Animation Collaborative

I’ve taken two courses at Animation Collaborative. Both the Beginner Animation I and the Demo and Lecture class. Both with Michal Makarewicz.
Let me start off by saying you will learn from some of the best teachers who are currently spending their days working on future movies from studios like Pixar (conveniently located across the street) I’m talking about current information from some of the most knowledgeable teachers you could have.
I went in with a basic understanding of Maya and a history of 2D animation and I can’t believe how much I’ve learned. Both from lectures but also from homework and constructive feedback that has only made me a better animator.
Class sizes are small and friendly. There is a real relaxed atmosphere with the class and the teachers are great at getting to know you and answering questions whatever they may be.
If you are interested in becoming an animator at any level the classes and information I’ve learned are invaluable to myself and should be to you as well. I’ll be heading back for more classes in a heartbeat. This school has truly been the most important education I’ve taken since college.

I believe in this school and the instructors 1000%. You will learn how to think and observe like a professional and it will become obvious in your reel very quickly.
It is beyond worth the $ a class costs for what you walk away with. The instructors are thoughtful and they will put in just as much energy as you do into your art. They actually care about you, that’s what makes them such great artists. They reshaped the way I thought about characters and animating. I feel like I should name my first born child after them because they’ve helped push my work and myself to another level.
I’ve also established wonderful friendships with fellow students and instructors and am so glad I chose this school.
My animation background before The AnimC (hopefully this helps future students see the value in these workshops)
I graduated from Ex’pression College with a BAS in Animation and Visual Effects (I barely learned to animate, but learned the whole anim pipeline)
I then completed the Animation Mentor program (yey I learned how to animate).
I then worked for a short time in games and struggled with doing acting shots in my spare time (yey I learned physicality in anim)
Then I came to the AnimC and after a few classes I found work that I was actually interested in!

If you are serious about learning Animation, Character Design or even Story than this is it, the real deal, the best of the best. The most beneficial classes from the most talented instructors who come and teach because it is their passion. Plus it’s all «a La Carte» education specifically to your needs. Small class sizes and teachers who go out of their way to make sure you get the most out of each lesson. You won’t get this anywhere else… seriously. I’ve taken several courses here and not only have I met and learned from inspiring and thoughtful mentors but many great friends as well. This school is a hidden gem.
