RIP Singas Elmhurst! They lost their lease at this location. You will be missed :(

I didn’t grow up with Singa’s like a lot of the folks who’ve Unilocaled here, but grew to love their pizza during my trips to Elmhurst. Green peppers and onions were my favorite topping. I loved the huge knives they used to cut the pizzas and the efficient way they would fold the bags for take-out. RIP Singa’s. You’ll be greatly missed.

Just went to Singas today and the pizza is as good as it was 25 years ago when I lived in Elmhurst. They make it to order, so you will have to wait about 15 min for your fresh pizza. But i am not complaining. THEPIZZAISDELICIOUS!!! I hope they stay in business forever

Honestly the most horrible over priced waste of money you could possibly spend on pizza. Never ever eat here. Completely horrible, disgusting, rip off. What a joke? What are all these other people thinking giving this place anything above one star? I wish I could give it a negative star rating. I would compare this to dog food, and overpriced dog food at that. The crust taste like cardboard. The cheese was not melted.

Honestly don’t spend your money here, it’s not worth the taste noe size. I have lived here in Elmhurst all my life and the one or two times I had this pizza was when someone else got it for me and each time, I was left not feeling full and disappointed. The only thing famous here is how they are still open.

The closest I’ll ever get to desi toronto style pizza. Its spicy, flavorful, and oh so good. The chopped fresh garlic is a must have on any pizza — specifically on the pepperoni, the jalepeno, and the veggie special pizza. I love the vegetarian and garlic combo as it comes with broccoli, peppers, onions, olives, cilantro, cauliflower, and i don’t remember what else. I think alone i can finish two whole pies. Even from Manhattan, its totally worth the trek to jersey or queens to get this pizza.

I seriously have dreams of this pizza… the crispy crunchy crusts and soft middles put Singas in a genre of pizza all on its own! My favorite is the green peppers and onions or just plain :)

The pizza was good. I loved it! The only reason why I am not giving them 5 stars is because they don’t have GLUTEN-FREE(crust) pizza. I am allergic, but I decided to try it anyways(I was craving pizza so bad like a pregnant woman). Overall, great pizza!

SINGAS Famous Pizza as you noticed I make sure to use the word«SINGAS». This spot is a Elmhurst Tradition, my parents took me here when I was a kid, and I take my family here now. Located conveniently in a shopping center with a parking lot. The personal pan pies is my comfort food. The lightly chard bottom gives it a light burnt taste with a bit of crunchy, the sauce is sweet yet tangy mix with the perfect blended cheese, creating a distinct taste of a personal pan pie. NO individual slices, Singas is all about the personal pie experience with the toppings. My personal favorite topping pies are the Mushroom, Onion & Peppers, Hawaiian and last but not least the Cheese Pie. During weekdays they offer a special, buy any 2 topping pies get a free cheese pie, and yes it’s about a 15−20min wait each pie is made fresh to order. Everything from the moment you order to getting a number ticket, to sitting in the eating area, smelling the Odor of Singas Pizza aroma filled in the air waiting for your number to be called is part of the joy of Singas Famous Pizza. This will be a tradition my kids will carry on, and my crew from the HURST will definitely carry on!

It’s to expensive for the little tiny pizza. The wait it’s to long maybe because they under staff.

Singas is a different type of pizza place, and they don’t try to do to much. There isn’t a hot shelf of precooked pizza slices. If you haven’t pre ordered(which you should do!) you’re just going to have to wait while they cook you a fresh pizza. Personal pan size, the only choice. The price is right, so just do it. Parking is a in a lot but is always a hassle to navigate with lots of traffic at the only exit — all the time.

Love this place. Have been living in Queens my whole life and i would recommend it to anyone… Only thing is that i miss the old staff… Went the other day and some new guys were cooking… Pizza was still amazing but missed talking to the old owner… Also kinda didn’t like the new look with it. The way they have the chairs doesn’t make sense because of the tv… But pizza is AMAZING!!!

***** STOPTHEBS **** There is nothing about the«personal 10″» pie that makes it special. LETMEBECLEAR. This pizza joint has resorted to making the worst pizza I have ever tasted to boost profits and cut as many corners as possible. Making it smaller, with the thinnest possible slices of ingredients possible! Either the business is struggling or the management is quite happy serving shit pizza with the bare minimum — in the process however destroying their reputation. ____________________________ WHATKINDOFPIZZADOUGHHASNOYEASTANDTHEREFORENOAIR pockets — WORSENOTKNEADED? DOUGH — The base of pyramid(in this case, the base was brittle and crap) I got a flat, dense thin crust pizza, that was absolutely not yeasty, had no crust, was definitely not kneaded. *** Pizza dough rises and puffs when you add yeast and sugar** What I got was a pizza with brittle, cracking dough == this means — not kneaded — if you knead dough, it becomes high in gluten and becomes chewy and flexible(that’s good). SAUCE — Are you serious? I know you advertise that you’re the best. GETTOUTAHERE. Go back to your recipe books — even DOMINO’s revisited their PIZZA sauce! It costs MONEY to put in herbs and spices in your sauce… would that be too much to ask to make your sauce taste nice rather than just applied right out which ever canned sauce you use? TOPPINGS — Here is how I can tell your business is struggling or that you are just happy making profits selling shit pizza*** I have never ever seen onion slices that were paper thin, that’s a nice touch, but you do know onions are 90% water… what happens when a paper thin onion is put in the oven? It turns to nothing. Cheese, you use the cheapest plastic mozzarella that’s available… continue down that route — see how it goes. I’ll never order from here again, for 18 $, I got two tiny, crust less brittle, thinly topped pizzas. You should really revisit your costs, and your whole business model.

Mmm! 10″ personal pans and yup, apparently I can finish one all by myself! We got a Regular(you HAVE to try the regular!) and a Hawaiian. Both were delicious! But for some reason all the tips of the slices kept cracking off leaving a little baby round pizza in the middle. My favorite was the Peppers and Onion one, next time, next time…

I like the fact that the pies are small, which is perfect if you don’t have a lot of people to share with. They serve 10″ pies and offer a variety of toppings. They also seem to make the pies fresh, as it took about 15 – 20 minutes for my pies to be ready. I think the prices are fair, about $ 7-$ 8 per pie depending on the topping. Additional $ 1.00 for extra toppings on a pie. They also have a deal from Mon.-Thurs., where you buy 2 one-topping pies, and get another one-topping pie for free. I ordered two pies, mushroom and hawaiian. Although the crust was crispy, the pies were kind of dry. The mushroom pie didn’t have enough tomato sauce and the hawaiian was as expected, but nothing spectacular. Overall, it’s an OK place, but definitely not the best pizza I’ve ever had. Also, the ambience is lacking… the décor didn’t exactly make me want to stay and eat there.

This isn’t your traditional NY slice of pizza. This is a Singas pie which is pizza in a class of its own. This pizza is so good that it helps me justify living in Elmhurst. I must have been coming here for well over ten years(or at least that’s as far back as I can remember) and haven’t for a moment grown tired of it! I always stick to one of three pies: plain, green pepper and onions, or hot peppers. The crust, the sauce, the cheese, the fresh ingredients — they all just work. Suggestion: Call ahead and place your order regardless if you’re dining in or out because these pies are made fresh to order. Tip: There’s currently an existing«order two speciality pies and get one plain pie free» promo that runs during the colder months.

For what it is, it’s the best fast pizza ever. Dominos and Papa Johns are crap compared to this. It’s not like your typical NY pizza like New Park Pizza which stands alone, but it’s perfect if you want a pie for 1 with a topping for like $ 6.00. It was delicious and the service was great. I totally recommend this place. It was just so simple and taste so good.
