor and although it’s too early to say that I’m totally better. I will say, «I’m VERY HAPPY» that I made the move to Dr. Strudwick and I encourage anyone else in need of a good surgeon to check him out. He’s AWESOME!

Dr Strudwick has been my doctor since 2008. He’s attentive, he listen and genuinely cares for his patient. Yes he’s busy and the appointments are hard to get. He is worth the wait. Unfortunately because of bureaucratic BS from my employer I have to go with one of there doctors in another network. I am scared to death and after reviewing the other doctors on Unilocal I’m even more nervous with the rating from previous patients. Dr Warren Strudwick is «THE BEST» and I love the ladies in the office.

If you need to see an Orthopedic Dr GO ONLY TO DR STRUDWICK!!! Please… go go go to Emeryville! Dr Strudwick knows his stuff! He is soooo knowledgeable about the body and I can’t say enuff about his bedside manner! He is funny, personable, comforting, knowledgeable and helps you understand your ailments in laymens terms and never acts like one of those «know it all» doctors! Heez sooo down to earth and makes his office enviroment feel comfortable and safe (and then there’s the easy on the eyes with a great smile part!!!)
If you don’t believe me… check out his bio! The Raiders trust him, as he is thier Orthopedic surgeon! (Maybe you will see one of them in his office??? Although I never did :(LOL) And if that is not enuff, you will also see that he was the orthopedic surgeon for the 2004 and 2008 Men’s Olympic Basketball Dream Teams; They trusted him too!
He is just amazing! I had a tore up knee that was fixed from Dr visit to MRI to Surgery in a month and then the recovery… WONDERFUL! I, again, can’t say enuff about Dr Strudwick! He has made my knee better after suffering for 7 months and finally finding him, Dr «Stud“wick! HEEHEEEEE
And not only is Dr Strudwick amazing so is the staff! Chanel at the front desk is super sweet and helpful and Heidi is so fast and so knowledgeable when working with your medical insurance!
I HIGHLY RECCOMMEND THAT YOU GO TO DR STRUDWICK NO MATTER HOW HIGH OR FAR YOU WILL HAVE TO GO!
AND if I trust him, my general practioner trusts him and then if professional athletes trust him… HE MUST BE THE ONLY ORTHO YOU SHOULD EVER GO TO; and then reccommend him to all your family, friends and co-​workers like I do!!!

I injured my knee back in August and thinking it would recover over time, I put off seeing a doctor. But after almost 2 months of perfecting my pimp walk I decided it was time to see a specialist. The advice I got from everyone was that since this was a sports related injury and if I ever hope to return to my normal active self — see someone who treats the professional athletes. (He’s been with the Raiders for over 15 years.)
A friend recommended Dr. Strudwick and the earliest appointment I was able to get was almost 3 weeks out — but luckily he had something available sooner so I was able to see him 4 days after making the appointment.
He is friendly and professional and does a great job illustrating and explaining what might be the problem. I left my first appointment with a prescription for an MRI — also thinking I might need surgery. He diagnosed that I might have a torn meniscus and provided explanations of why /​why not to get surgery and pros /​cons of either decision.
Several weeks later (it took forever to get my MRI’s done) he flew through my films and recommended PT instead. I’m now happily on my way to recovery, surgery free.

I can not say enough positive comments about Dr. Warren Strudwick. He is simply the best. I had been struggling with knee issues since the Summer of 2010 and just thought that I was having problems due to the «aging process». After TWO consults with a couple of very well known orthopedic surgeons in Contra Costa Co., I had just about given up trying to figure out what was wrong with my knee. The first genius told me that I had a «disease process» that he couldn’t do anything about. And the other surgeon, while well intended COMPLETELY blew the diagnosis from the get go and told me NOTHING WAS WRONG on MRI (later revising it to an ACL tear). I started feeling like I might have psychological problems and my whole family thought I was experiencing psychosomatic illness. Finally, in March of 2011, my cousin directed me to Dr. Strudwick in Emeryville. I was reluctant to leave Contra Costa Co. but finally agreed to give him a try out of desperation as the pain had become unbearable. Sure enough, Dr. Strudwick saw that I had a completely torn ACL, along with a medial meniscus tear and some cartilage damage. So much for just having a ‘disease process”. My knee was very damaged and I had been hobbling around on it for months, perhaps doing even more damage!!!
I had ACL reconstruction at the end of June and am now in my 3^rd week of recovery. Dr. Strudwick is truly a master a what he does. While I am still in the early stages of recovery, I feel confident that he did an excellent job to heal the damage that he found. He is an incredibly down to earth and KIND professional. He is warm, engaging, charming, compassionate and does his best to put you at ease. In fact, the whole surgical team was amazing. I agree with the other reviewer that commented about his ability to explain complicated medical issues in a simple way. I always come away from his office feeling reassured and well cared for. Bravo, Dr. Strudwick. I am so happy I made the drive and took a chance on you.

So I recently had an ACL Reconstruction done by Dr. Strudwick on 05/​05/​2011 It’s been about 2 months and My knee feels great!!! Initially I couldn’t get the surgery because I didn’t have proper insurance to cover the expenses and Dr. Strudwick was willing to give me a 50% discount in order for me to have the surgery done and if it weren’t for the price of the surgery center (which is a different place entirely from Dr. Strudwicks office) I would have been able to do it. But I waited a few months and ended up getting full-​time benefits from my job so I took my new insurance plan back to Dr. Strudwicks office and my surgery was scheduled within in that week. Dr. Strudwick makes me feel so comfortable and he is very articulate but at the same time he knows how to break things down into simple terms so we average joes can understand how we have injured ourselves and how he plans to fix it. Meeting Dr. Strudwick has truly been a blessing, stroke of luck call it what you will its just been an awesome experience and can not wait to be back playing basketball
Please do yourself a favor and go to Bay Area Orthopedic sports and spine for any surgery or injury you will not regret it other places you may but I have been here and Dr. Strudwick and all of his staff are amazing people.

I asked friends and colleagues for a referral to a local orthopedic surgeon, and every one of them directed me to the office of Dr. Warren Strudwick. It soon became clear why there was such consensus. Dr. Strudwick is a great listener and took time to understand the full scope of my injury. He is positive and upbeat, which made me optimistic about recovery. I have a complicated injury, and his vast experience and expertise was apparent in the treatment approach. After two years of living in chronic pain and having seen three other doctors about this injury, I am finally recovering and returning to my sports, due to his intervention. I highly recommend Dr. Strudwick and readily refer friends and business associates to his office.

When I popped my achilles I found the best surgeon to repair it. Warren Strudwick did a great job. Very clear and straight forward with the process of healing. I had great results and I am walking 12 weeks after surgery. I am very happy with my speedy recovery and would recommend him to anyone with an orthopedic injury.

I first went to Dr. Strudwick 3 years ago due to a Stress Fracture in my left foot from playing soccer. I was 16 at the time, and didn’t really know much about breaks, sprains, strains, tears, etc. Dr. Strudwick clearly and calmly explained to me the diagnosis, the possible reasons that this can occur, as well as gave me two options as to what I could do to treat it.
Flash forward 3 years, and many soccer injuries later, and Dr. Strudwick still is my go to guy for any injuries to my knees/​feet/​legs that I may incur.
In my latest trip to his office, it was to discuss whether or not my ACL was torn (turns out it was). Again he made me feel welcome, and told me clearly what my options were (cadaver, patellar tendon, or hamstring). With them, he included the pros and cons, as well as if I would loose any speed by choosing one over the other. My main focus was to ensure that my speed wouldn’t be decreased, as well as to have the most stable of the options. Surgery was scheduled two weeks later, and he did a remarkable job. Not only that, but he then prescribed me Physical Therapy with one of the BEST PT places around SOL.
All in all, the interactions that I have had with Dr. Strudwick have all been user friendly, very informative, and have laid out my options very clearly. THANK YOU!

First impression:
When you walk in, you enter a pretty inviting atmosphere from the warm color of the walls, to the sports magazines/​fashion magazines sitting on the tables as well. Upon being called in by a lovely assistant, you begin to see the experience that Dr. Strudwick has simply by viewing all of the signed footballs, posters from Olympians, and myriad of other «memorabilia» which is more like thank yous from the athletes we see competing every week. If these athletes trust themselves with Warren, I knew from the moment I stepped into the office, that I was in good hands.
