With Love From Head to Tail

Please find the aggressive email I received regarding my experiences. Quite unprofessional and aggressive. My husband and I choose not to engage with Chris. But we feel it’s important to share with others:
Christine P: Hi, i’m the Chris your talking about on here, and I have to say i don’t appreciate your comments. You don’t know me, and who are you to say i’m not good at my job! You called the shop a couple of times to set up your appt. if you were that concerned maybe you should have stopped in. I have groomed in the area for the past 37 years with a pretty happy clientel, but you can’t please everyone! Your putting me down in you comments and you don’t even know me, i have nothing to do with pricing, it’s not my shop, and as far as Samantha goes i’ve known her 8 yrs, and have done nothing but help her in her choice of careers. So maybe you should know of what you speak of before you get on Unilocal and put people down!!!

Excellent work on grooming but the repeated attitude from the employees is something I can do without. I’ve given this place 3 opportunities thinking maybe they were just busy or having a bad day-​however the rudeness continued. I will happily spend my money somewhere else.

They offer a walk in service for pet mani pedi’s. I was in and out with my cat in 10 minutes despite the fact that it was Saturday and they were very busy. It was also the best nail trip he has ever had! Super short so we don’t have to run back too soon and only $ 7.00. Very friendly staff too.

From Head to Tail isn’t the place we normally take our dogs. We’ve been there once before, and they were just fine. But since we don’t live in the area anymore, we haven’t been back. Truthfully, I was too embarrassed to take our burr-​filled dogs to our normal groomer, and I was bringing our dogs to my parents’ house for the week. I’m glad that my dad agreed to take our pathetic pups in because they were really really bad (normally we don’t let our dogs stay full of burrs, but I swear they were manifesting those darn things from thin air faster than we could pluck them out of their fur).
I have to say that From Head to Tail is SUPER accommodating! I called at 7:45 and asked if they had availability. The gentleman that I spoke to was really nice and friendly & told me that I could bring the dogs in any time before 10:30…perfect. I gave my dad instructions on how to get there & how the dogs usually get trimmed up & sent them merrily on their way while I went to work. I called on my lunch break to see how the drop off went & my dad said he was just on his way to drop off the dogs… at 12:30…which is 2 hours later than they told me. My dad must have been a smooth talker because he was able to just breeze them right in.
Grooming for 2 King Charles spaniels was under $ 100, even after a very (guilt and shame driven) generous tip… almost $ 30 less than what we pay at our local groomer. We just might have to make them our regular place because they were well worth the distance.

We have been coming here for about 1.5 years. We use Cindy for our dogs. She is nothing but spectacular with our dogs. Our little Lucy is a rescue that came from an advised home and doesn’t trust many people. Cindy has done a wonderful job of making Lucy and us very comfortable. Or other dog Bradley absolutely lives this place… For him it is a spa day. He gets super excited every time we go. Superb job Cindy… We will continue to be customers.

Just brought my puppy in. She’s a little shy at first but Chris took great care of her! I would not go anywhere else for baby! The facility is super clean, and the staff could not be more helpful or friendly. I don’t understand how anyone could give this place 1 star. They were obviously having a bad day. No need to take it out on the business !! Keep up the good work guys. I will not be going anywhere anytime soon! I urge everyone to come in and ask for Chris. She’s professional and knows exactly how to care for your extended family members

My husband and I have been taking our cat here for two years. Our groomer, Rich is always very friendly and remembers us when we come in. Their work has never disappointed us and although the price is a little higher than what I would like to pay, I have taken our cat to a less expensive big box groomer and will NEVER go anywhere other than Head to Tail! All staff is very friendly and skilled!

I highly discourage anyone who wants to leave the dog groomer with any feeling of satisfaction to go to Cindy at From Head to Tails in Elmhurst. We brought our goldendoodle in which we brush weekly and groom every 4 – 6 weeks. I specifically asked her to not shave her down too short. Cindy’s attitude from the get go was defensive and condencedning. She looked at me like «well I’m gonna do what I want anyway» It was like I was the vain dog owner who just wants a cute dog. When I picked up my dog, she was shaved down to the skin. Cindy had no intention meeting my needs as a custiomer. She was determined to teach me a lesson and in turn we will have 6 – 8 months of growing out to catch up to her old cuteness! What a disappointment. She knew it was not what I wanted and did it anyway. She could have left her coat longer. There was never remorse or any ownership in this end result. I was treated as if I was the only one in the wrong. Also, horrible customer service. The owner was rude and defensive. I would never go there if I were you! This is the first time I have ever Unilocaled because I am too busy to bother… that is how upsetting this was to us!

These are the nicest people with the cutest shop. The owner is great and has taken my dogs and groomed them at a moment’s notice.
They’ve provided great advice over the phone after they were closed when my dog was sprayed by a skunk. The location is convenient and my dog only comes home mildly freaked out. That’s saying something because my one dog is adopted and she’s really terrified of being left alone.
I hate to extrapolate, but the other reviewer sounds like a nuts, uptight, Elmhurstian. I’m not just thinking that because she owns a Shih Tzu. The whole tone of her review is absurd. In 2 years of taking dogs to this groomer I’ve never seen an unhappy customer. I’ve hung around shooting the breeze with the workers and pet owners who are really happy with the place.

I called several places to bring my puppy for the his first grooming experience and after calling around several places and reading reviews, From Head to Tail was able to make an appt for me and the reviews were great. Location is fantastic, it’s in a cute little «downtown» part of Elmhurst, away from the main downtown part of Elmhurst. Samantha was fantastic with my pup and he can see now! BINGO. He was so mellow that he even fell asleep there until I picked him up. He must of liked it too, since he wasn’t shivering or shaking with fear. I will definitely come back!
Price was excellent, 22 dollars for the bath and trim, plus he stayed a little longer than he should have and it wasn’t a problem for them, so I really appreciate that they were able to work with me.

Five stars. or… five paws up from my dog! I’ve been taking my Golden Retriever, Amber, here for several years. I see Kelly, who is awesome. My dog hates me being away from her and literally SHAKES in the car on the way there, but once she’s in Kelly’s hands, she’s ok. The price is quite fair $ 40 for a big dog with lots of hair and they do a great job. Highly recommended!

Loved the cut on my puppy, but the man on the phone wasn’t very friendly.

This is a decent grooming place. Looks pretty clean and everyone seems friendly. I called the day before to make an appointment. They said I could come any time in the morning. Well that seems odd because I feel like you should have a specific appointment. When I took my dog the next day, I understood.
There were a lot of doggie stations set up where the dogs get groomed. The groomer I talked to said they had about 40 to 50 dogs at the moment (it was 9am!) so they were a little busy (yeah, I’ll say) but they could take my dog, no problem. We kind of talked about length. I said I didn’t want it too short, maybe just a trim. He said they can’t really do that because they use a razor to make the process faster, but he would use a longer blade. I said okay, and had more questions, but he seemed rushed so I just said I would be back when he was done, which apparently would be in 4 hours (yikes!).
I called around 12:30 to check on my dog and they said it would be another hour because they were really busy. Poor dog has been there since 9am. I picked him up and he looked cute of course, but his cut was a little shorter than I would have liked. He has a double coat, and really flowing hair, and I was hoping for something shaggier, but I feel like that wasn’t really an option due to their hair cutting process. I later noticed that a big chunk of hair was missing and it looks like he got cut by the razor too. That was a little surprising. I didn’t really like the choppy look, but the groomer said they could do it shorter or longer next time depending on what I like. It’s nice that they’ll work with you, but still undecided on whether I’ll go back. I might want to try other places first.
The cost for the cut, bath, nail trimmings, ear cleaning was $ 35. That’s a pretty great price considering PetsMart was around $ 50, but now I’m wondering if the latter was more expensive because they use scissors as opposed to a razor, which I think I’d prefer. One more note: since they have so many dogs in at once, they have little boxes where they keep the dogs that are done until they are picked up. That made me a little sad. I feel like you should only take as many dogs as you can pay attention to at one time. They say you can pick up your dog whenever you are free. Well I see why now. Anyway, I’m not completely sold but it’s always an option.

I just recently switched to this place because I was sick of Petco and their over-​priced washes that didn’t even last long.
I see Kelly. She is great… friendly, warm with the animals (she treats them like they are her own which I think is sweet), and she does a thorough job.
I love this place because not only do the groomers do a great job but the prices are soo reasonable. I pay like $ 30 – 35 for bath, nails, ears, and anal glands! Also a biggie, my dog smells sooo good for weeks!
They also do ears, nails, teeth brushing, etc which I don’t even try to attempt on my own.
They also do cats too which is nice.

I’ve taken my dog to see Cindy here for approx 5 years now. They are great with her and my dog always leaves this place with a spring in here step. It’s actually really funny. I have a dalmation mixed dog. She’s medium sized but her hair grows really long. We get her pretty much shaved and it’s always a nice and even shave. Because my dog is also white, she gets skin allergies. They give her a medicated bath and she does not break out in hives anymore. They follow your specifications per your request without hesitation. I also am infamous for calling in last minute and they usually can always take her and don’t treat me differently or unkindly that I do that. I’ve taken her to other groomers in the past and by far I like this place the best. Their prices are reasonable. I pay about 45 for a whole shave, medicated bath, & nails cut, etc. They even accessorize her with a bow on her collar. :) Great place. I almost forgot to mentioned that this past year they recently moved from their location across the street. It’s much bigger and better. It’s truly like your going to your local fancy hair salon.

I take my beloved pooch here to be groomed. They have good hours and reasonable prices. Very friendly too.
