If you like fried southern bar food and ambiance, this is the hick joint to visit. Customer service is excellent. The owner is friendly and the location seems to bring a large crowd on Friday nights tthat wear rhinestone jeans and camo to hide their beer bellies. Decent.

I would give this place zeros stars if possible. It was awful. I got a burger that was supposed to be made with local meat. The meat had a sour old flavor. My date got the philly it came with about a speckle of meat. I would never go back nor would I recommend it

Always on the top of the list for my friends and I when we want to grab a couple drinks, good food, and dance the rest of the night! The food is delicious(regular menu and catered events) along with a great bar. The table service isn’t the best but for a bar, it is fair. The bar service is great and I have never had any issues getting served quickly. Make sure to go when bands such as Mason Lovette, Sok Monkees, and Carri Smithey are playing. The place will be packed it is more than fun! The cover is not too expensive but be prepared to pay it even at the very end of the night if they missed your table while picking it up.

This place was awesome! I visited on a recent trip to the area and it was a great experience! The vibe was fun and young, and our waitress was super friendly. The food was very good. The best thing: Frogg Chips! Oh my goodness, those Frogg chips are so good! I hope to be back in the area again soon, and I will definitely be returning to the Fat Frogg!

We had horrible service all night and they made us buy wristbands after we had been there for over 2 hours and spent over $ 200 between our table of 5. After we got our wristbands we immediately had our table taken away from us while we were trying to watch the Panthers in the playoff game. You are in NC, support your local team. I am an Elon grad with family in the area and I will never be back and I will make sure to tell my friends to stay away

1 star because no stars is not an option. Been in a couple of times and service was sub par but atmosphere made up for it. Tonight nothing will make up for the experience or influence me to return. Tonight a group of four friends and I were looking for a local option to catch the Panthers playoff game. We decided on Fat Frogs. We arrived at 8 and from the start our server acted like we were a burden even though our only expectations were to eat, drink, and watch football. After spending approximately $ 200 we were informed they were going to bar service. No big deal. We went to the bar and we were informed we couldn’t buy a drink without each of us buying a $ 10 wrist band for the band. We bought the stupid wrist bands and then a bouncer asked us to pick up our drinks to take our table. Been in the business a long time and this is not how you conduct yourself in the«hospitality» industry. Status quo, if you have purchased anything, much less ran a decent tab, you don’t buy a wrist band when cover starts. To the owners, you started out in this industry with no experience and several years later it still shows! You make money by location and that is a blessing because otherwise you would have been out of business a long time ago. Good luck with the future of Fat Frogs and regardless of the circumstance I will never spend another $ 1 in your establishment.

Very middle of the road. Mimosas are WEAK! Solid hangover food. Not terrible, but nothing to write home about.

This bar could be so much better but as it is now, it is just okay. They do have live music which is a plus however the several times I have been the band was not that good. The food is hit or miss. The fried pickles are delicious only if you specify light breading, if you do not you will get thin pickles strips with 3x the breading. The ranch dressing is good stuff. The burgers are good if they actually cook them correctly. I have asked for well done and received a raw burger, blood oozing and all… gag me. I was not impressed by the buffalo burger, it tasted like a frozen pre-packaged burger and was over-seasoned for my taste. The wraps are tasty. There is a nice bar with a decent selection of beer and wine. The service at the bar is good. Never have I received decent table service; always slow and the server seemed bored and unattached. I have not been in awhile so it might have improved. My friends and I have visited when there were only a couple tables occupied and waited 30 – 45 minutes to get our food. Drinks do not stay filled. College students too busy socializing with one another to do their job. I may visit again just to see if anything has changed since my last visit.

Went for a late lunch while visiting family in North Carolina. Got the BBQ Burger with Frogg Chips and it definitely hit the spot. Burger was cooked perfectly, topped with pulled pork, bacon, pepper jack cheese and onion straws, served with a side of bbq sauce with the perfect amount of zing to it. Frogg Chips are thick cut homemade chips with cajun seasoning and a side of ranch for dipping. Yum! My only complaint would be that it was a little cold inside, but the food was delish, beer was cold and the price was right! Fat Frogg will be a regular stop on my trips to visit the family!

Ribbit. The Fat Frog is a nice new addition to Elon even though it has been here for 3 years. With local ownership at the helm that knows what the locals want food wise, beer wise and music wise has a very good chance to succeed. On the menu is burgers, chicken sandwiches, soups, salads, wraps. The most unusual items on the menu are gator bites, bison burger & frog legs. A very nice large selection of beers, both from large breweries and small breweries from North Carolina and abroad foreign and domestic. On this visit I had the Frogg burger at $ 9.00 which is made from 100% Angus beef from a local farm. We also had the crab dip with was very good. The side was the homestyle chips with ranch dressing. The chips were good but I had to drop a star with extremely thin watered down ranch dressing. I also had a draft pint of local Red Oak beer. My fiancé and I came here for a late dinner and drinks. I had the Rooster Wrap and Frogg Chips. SO good! They had plenty of beer specials going on too. The band started playing after we finished eating. They were terrible so we decided to leave before they starting coming around to collect a cover charge. We’ll definitely be back though!

Bonus points for Loose Cannon on tap. Minus points for undercooked and soggy onion rings.

The Frogg usually has a half dozen good craft beers on tap and a good bottle selection. The service is excellent, and the food is typical for a pub restaurant but could definitely improve.

As an Elon student, I’m a huge fan of the Frogg. I have to say I was a little skeptical when it opened up a few years back. I’m not the biggest fan of the Elon bar scene(which is non-existent) but this place quickly created its own niche in the community. The food is really good, especially compared to your usual bar fare. A lot of interesting and quirky menu items(Bison Burger, Alligator Bites) as well as your typical go-to sandwiches and burgers that just taste right. Also they have a nice patio area to eat outside when it’s warm out. What I really like about Fat Frogg though is all of the extras they offer. Me and my friends love Trivia Night on Tuesdays, they have a lot of bands come and play(both really local start-ups to some more well known acts) and they have frequent special event nights(beer pong, contests, cookoffs). Also, the Frogg gets a thumbs up in my book for their beer selection. Definitely the best in the Elon bar area, with lots of craft and local brews that rotate pretty regularly. I’m a craft beer junkie so this is a big plus for me. Bottom line: If you’re in Elon and need a place to hang out on a weekend night, give Fat Frogg a go. You won’t be disappointed.

I don’t understand why there aren’t more restaurants like Fat Frogg. Simple food done well, great beer selection, and good prices. If I lived in Alamance County or went to Elon, I’d be here several times a week. I ate here with my folks, and we all ordered their«Fat Frogg» one pound burger. All of their burgers are made fresh, cooked to order, and topped with fresh toppings. My jalapeño/grilled onion/sauteed mushroom/pepper jack burger was delicious. The homemade chips are a delicious complement to the tasty burgs, and the portion is generous. We accompanied our lunch with an order of fried pickles… nice a crunchy, not overly fried. The dessert was the kicker: deep-fried Oreos. Again, not disgustingly fried or greasy, perfectly sweet(with an added touch of cinnamon) and served with a scoop of cookies and cream ice cream. Heaven. They also have several craft beers on tap and more in bottles, all at very reasonable prices. And the atmosphere makes it a fantastic place to grab a burger and a beer with your buds or your family. Great stuff.

This is a great place to come after work and grab a burger ad beer. The staff is extremely friendly and the food is delicious. They have an extremely wide selection of beers available. Wednesday night at 7:00 is trivia night and it is one of the few places around that fill up because the trivia is so much fun. Bring a few friends, order a beer, and definitely get a bison burger if you have never tried one. They also have some great unusual items including alligator bites, frog legs, fried pickles, and fried Oreos. All of them are delicious and great items to share and pass around the table.

A super cool bar to hang in. Lots of shows on the weekends with a low cover charge. Local beers on tap(including my favorite, Red Oak). Pretty new place– walking distance from Elon’s campus.
