I tried to call for a pick up, got hung up twice and no answer for 10 minutes. I give up

AVOID, AVOID, AVOID, WORSTCOLOMBIANRESTAURANT! I’ve always avoided this place but after so many times passing by, I finally decided to give it a try… where to start… ok. our waitress did not even greet us… or smile at least, more serious than a librarian… BBQ ribs were well cooked but lack of taste, despite being cooked by chef MIKE(microwave) tasteless, salad that has been sitting for a long time… my gf had a steak well done… with a weird taste of meat about to rot… or was it rotten already? Not even seasoned properly… so I am wondering, did the dishwasher cooked it in the dish washing machine? we did not eat the beef. We finished the microwaved BBQ ribs though… if anything the passion fruit juice was good… now I know this place should be always something to pass by. Check pls! DONTGETCAUGHTUP with the pics, trust me.

A really good home style restaurant, which is better organized than many other Colombian places in this area. We had bistec a caballo and salteado mixto. Both are very well seasoned and in large portion. They also offer free soups. The waitresses are friendly and speak good English.

I called this location to obtain a price for a medium sized tray of «arroz frito.» The manager stated that a medium sized tray was $ 100. I explained that I had paid $ 100 for a large the last time I ordered! He responded that because it was for Mother’s Day, the price is $ 100 for the medium. I asked whether the price increased only because it was Mother’s Day and he responded yes. It is unfortunate that this restaurant wants to take advantage of it’s returning customer in this fashion. I will not order from there again. So disingenuous.

A straightforward, simple Colombian spot right on Queens Boulevard. Super layback atmosphere and you are there for food. The menu is very clear cut as they label sections according to breakfast, meat, fish, appetizers, and specials. And no, you may not order any of their dishes on their special menu beyond that time frame. A bit of a turnoff but understandable. Appetizers Combo came with rice and beans, avocado, tostones, sweet plaintain, and fried pork skins. Combo was really meant to be served on a side but I ate it as a meal and was pretty satisfied with it. Rice and beans was of course, a delicious combination. Lots of beans present and I really had to squeeze that bean sauce out! Fried pork skins was actually interesting to me. Deep fried in a golden brown color and lightly salted, it was quite tasty but I had to limit myself for I was already hearing my arteries clogging! Just kidding. Sea bass with rice and salad was exceptionally delicious. The fish was well-seasoned with salt, parsley, pepper, and a bit of garlic. The fish meat was really soft too. This is a balanced meal in one plate. A decent spot if you want take-out or just a quick meal. They have a variety of items on the menu but not everything is available all the time, which bugs me. Yes, there are way better spots out there.

The food was really good! Worth the trip from Manhattan! The side orders are really big, so make sure you can eat them or your with someone to help you eat them. I enjoyed the food, you just have to make sure you know what your ordering, and ask a lot of questions because although I ordered the chicken and rice, I didn’t know they were going to come served together. The waitress and the service was also really nice. Overall not bad.

Small restaurant… But the food here is delicious and very very good! If I am right the owner is one of the chefs. Every time I go there I always see him cooking! Wherever… This place is amazing and I am very difficult to please regarding food but I feel 100% satisfied when I come here! Service is great. The waiter DIEGO«I think is his name» is pleasant and always in a good mood! Same as the girl that work with him! Sorry I didn’t get her name! Lol come in and enjoy!

Food was appropriately priced and good portions.

goood prices , I had a beer and bistec encebollado, it was good. It wasnt just food, it was tasty food. Dont get me wrong, this isn’t 5 star restaurant. I noticed there was someone new working by the way she took the order, the soda came with too much ice. you know, those little details you notice but still push her to do better.

I have a usual spot I like to go to for Colombian food in this neighborhood but for the heck of it decided to see if I could branch out and find another good spot… sadly my search continues… Started the evening with a nice ice cold glass of Colombiana and really enjoyed their Tostones with Guacamole app(though not really a Colombian dish but I digress…) The tostones were flattend out to a thin wafer almost and beautifully crisped and fried. The guac, we asked for spicy but was very mild but still helped to cut through the richness of the fried tostone. Also ordered their Arepa conQueso and that was also toasted into a nice gold brown and not to a burnt crisp which I have experienced in the past. So 2 dishes in and we were excited for the main entrees Dinner sadly went a bit south from there. Ordered the Bistek Encebollado and the Plato Tipica with steak. The steaks in both dishes as well as the fried pork belly tasted like they were cooked in really old cold oil. It it was not good. The slick taste of skunky oil left in your mouth was not appetizing at all. The only saving grace was that the maduros, rice and beans were very good. The space is open and inviting and the staff was very accommodating and nice too. Onward to find the next best Colombian spot!

Como ellos dicen es el auténtico sabor de la comida casera, desde una arepa con queso hasta los deliciosos especiales que tienen a diario, muchos platos no están en el menú pero todos los días tienen 3 especiales diferentes. Me encanta!!! I Love Love this Food everything is home made, it makes you think that you are back in Colombia eating in your grandmother’s house.

DONOTGOTOTHISPLACE, ITISAWFUL!!! This is the worst restaurant i have ever been to. 1) I order 2 churrasco’s, 1 arepa con queso, 1 empanada, 1 colombiana soda, 1 maracuya con leche. We see that rice comes with the churrasco’s, but there is no mention of beans so we ask, «do beans come with this? we want beans». the waitress replies, «yes of course». ok, so we want beans. 2) the maracuya leche comes out, after waiting another 5 minutes i ask, «where is my soda»? 3) the waitress brings us an entrée that we did not order literally 7 minutes after we place our order, at this point there are only 4 other patrons in the restaurant. 4) My entrée comes out(no beans), so i ask ‚“where are the beans?” the waitress says«they are coming». 5) 10 minutes later my girlfriend’s entrée comes out(no beans). 6) 5 minutes later i ask where are our beans? where is my arepa con queso? the waitress replies, «oh it doesn’t come with beans, beans are extra, do you want beans? let me see where the arepa is» i say, «yes we asked for beans, you said it came with beans» (she runs off the the kitchen) she comes back and says again, «beans are extra, do you want beans?» at this point i say no, i do not want anything anymore please bring me the check. she brings the check, of course it is wrong… P. S. The steaks sucked. I could get a better meal at Taco Bell. ANDTHEICINGONTHECAKE, SHEINCLUDEDFORHERSELF A 15% TIPONOURBILLFOR A PARTYOF2PEOPLE… ANDSHECOULDN’T GETANYTHINGRIGHT! The food is okay, which is why there’s 1 star. If i could give them a zero for their customer service, I would. The waitresses are lazy, they’re not attentive. They do not know how to take down orders. If you can’t memorize an order, grab a pad and a pen, it will make your life easier. I can’t really speak much about the staff, since I only had to deal with two but they were the only ones on the floor(during a busy lunch day). Both waitresses are rude and slow. They don’t seem to know how to communicate with their customers or maybe they just don’t care. Also, they seem miserable. If you don’t like to what you do, then leave. Customers shouldn’t be treated nasty just because you’re in a miserable mood and/or are lazy. It’s your job to get the order correct and to serve, not to talk with each other while customers are waiting for you to approach the table. The fake blond waitress seemed annoyed because she had to work the floor. She was more interested in staying behind the counter to flirt with older married men, while the tall skinny waitress was gossiping. If that’s how you get around in life, that’s your business but keep this behavior outside the workplace. Not only is it unprofessional, but It is inappropriate and disgusting in any workplace. I don’t know how long this business has been open but I doubt it’ll be open for much longer. It has potential with a new and different staff because it’s in a busy area. They’re better restaurants around who do care about their clients and their business.

Their staff is very friendly. The breakfast is very good ! Love the calentado … Other items on the menu are good but I’ve ordered from here so many times I’ve experienced the times when the food is not good at all. For some reason when I order for delivery the Maduro is always stale and cold ! If it weren’t for these inconsistencies I would have of course added another star

My Parents used to own the restaurant before this one. Aguapanela’s. Sadly, it was way too much money to keep it functioning. ANYWAY, we obviously went to check out what the new place was like. I had the ajiaco and it was DELICIOUS. Jesus, I kept looking at my bowl thinking about the sad moment when it would be empty. I also tasted some of the gallina guisada from the soup of the day and it was alright. but my favorite was the desert. POSTREDENATILLA I don’t know what it is. All i know its delicious. I also think everyone that works there is very friendly. The cook comes out and greets people and makes sure the food is top notch. I do think they need more than one waitress though. It gets packed, Good luck to them!

I’ve been coming here for years. It used to be called Aguapanela’s. Whatever the name, the food here is good. We usually come here for the calentado, but really you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. Good coffee, friendly service, good food, always a fan. Come see for yourself!
