If you want a generic tattoo for a cheap price, look elsewhere– Philip charges $ 225/​hour. Expensive, perhaps, but for something you will get PERMANENTLY inked on your body imho it is well worth it. I went to sit down with him twice before my actual appointment, and basically my ideas were: «Uhhh something with water? A fish maybe? A spiral? A flower???» Not very helpful, but when I saw the final design that he came up with based on my vague descriptions it was way more awesome than I could have ever come up with on my own. He is also honest about what would look good, and won’t just ink a tattoo for the sake of making money. This is his art and passion, and it definitely shows in his work. He originally wouldn’t do a Polynesian-​ish design because he said he didn’t want to misrepresent the culture since he was unfamiliar with it. He only agreed because he said he could tell these things meant something to me. He has also never done the same tattoo twice, so he comes up with something original for everyone. To me that shows that he takes pride and puts thought into his work. And yes, like another reviewer mentioned, there is legit authentic food in our hood for when you get hungry. Clean studio (with wi-​fi), down-​to-​earth artist, and great work!

I love my new tattoo. It is so much better than my old one. Philip did an amazing job. Great color choice and great artwork. He was also easy to talk to. He also put a movie on for me to watch as he tattooed me. Love this place.

Well what can I say about Phillip? About a year ago while I was walking in my neighborhood I happen to end up in front of a tattoo shop. I had my sketchbook with me and figured, «what the hell?», went inside to take a look. Upon meeting Phillip he sat down with me as I showed him a rough idea of what I was looking to do on my arm. He brighten up immediately and started giving his ideas. In fact he got so animated that he couldn’t convey the thought which was funny. He broke out a red sharpie and asked if I minded him showing me? I let him draw on my arm and in about 15 minutes I not only saw what he was trying to convey to me, I saw my tattoo artist! He is a very talented individual. Bold lines and a lot of attention to detail. Happy to call him a friend and very happy to be a client.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Philip recently tattooed a quote on my forearm. I was really nervous about it! I wasn’t sure what lettering to choose and I wasn’t crazy about the options in a book provided. Philip customized a font for me based on a brief description and he knocked it out of the park! And believe me when I tell you that I am nearly impossible to please. It was exactly what I wanted and more. He had an awesome personality and I felt very comfortable. His place was clean and pretty cool. I really liked the personal attention since its his own place. He even touched up an old tattoo I had since he charges by the hour not per piece. He made it look even better than it did before! He was very humble and thanked me several times for liking his work. Very satisfied with my experience.

I’m currently getting my first sleeve done by Philip. He does such amazing work! His style is diverse and is especially strong in Japanese art. Also he’s friendly & knowledgeable. The environment has a suitable dark theme but don’t worry, it’s very clean & cozy. If you’re in for a long session, order Crispy Pork Basil from Nusara! It’s a Thai restaurant in the neighborhood. You’ll love it.
