I’ve been going here for almost 10 years and thought it was great because it was close by when I went to Elmwood Park High School. But then after a long time of not eating their food I decided to order a hamburger platter and ended up getting food poisoning! I lost all interest in ever eating there again. I noticed that they have a bunch of new workers, so they need to learn how to keep everything clean and step their game up. River view… you disappointed me.

This is definitely my favorite local place to eat. Quality food at great prices. Large portions. All the food is good. In 25 years, I never had a bad meal here. The staff is helpful and friendly. The owner is there a lot, a really nice guy. I always catch hell for this one but i like it better than Hot Grill sorry lol.

I LOVE Riverview East! Super fast delivery, sooner than the time that they told me it would arrive. Friendly and funny delivery folks. The«all the way» hot dogs are fantastic. I used to be a die-hard Hot Grill fan but no longer. The food is A+, delicious, reasonably priced and they deliver(which none of the other hot dog joints in Bergen and Essex county do). This place is da bomb!

Love this place! If you want great comfort food then this is the place! Its cheap and tasty! I love their Italian Hot dogs, its massive and delicious! Their cheese fries with gravy, yum! Its just an old school place with great food! Oh and the Texas wieners all way is a must!!!

This place is a true institution in Elmwood Park and the surrounding area, lesser known than Hot Grill or Rutt’s Hut, but every bit as good.(Dare I say better?) Over numerous trips over the years I’ve had the famous texas weiners, the gravy fries, the fries with(chili) sauce, chicken sandwiches, burgers, etc. Never disappointed me once. The service is quick and easy as well. If you’re a hot dog fanatic this is a must try.

This was my first ever visit to River View East. I don’t know quite why but you get the feeling that it’s a run downed eatery. Maybe it comes from the smokestacks across the street. I stopped by at noon on a Sunday. I ordered the hot dog with chili, Giant Cheeseburger and french fries. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Seating is around the perimeter with the counter and kitchen in the middle. I ate my meal while watching soccer which then turned to local news. Outdoor seating was available. Ok, here’s the surprise. The hot dog and the burger were amazing. It was even better than the ones from more famous Clifton area establishments which shouldn’t be too difficult to guess. The fries were ok. No wonder it started t get busy soon after.

I’ve been to Twisted Elm next door before and always wondered what this place was so we tried it on a whim today. I have to say I was definitely impressed! Huge menu selection and the food was great and decent size portions. I had the Greek salad with Pita and had nice fresh warm pita bread served with it. My mom had the gyro and said the same about her sandwich. Overall– don’t let the curb appeal turn you away from this hidden gem! Good food, good prices I’ll definitely be back.

I used to like going here but it became too expensive. Charging for toppings on food. Drinks especially vitamin water is too overpriced. They don’t even have coke or Pepsi besides bootleg cola. A chicken cutlet with fries and soda is now $ 10.

I’m a fan of any diner that serves meaty chili to dip my french fries in. You’d be surprised how many Jersey diners don’t, it’s sickening. Had the corned beef panini which was superb. I’ve also had a chance to try their burgers and hot dogs. Great food here for a great price, just a shame they aren’t open all night.

Now this is the REAL fast food. Amazing Texas weiners and beef gyros, onion rings are great as well. I really should have checked out this place sooner and not have judged a book by its cover. What have I been missing out on all these months? Looking forward to trying out more of the menu. Service is very prompt and although you can dine-in we always get take-out. The only downside is the location. Trying to get out of the parking lot to make a left back on River during rush hour is like being in the Third Circle of Hell.

My friend showed me this place a couple months ago and ever since my boyfriend and I go almost every weekend because the food is so simple and great. less means more and the burgers are amazing, just like you’re at a bbq but with a chef that can master anything. The french fries with chili sauce is to die for. If you like simple food, this is the place PLUS they are super cheap

Had 2 hot dogs, one with kraut, the other with red fried onions, and fries. The hot dogs were tasty, but are small and on a regular hot dog bun. The fries were nothing spectacular. For $ 10 bucks(which included a soda), I didn’t think it was a real value.

One Of The Good Hot Dog Joints Deep fried hot dogs are awesome but I’m not a huge fan of the taste of the Thumanns dogs they use, they’re better on the grill in my back yard. Turkey Club, Hot Roast Beef /Turkey Sandwich with gravy are some of my favorites here. Daily Specials and good soup, food cooked to order in a clean environment. Owner Tom is a very nice guy who cares about his customers. Take the whole family
