Forget the name but the Tibetan shredded potato dish should be experienced by every human being at least once. You’ll thank me.

Everyone was super nice! A member of our party uses a wheelchair and they were super accommodating about that. We ordered a variety of foods(momo’s, chow mein, shrimp and chicken dishes) and they were all very delicious, and as extra spicy as we requested. Also very well priced with large servings. The chef even popped out and have a few tables complimentary avocado roles. My whole family enjoyed our Christmas dinner outing! Highly recommend it!

Had the momo, spare ribs and wings… all great. Chicken sha datse, special beef, dried beef, chili noodles, and tingmo with Sapporo. Didn’t have the sweet tea again because I was too full… but next time! All delicious!!!

Just had the most amazing meal! I ordered my favorite shredded potatoes with chicken and the beef ema datse with ting mo on the side. Spicy but it was absolutely delicious and still hot even though I ordered everything as take out. Will definitely order everything again

We’ve been eating here very often ever since 2011. We have to say that there’s never a bad day eating here. The food & the service are consistently good. Always 5 stars from the first day we’ve been here back in December, 2011. Excellent Bhutanese cuisine! Definitely one of Queens best!

The great thing about this place is that they open late and the staff is really accommodating to their customers. The location is within the heart of queens within the woodside/elmhurts location. There a lot of restuarants in the area but only few are truly recommended. I wanted to try this place since the reviews seemed legit. The décor is very simple and organized. The food was pretty unique. I ordered a salmon dish with a spicy sause, I wanted to be adventurous for one night. The food was pretty tasty. Though u am personally speaking am picky regarding the way my fish is cooked. But for generally speaking the dish is good. My boyfriend got a spicy lo mein dish and boy was it spicy! But it was tasty and very filling. The pricing was decent and I would recommend this place for people who are not afraid of spicy and not afraid to go outside their comfort zones to try different food.

I ate the beef thukpa which was really tasty. The side pickle add more taste on it. The really good part is my food on table was within few minute of my order. That makes my hungry stomach feel good ;) :)

Five stars for Himalaya food and two for their Japanese food. The ema datsi tastes great, with heavenly cheesy flavor and texture, and perfect pungency. However, the Japanese dishes are far from tasty. I don’t understand why they decide to add them into their menu.

Their Sha Datse chicken is really goood ! My fave besides Beef Momo. Definitely recommended to anyone who loves Tibetan food or for first timer. Their Tibetan and Bhutanese food are more authentic than the Japanese one which is kinda bland. Prices are reasonable. A good hidden gem in the neighborhood.

This place took me right back to my middle school days in Kalimpong, India. The décor, the tables and chairs, the smell and yes the food. Despite the japanese reference in the name — this place has one of the best street style tibetan dish. Don’t get me wrong — I love Japanese cuisine, the sushi roll… sashimi. tempura but nothing beats the taste of some tibetan thukpa and momo. For my fellow Unilocalers, Momo is a tibetan/nepali style dumpling made from either meat or vegetables. Everything we ordered was fresh and delicious. Apparently, they also cater and unknowingly I already had tasted some of their delicious cuisine at a party I attended the night before. The place it self isn’t the ideal«date» spot but if you’re on a budget and hungry for some tibetan delicacies then this is the place to go.

The datse is extremely spicy. I think my husband and I would have liked the dish more if they offered a less spicy version of the dish. I definitely recommend ordering the ting mo with the datse as dipping bread. The ting mo on its own is plain, but it is extreme soft; and when dipped in the broth, really tasted good… although after the second taste of the datse, I loss all my taste buds. We ordered the beef version and I loved the tenderness of the beef. If the owner is reading this… PLEASE offer a milder version of this dish. PLEASE!!! The chicken teriyaki was good as well, but my son complained that it was dry. I didn’t think so. As far as the mango lassi… I thought it was a bit tart.

This place is consistent and has really tasty food. I actually really like this place and wish I could give it a 4, but I have a couple of small, easily fixable(hint hint wasabi staff!) problems that prevent me from upping that score. 1. The momos taste like nothing. I can’t say they’re BAD but they’re just not good. They taste like beef and salt — but really boring beef and salt. 2. Everything else tastes really good… but also really salty! Like really salty. 3. The ema dhatse used to taste really good, but in the past year or more it tastes very mild and bland. The cheese tastes different and the texture and taste have completely changed. It also used to be almost too spicy, which I understand changing, but I preferred that to boring. 4. One of the waiters cleared our table without asking us. We were done so it was okay, but he proceeded to pile pieces of the remaining food onto a couple of our plates for us to finish. This was extremely unprofessional and rude, never ever do that. BUT on the plus side! Everything is consistent and the service is fast enough.(But yes that means the momo is consistently boring and the food is consistently salty) I still really like this place! That’s why I gave it a 3. Some really good dishes are the sliced potatoes(pretty much french fries in a chilly), double cooked pork or the ribs, as well as the chicken wings!(maybe ask for less salt though) And those are the dishes that keep me going!

My boyfriend and I ordered Ting-mo(steamed bun) that we dipped into the cheese broth because it was a bit dry. These were so-so. I really enjoyed the Ema Datsi(thick cheese broth with beef and peppers) with rice. We also ordered: – Beef momos(which are similar to beef soup dumplings) – Chicken with potato(shoe string fries with chicken and pepper) – Spare ribs(a bit spicy, but still good) This is the first time I’ve tried Tibetan food. I would definitely come back for the ema datsi! Food was good. Service was excellent.

I’ve never had HImalayan/Tibetan/Bhutanese food before and Wasabi Point was a great start! Ordered beef momos, Tibetan cabbage salad, house salad, thukpa with veggies, and sha datse, with a mango lassi, of course. The mango lassi and both salads were delicious and made a good starter. I felt like the ratio of dough to beef in the momos were too much so I wasn’t a fan of those, but the Thukpa(basically thick noodles and veggies in soup with choice of meat/veggie) was yummy and the sha datse(chicken with peppers in a light cheese broth) blew me away. I want to eat datse every day, soooo good! It wasn’t spicy for me at all so I added some hot sauce, but it was great without too. The broth was flavorful and tasted slightly similar to broccoli cheese soup, but for sure less thick and fattening. A few days later I ordered from their lunch menu and got the phing sha(clear noodle with beef and spinach), chicken and veggie, and veggie spring rolls with a choice of ting-mos. The phing sha and chicken/veggie dish were ok, but the spring rolls were good, made up of potatoes, carrot, and beansprouts. The tingmos were light and fluffy, like bread should be. Summary: Order the datse. Best thing ever!

Ordered what the other Unilocalers recommended and the food did not disappoint! :) Spare ribs(appetizer): I thought they would be American-style(not sure why) but it’s more like the spare ribs you get at a Chinese place. Spicy but not too spicy(I almost wish they were more spicy). No matter, they were tasty! Sha datse: You normally don’t see cheese in Asian soups so this was interesting and, again, tasty. I liked the little kick the peppers gave the soup. I gave the leftovers to my lil and she liked it as well! Mango lassi: Freaking addictive… I joked with the bf that we should add some soju in it and get him crunk. Ting mo: They reminded me of montaus(Cantonese for this kind of plain steamed bread), which I like. The bf, not so much. I just used it to dip into the sauce that the spare ribs had. Really glad this meal worked out because it was bit of a bolder move for us. The total was about $ 27 without tip. So, yes, a good bill for a stuffed, happy couple. We took all the leftovers home!
